Chapter 2599: Gathering
Chapter 2599: Gathering
"Thud!"
I fell onto the bed, and a second later, I was already a dreamland. The meeting lasted for four hours, and it was very tiring.
Choosing people for the battle is no easy task when the battle could be said to be the most important battle in a century. It is not just choosing people; it choosing a whole team for the best synergy and teamwork, which will bring out the greater result.
It was very late when I came out, and I am planning to rest till the afternoon; I will need my body and soul rested if I want to give my hundred percent tomorrow.
I was not in their battle plans, and when I had told him that I planned to join the battle, all of them rejected my proposal, including the Grand Lord. Looking at their reaction, it was clear that they did not want their golden hen anywhere near the battle.
This golden hen did not have any intention to stay cooped up in a pyramid, and I could be adamant and charming. After some charm and threats, my name is added to the battle plan, though they still tried to make me a part of ruined teams. I had enough of ruins; I wanted something dangerous and direct.
To their chagrin, I did get want I wanted; it would be very dangerous but also very exciting.
I woke up in the afternoon, a few minutes before my clone could wake me up. I am feeling rested in body and soul, which I hadn't felt in the week, and I also felt the memories and new comprehension I had got through my clone.
Now, they do not feel weird anymore as they used to.
As usual, my clone did great work as I had slept; it had worked on the Grandmaster Inheritance, done some research, practiced in the culinary tome, and studied. The forty hours it had inside my core was a huge time to do all those things, which again couldn't help me wonder about the things I would be able to achieve with more than one clone.
I did not waste any time by staying in bed; I quickly got up, freshened up, and showered before walking out of my room.
My mother is out, my father is working, and rose is at school; thankfully, my father has prepared a meal; I quickly ate it before walking out of the house.
Click!
I walked inside the conference room; unlike the past week, it was completely empty.
While I gave given the rousing speech about not resting even for a second yesterday, I gave them rest for today. Everyone is on leave, from lower-level staff to the highest, and all of them need it after what they have gone through the past week.
Today is the day we are going to attack the Grimms, but there is some time, and I like to finish up the work before I head there.
There is already work waiting for me; nine boxes are placed in front of my seat. The boxes contain the information seed and are divided into five different colors.
They belong to the people of different states, from those above Knights to those who reached the King, Emperors, and the Tyrant class. I have scans of most of them, but I kept reviewing them, as many go through different experiences, found different resources, and practiced different methods.
It changes things inside them, which might make them compatible with my methods; there is another reason to review them continuously, and that is for the traitors.
The Grimm spies are everywhere, and I have already found thousands of them, but thousands are still able to evade my method. Most of those able to evade were the ones that were brainwashed; there was no external elemental used on them other than pure brainwashing.
These spies are the most dangerous ones and are able to infiltrate to the highest level.
I shook my head and focused on reviewing the seeds, which had also undergone huge changes in the past nine months. Each seed now stores more than a thousand scans, and these scans are much better and aligned toward the things I need for one to become the subject of the projects.
There is nothing new in most of them, except for people who had broken out of the Knight stage; there is great potential.
I had noticed in the past nine months that the people that broke out of the knight stage in the past eight months are generally stronger than their predecessors. This information is nothing new. For thousands of years, we have known that it is during wartime we produced the strongest powerhouses.
The pressure of war and the constant battles make one harness their greatest potential, but it is also the truth that we lost immutable people in it.
Even now, millions are dying by the month, and the cemeteries are endless with graves; even I don't know how many funerals I have attended.
I wish the war would stop, but it is not something that could be stopped, especially this war, which might only end when one side is truly wiped out.
Hun!
About an hour passed when my clone suddenly stopped and seeing we were connected, I knew what stopped it and couldn't help but stop.
"This is really interesting," I said as I looked at the meta-scan of the Emperor class powerhouse. I have looked at his scans five times in these nine months, and there was nothing interesting about him other than his progress, but now something interesting has appeared.
My clone and I studied the scan for a minute before I added his name to the list and added three stars to his name. He will be a good addition to the project.
Another two hours passed, and I stopped; there were still hours of work remaining, but it would be done by my clone while I went to go there.
Buzz!
Seeing it was time, I walked toward the formation and inserted the coordinates the council provided. A second later, the formation buzzed, and I disappeared and appeared in the white hall, which was big enough for a few hundred people to stand.
There were already a few people present there, all of them were High Grandmaster.
"Micheal, I knew you would be here," shouted Rai as he saw me, "Rai," I said before turning to two people to who he was speaking. A beautiful woman with ocean blue hair and an old man with a scarlet mane.
"Lady Atkins, Lord Maske," I greeted them; Lady Atkins had been summoned back from the navar ruin yesterday, while Lord Maske was of reserve High Grandmaster; many thought he was dead decades ago during his breakthrough into the High Grandmaster class, but obviously he was not.
"Lord Zaar," they greeted back.
"So, today is the day we will be attacking those bastards for they did," he said with a fire burning in his eyes, "Yes, they will pay," I said.
Nobody is being told what they have been summoned for, but one does not need to be a genius to understand that after seeing more than ten High Grandmasters gathering in one place.
