Chapter 2131: Returning To Fort Ardon
Chapter 2131: Returning To Fort Ardon
“What happened? What took you so long to return?” Lord Whitman asked as I walked out of the teleportation gate.
All my teammates are here, and so is Lord Whitman and two technicians who seemed to have sweated all the water they had on their body.
“There was some signal interference; I had to walk out of the Raven Palace before I could teleport out,” I replied and showed the log from my beacon, which clearly shows that I did not receive the signal until I walked out of the palace.
“Let’s go back to my tower; I want all the details of the mission,” Lord Whitman said. A few minutes later, we were back into the Lord Whitmans today, giving out the mission report. We only gave the short version; the long one would be text form.
“You have done best of what you could, and I would like to have a copy of formation you have taken; I want our rune Grandmasters to decipher it as soon as possible, and Micheal, I like to too also try to decipher it, we want those conductors in our hands as soon as possible,” Lord Whitman said as he placed the key in the box that I had just handed to him with the cuffs.
“Yes, lord Whitman,” I said, whether he asked or not, I would have tried to break that formation. It is a great challenge that I want to accomplish.
“All of you have done great and should rest now Micheal; stay for a few minutes; I have some things to talk to you,” Lord Whitman said. The others excused themselves, leaving Lord Whitman and me alone in the room.
“I assumed you have dealt with the other team,” Lord Whitman said simply. His words surprised me, but I did not let them show on my face.
This man is quite intelligent; I should not be surprised about it. Before lady Hera, he was the leader of the Pyramid council, and not to mention, it is not just strength that is a prerequisite to lead a supreme and gain a seat on the Pyramid council.
“It is quite a risk you have taken; you should have finished them off with your team,” He said, “I had made a small advancement with my fight with Grey Mane Lionaman and wanted to test it out alone,” I lied.
“Still, you should know better, since you know even if no one beneath Grandmaster could kill you, one does not need to be a Grandmaster to kill you,” Lord Whitman said with a serious voice. I know what he means; even an unranked Tyrant could kill me if it had something like a medallion of strength impartation.
“I will be careful,” I said, to which he nodded.
“The others have told me about your rings that would teleport those wearing it on the same spot when entering the ruins; the Pyramid would be grateful if you could provide us few,” Lord Whitman said; I am not surprised; this might be a real reason why he had asked me to stay behind.
“How many did you want?” I asked, “A hundred at least, for now, few hundreds, next week after,” He replied, shocking the hell out of me.
“Lord Whitman, those rings are not easy to make, and I only have twenty on my person,” I said and gave him a small wooden box in which twenty delicate red crystalline rings were placed.
“You don’t have to worry about the resources; Pyramid will provide you all; I just hope you will be able to provide us at least a hundred every week. They are extremely useful to us,” he said, “I will try,” I said with a sigh.
To be honest, creating these rings is not much difficult; they only fraction amount of rule-bending power.
The only difficulty in their creation is the resources that Pyramid is willing to provide. It will be a good business for me, seeing I need the humongous amount of resources for the advancements and experiments that I will have to do.
“If there is nothing else, my lord, then I would like to return to the fort Ardon,” I said, “It no problem, and by the way, the Grimms had not attacked yet, but they might attack by evening,” He informed before he led me to the teleportation formation.
A few minutes later, I appeared in the formation of the Fort Ardon wearing the skin of Dexter and the same elite waiting for me.
He looked visibly relieved seeing me, “Lord Dexter, the General had ordered me to bring you to command center as soon as you arrive,” He said; I nodded and followed him to the command center.
When I had reached the command center, I saw General in the same position as I saw him the first time, looking through the glass toward the direction of the Grimm fort.
“General,” I said as I arrived beside him, “Dexter, it is good you have arrived on time; the Grimm Monsters have started the preparations; they will attack by evening,” He said before turning to me.
“How are you feeling? Have you recovered from the last battle?” He asked as he looked at me from up to down, “Yes, I was lucky enough to find something in the assignment that helped me recover fully,” I replied.
I had not only recovered but also made huge advancements, harvesting the bloodline of so many Grimm Monsters that I could now able to sense the limit.
“Good, I will be counting on you to hold on to that Violet Vidette again,” he said. I couldn’t help but shake my head in disappointment hearing that, even with huge advancements I had made, I am still only capable of holding it back.
I would need to reach the limit in my level and art before I could even think about killing it. Its defensive abilities are no joke; otherwise, it would not have been only Grandmasters who had been able to kill it the majority of the time.
