2833 Breakthrough
Slash Slash Slash
I was cutting through the group of snakes when the energy covered me, and I disappeared from my spot.
A moment later, I appeared in the huge clearing with two gates and a clock above it. There are also two boost stands for the Grimms and humans who have begun appearing.
As I appeared, the first thing I was circulating was the energy in my body, removing all poison the snakes had given and the injuries I had on my body.
They begin to heal at a visible pace, which shouldn’t be surprising considering there is no resistance; they are simple fleshy injuries that are easy to heal with my vitality.
I looked around and was a little disappointed when I did not see the resources, only the booster stands. People love it when there are only booster stands and resources they can get, but it is hard to get the boost.
Many did not wait, directly going for the boost as they appeared. The first among them was Silas Bishop; he looked unusually excited to receive the boost.
Seeing the boost, I wondered what methodology would be used this time; there was no mention of when the challenge began.
In some challenges, we had to collect some things; through them, one could guess the amount of boost that one would receive through it.
It is a little hard when it comes to survival-type challenges; it could measure by monster kills or something else, but nothing is certain.
I looked for a few seconds before summoned my abode and went inside; there, the first thing I was showered before cooking inside my core, eating, and finally sleeping.
I had been awake for three days, and in those three days, I had been constantly fighting. I did not get rest for more than a few minutes after the fights, so even after I gained full power, the tiredness remained. So, I slept, as I needed a relaxed mind for the work I had to do.
In the past three days, my clone had made immense progress, and now, I only needed three to four more days before I became ready to level up; it could be a little early, and I want to level up as early as possible.
Hun!
“Wake up,” said my clone, waking me up from sleep; I woke, but immediately a surprise flashed on my face, as I did not ask it to wake me up.
I wanted it to be completely focused on inheritance.
“Why did you wake me up?” I asked as I entered my core; there were still forty-five minutes to five hours. “For this,” It replied and pointed toward the meta-scan, which was flashing.
“What about it? It is just a simple break,” I suddenly stopped myself as my eyes went wide, and a moment later, I appeared beside the meta-scan.
A breakthrough is happening, not a normal breakthrough, but a breakthrough into a Grand Lord class. I have all the information about the breakthroughs, from the smallest part to the biggest, but I did not have a recording of it.
No one had leveled up into the Grand Lord in front of me, which is the thing I had regrated the most and wanted to watch the breakthrough myself or at least have a recording of it, and now, the thing I had so much hoped for is happening in front of it.
The joy did not last much longer, especially when I realized who this meta-scan belonged to.
Silas Bishop.
He had initiated the breakthrough into the Grand Lord class.
I hated the bastard, but I couldn’t move my eyes away from it; it was the thing I had wanted for so long, and I really wished I wouldn’t be getting it from the man I hated the most.
A minute later, I walked out of the abode and saw Silas Bishop in the corner of the clearing; he was sitting under a powerful protective formation, with eighteen humans standing guards around him; all of them were High-Grandmasters.
There are many familiar people there, including Lady Veronica.
I moved toward it, but just as I appeared close, an old man with an iron saber at his waist appeared in front of me, stopping me from going any further.
“Grandmaster Zaar, my apologies, but I could not let you go any further,” said the old man; he was not alone in stopping me; four other High-Grandmaster drew close, ready to protect their leader.
The old man and the four belong to the same organization, the sky saber, and they know the kind of relationship I had with their leader.
“Relax, Lord Norman; I am just here to watch. If I want to do anything against your leader, even you wouldn’t be able to stop me,” I said with a friendly smile on my face.
The old man looked at me for a second before he sighed and stepped away, giving me the clear way to the bishop.
I walked a few steps before stopping at the edge of the protective formation, which was quite powerful. Even Grand Lords would find it very hard to break it.
Thankfully, it is completely transparent, so I can see what is inside. The meta-scan could only show what was happening inside his body, not what was outside, especially when all his powers were sealed for the breakthrough.
“What do you think about our leader’s breakthrough, Grandmaster?” asked Lord Norman as he appeared beside me.
“Bishop’s soul and body had reached the complete limit; his energy had acquired the needed purity and comprehension into his inheritance, and first energy had also reached very high that he wouldn’t have any problem standing against the Grand Lord for minutes or two,” I replied.
“I am sensing a ‘but’ in your sentence, Grandmaster,” said the old man. To that, I smiled.
“Your leader has filled all the boxes he needed to become a Grand Lord, but as you are aware. If filling the boxes is all we need to reach the level of Grand Lord, then we wouldn’t have had such a puny number of them,” I replied, and this time, its his time to smile mirthlessly.
The old man himself filled all the boxes, but he did not dare to try to level up; it was not easy. People said it was a game of luck; those who were lucky would level up while others merged back into the earth.
“Still, what do you think about the chances of our leaders succeeding?” asked the old man, the question which I did not answer immediately.
“Given his talent, I would say they are fifty-fifty,” I replied and could see the old man taking a sigh of relief as the hope sparkled in his eyes.
This is quite a great chance, and one part of me really wishes they hadn’t been. I even wanted to sabotage him, and I could, but I controlled my emotions.
Him succeeding will give us a Grand Lord, who would be tremendously useful in the war, and his chances are good.
He might be hateful, but he is one of the most talented among humans; by checking all the boxes to the highest, he might really succeed.
