2851 Escape
“Ahhhhh…”
I screamed loudly while the powerful chaotic curse energy burst out of my body; it was so powerful that the Grimm had reinforced the energy protection around it unconsciously.
‘Damn!’
I cursed loudly in my mind; just when I thought everything was under my control, it happened.
Bang Bang Bang
I had just stopped the curse from swallowing my core by caging it when it went mad; the calm snake exploded in size and now is struggling against the cage. The formation inside increases their power constantly, without care for the resources they are burning for it.
Even with all the preparations, I was barely able to hold the curse in the cage, which seemed to be getting powerful by the second.
I have been warned by the Grand Lords not to underestimate the old snake, and I did not, but still, the power of its creation has truly shocked me.
I would not have been shocked if the old snake had been here powering this thing, but it is not. It is just its creation, a frightful, wonderful, powerful creation, which would destroy me if I did not keep it contained inside the cage.
I am constantly making changes in the cage as I get more and more data about the curse, and in just a few seconds, I have got a lot.
What shocked me the most was the method the old snake had used to create this curse. The old snake did not make many efforts to hide; it could be said it had kept bare to scare the enemies who might get afflicted by it.
The old snake had used a sacrificial type of method to craft the core; it had sacrificed thousands of monsters for the curse.
Harnessing their essence and their soul power, along with their resentment, which creates a strong soul attack. I am very fortunate that this curse tried to eat my core first; if it had attacked me with resentment like it is doing inside the cage, things would have been far more dangerous than right now.
Not that they are less dangerous; I am perfectly aware of what would happen if the slightest power of the curse leaked out of the cage.
“Kill me!” I shouted in a guttural voice filled with extreme pain before went back to screaming again.
“Not yet, Zaar, not yet.” Replied the Grimm Grand Lord with its voice full of joy. “You have killed too many of us to have any mercy,”
“This curse will ground your bones and melt your soul.” “I am recording everything, and when I get out, it will be played across all your servers, a reminder of how futile your resistance against us and what happens to those who dare to resist,”
‘The bullshit,’ I said inside me while casting a glance inside my core for a fraction of a second at a clock, waiting for the only way that could save it.
Surviving against this bastard is a near-impossible task, but not completely impossible. I could survive; I just needed to play my cards right, at perfect timing.
Since it had appeared, everything had gone according to the plan, and once again, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for having a notorious reputation among the Grimms. If I had been one of the common High Grandmasters, the bastard would have killed me and moved on, but I am not.
I have killed a huge number of Grimms, and no one is able to match my number, not even Jill, Ellen, or Rai. I am talking about the official number that Grimms have and not the real ones; if the Grimms truly knew how many of their powerful I had killed, they would go mad in a fury.
More than half of the powerhouses I have killed were in ruins, where no one was there to record, and I have always been quite discreet with my kills.
Once again, I increased the pitch of my screams, made it as painful as possible, and made the aura of the curse even denser. I also increase the power anti-soul measure; not that Grimm dared to touch the curse with its soul sense, but I like to be careful.
I once again cast a glance at the clock and focused on the cage; the curse is trying different methods to break out, and each one is more dangerous than before.
I am handling the curse antics but also preparing for the worse or the last method that it will try. I could already guess what it was, and with my current preparations, I could not protect myself if it tried that, but slowly, I am building defenses against it.
Looking at the bastard, I have already decided that I will not play with my enemy. I have picked up this habit, but I will stop it if I survive.
Considering how I am planning on escaping the clutches of this bastard, other smart enemies might also use such methods; the best way to stop them is to kill them as soon as possible.
Hun!
The curse suddenly split into thousands of parts and moved toward walls of the cage before sticking to the runes. For a few moments, nothing had happened before suddenly; these thousands of parts blazed with power and melted the runes, collapsing the cage in an instant.
‘Interesting,’ I thought as I saw that; this one was the strongest of their attacks, each part of the curse projected an immense amount of power; it broke the runes and made the cage collapse.
It is not a single cage that is caging this curse; I would be an idiot to depend upon a single cage. There are layers are layers of it, and every second, these layers get stronger as I continue to make the changes with the data, I am getting about it.
“One minute,” said my clone; I did not have to ask what it was talking about.
The thing will happen right after one minute, and for it, I have to be prepared. I don’t know whether it is known about or cracked the pattern; I did not dare to think about it because if it knows about it, then I am fucked.
So, I screamed even louder and created a cursed aura so powerful that it would not dare to come close to it. To make a fake aura, I had to injure myself even more than I am, and I did without a doubt.
I want it to do nothing other than enjoy the agonizing screamed of its hated enemy, and my act seemed to me work as its eyes lit up with great joy when the curse changed its form to flames and began to burn me while I screamed hoarsely in pain.
Seconds ticked, and before I knew it, less than ten seconds had remained; seeing that, I intensified my act even further.
Soon, only three seconds remained, one more passed, and now only two remained; when I stopped breathing and with me dead, the curse also disappeared from my body.
“Dead, finally!”
The Grimm said with a smile, but the very next second, its expressions changed as if it understood something, and I felt the vast power of the Grand Lord pressing on me, breaking my bones and squishing my flesh.
The attack came suddenly, but just as it came, it disappeared along with the Grimm, who was now nothing more than a blurry behind the glittering glass wall.
