Chapter 643: Blood Laws
Chapter 643: Blood Laws
"So you're saying you two are just terrible Blood Lords." I expressed in a bit of mocking light.
"And you wonder why I kicked you in the head." Said Asmdoeus deeply. "If your that cut and dry, then yes. We are, in a way, terrible at controlling blood. But Blood Laws are almost in possible to teach much less train."
"Oh?" Arching my brow, Asmodeus sighed, lowering his hand from his chin, and leaned back into his chair, carrying a deep frown, "Do you know the difference between Freya and myself?
Opening my mouth to speak, he waved his hand, "It was rhetorical; the difference is night and day, mah boy. I could snap and kill this woman before your arrival. But just like me, she is a Blood Lord. In the beginning, the Laws of water will be easy, but as you deviate into the Great Blood Laws, you begin to notice a profound drop in your comprehension when it comes to your blood. The stronger one's blood, the harder it is to become a Blood Lord."
"So, what are my chances?" I curiously asked, "As it seems like this is not just about comprehension."
"Oh, it is, I'm just telling you. The Mastery of Blood Laws is critical if you wish to become a paragon. I may be a master in the blood laws, but I'm a terrible master. Nevertheless, the blood laws took me from Saint to Emperor."
"What he says is correct, my Master." Said Freya grimly, "I am but a King to your bloodline, but I only became a king because of my profound grasp on your blood in these hundred years. That is why I was able to awaken that blood you used a few months ago before you did. Blood Laws are not necessarily the strongest Dao, but if you are of flesh and blood, then it's The most important Dao you can learn. How can one master the cosmos if they cannot master themselves?"
I was not in the least bit happy to hear about this news. While I had studied the Dao of Blood for a while, it was constrained. I was at the peak of the ninth layer of Dao Comprehension when it came to Blood Laws, but there is an almost infinite path to every Dao. My way focused more on how I control my blood, as to gain control of Crimson Wings. It was a means to an end, same with the concept of wind.
Compared to how I mastered Darkness and Fire, where I studied almost every possible path to make myself invincible, I did no such thing with my other Dao's.
"Sone of a bitch," I coldly cursed.
"So if you wish for Odin's soul, I want your blood. The more I study blood, the more I learn. It doesn't really matter if it's mine or yours. The more I can get a grasp on the concept of blood, the better. Plus, it also helps that this blood may provide me a great weapon in the future." The King of Hell explained, smiling from ear to ear.
"Is Mimir a Blood Lord?" I coldly asked.
"Not form what I can tell my Lord. Studying the Laws of Blood doesn't make you a Blood Lord. You are the perfect example of that. Being a Blood Lord means that you are studying your blood and the blood of others." Said Freya softly shaking her head, "In my inherited memories, here was once a Blood Lord who controlled a God, as a mortal. Bending his very will and heart, the other gods grew so mortified that they all set out to destroy this man. But when they discovered him, it was too late. Over Several high gods were on his side. Bent by his power and understanding of this Law, they became nothing but Thralls, to worship a mere mortal. He was the first record of a Blood Lord."
"I remember that," said Asmodeus peering up with a hint of melancholy, "Master had told me about a child who made a deal with her. She said it was he who gave her the idea of becoming a Blood Lord. A monstrous genius, she called him."
"You know this kind of information would have been lovely to have. What the hell!" I bitterly cursed.
"Well, Master, you were nowhere to be found. It's not my fault you and your wife were in such a long romantic tryst." Said Freya irritably; pursing her lips, she turned her head with puffed cheeks.
CLitting my tongue, I slit my wrist with the tip of my nail and poured it down a vial I drew from the Ring of Bael. "I hate you all. Gimme Odin's soul and send me on my way."
Snatching the vial of blood from my hand, Asmodeus eyed it with a smile and nodded, "Alway great doing business with you, and don't worry. I will not try to turn you into a thrall."
I smiled, "My wife carries a weapon capable of cutting the contracts of hell. I am sure you won't."
"Always with the threats." he claimed, shaking his head, "But did I mention I don't actually have Odin's soul?"
Freya rose angrily with a blood-thirsty eye, "What? What the hell do you mean you do not have him?" She accused in a tone I had not heard in a while. It was deep and almost dreadful.
"Calm yourself, Freya." I coldly snapped, "Sit."
Gritting her teeth, Freya's fist clenched, and she fell back into her seat. "Now care to explain?"
"Oh yes, well, I never actually killed Odin. He's in my hells. I tossed him into the first layer. I think he's a whore. Idk; the last time I checked, he was selling himself to some demon for protection. None demon and devil blood are so rare in these lands. But if you want Zeus's as well, that will cost extra."
"How much? Wait, I thought those in the Greek Pantheon were looking for a replacement. " I asked.
"His legacy properly thought him dead. Once he returns to the Bed of Chaos, his title will carry back to the strongest, which will be the one I have in my Hells. It's a win-win for you." He explained as I sighed,
"How much?"
"The blood of Lilith." He said as I burst into laughter.
"Pick something else. You are playing with fire. Lilith right now is in communication with those of the highest order in the Abyss. Unless you wish to accumulate their wrath, I suggest you pick something else. I don't want to be tormented by those bastards."
"Coward."
