Chapter 1970: Myles Campus

Chapter 1970: Myles Campus

“Just how many Grimm Bastards have come here?” Elina asked as we have avoided another Grimm Monster with Ashlyn’s direction.

It had been nearly two days since we had come to this ruin, and the closer we got to the Myles Campus, the more Grimm Monsters we encountered. In just within an hour, we have come across five Grimm Monsters, four elites, one leader class Tyrant.

Their numbers will continue to increse till we reach the Mylas Campus, where we might inevitably have to fight some Grimm Monsters, but that is nothing compared to the real danger we face. Hopefully, I should be able to leverage my formation-breaking ability and stay clear of the dangers.

“Another one,” I said as Ashlyn had informed, and we again changed the direction and such nine more hours passed by when we had finally stopped as we could see what it seemed like a city from a distance; it is no city but a thousands of years old part of the powerful organization and things inside will help both of us immensely.

“We have to be more careful from now on; every step will be filled with danger and no, needless fighting, we can’t afford to waste time or attract attention on us,” I cautioned, to which she nodded.

A few minutes later, after Ashlyn mapped our journey again, we begin to move, but this time, it is at a much slower speed, avoiding both humans and Grimm Monsters.

I was surprised by just how many familiar humans I am seeing since I had come into this ruin; I know 60% I had seen. I do not know them personally but had read the information about them; a teacher had memorized the information of as many Tyrants she has, especially the powerful ones.

Anyone who becomes Elite Tyrant is a respectable powerhouse who holds some weight, and every organization creates a dossier of them.

“Quite a few people have come here; even Charles Bone had come,” I said, referring to the rapist of great notoriety. He had served Pyramid for five decades before he earned his freedom. While he seemed to show he had changed his way and still faithfully serving the Pyramid, we had to stay as far away from it as possible.

“With the war, Pyramid is loosening the leash on its dogs to make them grow,” Elina said with a sigh, and I couldn’t help but nod.

Usually, Pyramid keeps a tight eye on the social deviants even if they are released after earning their freedom, from ruins to resources, everything is restricted for them till the Pyramid becomes very sure they have found the right way.

But with the war, Pyramid had nearly loosened all the restrictions on the free social deviants, so they would grow and help against the coming war.

It is an unfortunate reality; if it had been in my hand, I would have never let these bastards go free, especially deal with them after crime against them is established.

Three hours passed by, and we have finally entered the Myles Campus through the broken wall, which was quite hidden, and in front of us was a city that used to be a place where once upon a day, all the members of Bloodhare desire and despair.

As I had said, this is a research facility, and not all research facilities follow the code of ethics, and there is plenty of proof here that this one did not follow the ethics at all.

People had found many places that used many inhuman methods this place used to advance the power of the bloodline.

Due to that, there were many restrictions on this ruin before; only people authenticated by Supremes and Pyramid were able to come here, but now since the war had begun, it had become open to all. Anyone can come here, as long as one has the power of the elite.

As we passed through the cracked wall, a view of Myles Campus appeared in front of us. It is perfectly preserved; one could barely see any damage on the building, nearly 90% of the building here are in very good condition, and that makes them dangerous.

While the Myles campus is small in a general sense, it is quite beautiful; it would have been more beautiful when it was in its own world with manicured gardens and people around.

“It does not look like a place that used to do gruesome research,” Elina said. Hearing that, I couldn’t help but shook my head. “The people of this place had no moral and ethical compass, but not all research here was gruesome,”

“The people here had one target in mind, and that is advancing the power of bloodlines, and for it, they were willing to use any way they have, whether it is ethical or unethical,” I said.

Sometimes, things are not in black and white; there is grey in between, and from what I had read about this organization, these people were mad about bloodline advancement, but they were no cold-blooded killers; they were just people who were willing to do anything for their goal and for some people, that is cold-bloodedness.

“As we have decided before, we will first go to the Edna Charm laboratory,” I said, and Elina nodded. Edna Charm laboratory is one of the places where resin had been found, and the person who had found it was not able to get deep inside me due to the dangers it had.

This is good news for us; the Edna Charm laboratory is filled with the powerful, deadly formation, but unlike others, I would be able to broke them, and if I am lucky, I might be able to get my hands on that resin or something of similar value and functions.

I once again removed the map and looked at where it is, though I didn’t have to remove the map, seeing I had already memorized and it is Ashlyn who will be taking it, but I still did, to feel little in control.

We are at a very dangerous place right now and where the slightest mistake on our part would kill us, and we did not want to get killed when we had reached so close to our destination.
