Chapter 882 The Cold Black Abyss
A/N: Lore Heavy Chapter
I needed this!
A/N: Talking about my game, lol.
Taking my leave from Ezra’s room, who lay curled up on the bed, asleep, I stretched my arms and smiled.
This experience, while not what I expected, was quite a delight; I’ll break her next time! God damn! What the Hell has Lilith done to me? Why is it I have to compete? Jesus. I think I’ve got PTSD. ๐๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ซ๐๐ก.๐๐๐ฉ
Shaking my head and dismissing such thoughts, I walked past the guards, eyeing me like I was the second coming. After all, I did, just dick down there, Master. Keeping a calm look on my face to mask my prideful smile, I slowly walked down the halls towards the surface, where a blinding light reflected over me.
I arched my head, only to frown as a feeling overcame me as I stared at the sun. I turned my head towards the faded image of Iliya and frowned.
Her intent? It’s fading.
Heart racing, I slowly turned pale as even our Teether between one another seemed to vanish, leaving me so cold I fell to my knees in shock.
What has happened? Lilith!
“Izavithโ”
I tried to call, but Mephisto’s voice resounded, “She’s alive, but now’s not the time. Do not interfere.”
Mephistos words did little to appease my worries as I began to notice the once bright skies turn black. The sun blazing with its majestic light capable of killing God-Kings, and hurting Paragons, was instantly extinguished.
And like the great flood, the gentle winds fluttered through the world beneath my feet, bringing about a tundra of ice. As far as the eye could take me, I saw a layer of ice come about, along with a cold that would have threatened me were I not immune to the elements.
The airs on my neck stood like pointed daggers as fear took deep root in me when Mephisto suddenly materialized in a blaze of flames.
“Amazing, is it not?” He asked, sliding his eyes that were no longer lazy but instead insanely sharpโSharper than anything I’d ever seen, as no smile could be seen on his face.
I have never seen him so serious in my life or past life.
“What is it that I’m looking at?”
“You are still low in cultivation, but each Monarch of the various Elements has one spell created by the Origin Element. In your case, it would be Tenebrae.” He said, sucking in a deep breath, ” But the same holds true for the Soviergns of the Various Twelve Realms: Noctem, Elysium, Iluthtath, Genesis, Badlands, Overworld, Ethereal, Aether, Oblivion, The Astral Sea, Heaven, Hell, and ultimately, the Abyss.”
Mephisto looked up towards the skies, losing its light, leaving only Darkness that seemed foreign to me. He bowed, ” Tenebrae.”
“T-T-That’s! Tenebrae!” I shouted, looking at the very Darkness that seemed so dark, so encompassing, yet bland that I could not even begin to grasp its complexity.
“Hmmm, “He hummed in conformation. “It also came as a shock to me, but Father didn’t create the Darkness, but rather the Abyss, to complement her. The Darkness is but Clothing for the Abyss.” He said as I stood rooted to the ground.
“Your kidding, right?”
“Arsene, when will you understand? We are just parasites compared to these two. If there was anything I ever gave up on understanding, it was to grasp these too.”
“What of hell, surely it hasโ”
“Our God is a Jealous God.’ He phrased, turning to me, ” You ever heard that line before? The Hells were meant to quell his emotions, his anger, most of all. But to us, it’s the ultimate form of torture, the most heinous thing in our conceivable existence. And Heaven was a place where he created to be happy.”
How does one become so powerful? Is it even possible?
“It’s not,” He answered, almost like he read my mind, “The zenith to power is so long we fall into the cycle of the various natures of sloth. Even for me, despite all the plots I set up, most of them require time.
My heart dipped a few notches as I sighed, and he spoke, ” We are slaves to time, my disciple, and more so to the sins. It’s bound to happen at some point.”
The Darkness was a cloth, and Heaven and Hell was a fucking psychiatrist’s office. What the fucking Hell!
Mephisto chuckled, ” Seems even with your suppressed emotions you are feeling anger; you should see your face. Not even Lucifer knows this, though. ”
Clenching my fist, knowing this was the best time to get some valuable information, I sucked in my flaring anger, pushing it down into the depths of my soul. ” But why?”
“He thrives on drama. And it’s honestly the reason why I orchestrated the Rebellion.” He uttered and turned to me with that mischievous smile, “When Father told me all these truths during a meeting, I had off the books. I couldn’t help but tell him the tales of my plan.”
“You told god you wanted to rebel?”
“Indeed. I told Father well before it happened and that Samael would lead the charge.” He uttered, looking up with a mischievous smile, ” Father laughed and asked if I was trying to anger him. I nodded. Knowing there was no point in hiding, he is all-seeing and all-knowing. But it was then we had a particular discussion.”
My heart began to pick up as I stared at the smile slowly fading, ” I may have orchestrated Heavens Rebellion, but Father pushed it along. He knew Lucifer would forever look down upon his creations, despite being one. He told me what life would be without conflict for his creations. And were we not one of them? And for this reason alone, I think it was the core reason why he never made an appearance during the War.”
“I thought it was to allow others to believe he was not one to rule through pure fear. ” I said, finally understanding that fear was temporary while effective; it has its limits.
“I still speak with Father, but you must understand that while we did fall, it indeed angered him a little. And in response, the hells grew in power. But so did the Heavens as time went on.”
“Wait! What about the Seven Sins? If god created them all, then he must have felt all ofโ”
The Throne of Blood and Ash! Wait, who sits on that throne? If there is a throne, there isโ
“Go on, boy, do continue,” Mephisto said, cutting my thoughts to pieces in a hungry tone, eying me like I was meat.
