Chapter 2580: Death Of Grand Lord I
Chapter 2580: Death Of Grand Lord I
The moment I woke up, I felt bad; there was this ominous feeling clouding my mind, telling me something bad was going to happen, and thing, everything was going good.
The project is going fine; more than just fine, the resources like nine blood-burning essence, blood wine, everessence vines crystals, and a few more are helping a lot with the resources I am growing in my core.
The council is also helping a lot, even risking their lives; in one month, they have sent the team to the navar ruin three times already to get the vine crystals, and these risks are paying off greatly; I will have no problem in completing my target.
Still, this ominous feeling was clouding me; I tried to forget it, get away from it, but it was not going away, even when I meditated, which usually helps, but this time, it was not helping, and it was frustrating me.
I am very close to reaching my target; the day after tomorrow will be the last mass breakthrough of the first phase of the project, where I will complete my promise to create the hundred Grandmaster for the Pyramid, and I don't want anything to happen that upend my plan.
Hun!
I just thought that when suddenly something lighted up like the sun in my core, I instantly appeared beside my core, and when I looked at the thing that was shining like a sun, my expression couldn't help but change.
The radiance was bright, but it did not feel inspiring; instead, for some reason, it felt sad. I felt like I am watching the radiance of a dying sun, which at the last moment of its life, shines the brightest.
The Council Hall
"Two days, in two days, we will have enough Grandmasters to launch the attack," said Lord Sylvian with a clear, hopeful smile on his face.
"The pressure to act these days is really too much; just yesterday, I had met the delegation of our vassal organizations, and they ate my brain for an hour, asking me when we will retaliate against the Grimms with the big attacks!" said Silus Bishop, clearly he is angry.
"How are the preparations, Lord Whitmore?" the projection of the Grand Commander spoke finally. "Neary finished; we just need the last badge from Zaar, and within a week, we will launch the attack on the Grimms," He replied while projecting the graph for everyone to see.
"He had already produced the ninety-three Grandmasters already; I wonder how many he will produce this month," she said softly as she studied the graph.
"Lord Zaar always gives the list to us, but this time he is being very secretive," said Lord Sylvester before opening the list of peak Masters in the project, and there are nearly two hundred of them.
The number itself is quite surprising, considering 70% of them had reached this stage in the past nine months, and now many of them would be able to make a breakthrough into the Grandmaster class.
"Looking at the data here, I think we will get around fifteen Grandmaster this month," opinioned Lord Sylvester, but lady May shook her head beside him, "You don't agree?" he asked; they were able to predict number seeing the data, so he is quite surprised seeing his colleague disagreeing.
"I feel like the number is low for this final; I think it should be around twenty," she said while looking at the list of masters.
"I really hope your words would come true, lady May; we really need more Grandmasters," Lord Whitmore sighed.
Seeing the number of Grandmasters appearing in the Grimms, the number hundred did not strike much confidence. As they are very sure, the Grimms are hiding more Grandmaster than they are showing, and these hundred would only give them a fighting chance, not help them win the battle.
Still, they are better than nothing; it will buy them some time, and the time hopefully will help them produce more Grandmasters.
Throughout the months, they have noticed the method of Micheal is getting more and more sophisticated, and the Grandmasters they are producing have a lot more potential to advance further than the Grandmasters before.
Crack
"The next on our ag" Grand Commander stopped mid-speaking as she heard the crack, and all of them looked up immediately and saw crack running down on the square mirror that was hanging down like a chandelier, and dread couldn't help but appear on their face.
That mirror is not a chandelier; it is much more. It is extremly powerful that, even if all of them were to attack together, they would not be able to break it, but now the crack begins to appear on it.
Crack Crack Crack
The dread had just appeared on their faces when it had transformed to sheer horror when they saw tens of cracks appearing on the mirror and spreading everywhere. Everyone understood what had happened, and it couldn't fill their heart with grief and horror.
"Teacher,"
Whispered Grand Commander while tears streaming down her face; the grief she was feeling was unbearable; her teacher was like a father to her and her sister, and now today, she had lost him, and the thing is, she could not even grief.
The tears just started streaming down when she wiped them down and looked at the cracking mirror with an expressionless face, but her eyes were still filled with endless grief.
The projection of all five Grand Lords has appeared, and when they looked response of Grand Lords, their grief-filled eyes couldn't help but light up in approval.
They did not speak or even move, just watched in silence without asking any questions, as if expecting to receive them soon.
Bang!
The mirror shattered, but instead of its pieces, its pieces moved around and created a sort of formation, which began to shine.
The shine started off slow, but soon it had become so bright that even Grand Lords wouldn't be able to see who was beside them. The shine lasted for nearly three minutes before it began to mute rapidly till it had completely disappeared.
No change had occurred in the formation of the broken mirrors; it was still the same and in the same position, but now there was a translucent figure hanging there.
He is lord of glass.
"Teacher, d..did you die?" asked Lady Vivian in a shaking voice.
She had appeared just a few seconds ago; unlike her younger sister, her face was streaming down with tears, and she did not make any efforts to stop them.
"Yes, my dear students, I died. The Grimms have killed me." He replied as he looked at them with love and unwillingness, but there was also some acceptance of death.
"Winston, how? You should not have died, even if three or four have attacked you, and if you were willing to pay the price, you would have been able to escape through the mirror world," asked Matron Mavis.
It is very, extremly hard to kill people with Grand Art; they are very good at escaping, but the lord of glass had died, the first Grand Lord in three hundred years.
"The Grimms were extremly prepared, and Fazdr had become so powerful that now only you will be able to handle him, Mavis," he said, and everyone shuddered, especially the Grand Lord.
They are aware of how powerful matron Mavis is, and she is one of the biggest reasons why the Grimm had waited so long to begin this epochal war.
