Chapter 35 - A Lesson On Cruelty! I
Chapter 35 – A Lesson On Cruelty! I
At this moment in time, it was not just Academy City that had an airship appear above their skies.
Multiple other cities had a shimmering golden light descending from the airships like a bomb as they smashed onto the center of their city, causing widespread mayhem and casualty as a GOLD Ranked Blessed was sent on each airship!
The Gold experts on the ships were accompanied by over a hundred SILVER rank experts and thousands in the bronze rank.
It was such an overpowering force that the unprepared cities that had at most tens of beings in the silver rank and a few thousand in the bronze as the vast majority were in the iron rank.
None of these beings could withstand a trained army that was there for subjugation!
A war had begun, and with it came with immense horrors nobody would ever wish to experience in their lives.
In Academy City.
"We have to move and fast!"
The stern voice of Noah's father rang out clearly as he grabbed the hands of Annalise and Evelyn while he began sprinting to the outer peripheries of the city.
The father of this family had analyzed the situation thoroughly as he chose to run in the next moment that the flashes of silver and bronze lights began to spread throughout the city!
If they did not want to heel under the subjugation of this invading force, they had to rush out of the city and go deeper into the Light Continent towards the Imperial Capital that had much more powerful city states surrounding it that were filled with silver rank experts and even those in the gold rank!
Noah found himself running beside his family as the 5th Princess kept up with them with a somber expression.
She seemed extremely conflicted as she didn't know what to do, but the voice of Noah's father continued to ring out as they made their way across the chaotic streets.
"Keep running!"
RUMBLE!
Many beings could be seen running around haphazardly, their faces filled with fear as not too far from them- the sounds of fighting could be heard.
The screams of fighting and the sounds of people dying!
BOOM
The street in front of them cracked as a figure landed.
The party of 5 instantly turned as they avoided the silver flash that just descended down to instantly go in another direction!
BOOM!
Yet the area they turned to also had another silver light descending down as it caused the earth below it to crack.
They breathed hard as they came to a stop.
They weren't the only ones boxed in as multiple other inhabitants of Academy City were pooled in a circle as from three directions, the powerful color of Silver blocked all sides!
Not long after, the glimmers of multiple bronze experts appeared as each of them carried bloodied weapons as they looked coldly towards the beings around them.
"Kneel!"
The word was uttered from the Silver Ranked Blessed that held pristine swords and a razor sharp armor.
It was a single word, a command that had to be followed!
Multiple powerful Silver and Bronze Blessed enemies surrounded them.
It was an impossible situation!
Some beings in the iron and bronze rank near Noah's family could not help it as their legs buckled and they fell to the ground, shaking in shame and fear as they could do nothing but kneel.
Noah's father had a difficult expression as he looked at all sides, his eyes then landing on his family behind him!
Noah stepped forward as he saw the dangerous eyes of the silver and bronze blessed around them.
These beings weren't like the heavily injured assassin he had been able to ambush and kill in the past, with each of them armored to the tee as he knew even if he summoned his Bronze Beasts, they would not be able to change the situation!
His eyes went towards his father as they spoke with their eyes. It was another time where father and son communicated with only their eyes as their intentions were understood by both sides.
Noah saw this being telling him that for now, they would simply have to kneel and bear the shame as they truly did not have the strength to stand against their enemies.
They had to kneel!
THUMP!
Noah felt his heart beat clearly as the feeling he never wanted to experience- the feeling of others stronger than him standing atop him as he couldn't even control his life…this fear of his since he arrived in the Ethereal Realm had actually become a reality.
More knees fell on the ground shamefully as Noah's father was the first, his strong arms pushing on his wife and daughter to go down as well. The 5th Princess also fell to the ground as one could see a veil covering her head that prevented others from seeing her head full of silver hair!
Noah felt extreme shame as his knees were about to fall down as well, knowing the situation was extremely dangerous as too many enemies surrounded them at this moment.
Even if he called forth his 2 Bronze Pets…it wouldn't be of help against the 3 powerful Silver Blessed and multiple Bronze ones that boxed him and multiple others on all sides!
So his body shook as this transmigrator for the first time ever…went to the ground and kneeled.
…!
His eyes were red as since arriving in this new place, he fell to the lowest point.
Yet in the crowd of Blessed that were kneeling, there were a few that were either too brave or too prideful to kneel.
In this crowd, it was the figure of an elderly woman who held the hands of a little girl.
Her expression was adamant as one could sense weak fluctuations of the bronze rank from her, her aged face looking towards the powerful enemies around them as she didn't have a sense of fear.
"The people of the Light Continent do not kneel to subjugators!"
The voice of the elderly woman resonated across the destroyed square as those kneeling heard it, their heart being shaken as the shame they felt threatened to flood out.
The Silver Ranked Blessed nearby kept his cold look on his face as his eyes turned to this elderly woman and child.
Both the elder and young child seemed to have no fear in their eyes as they chose to stand for something!
Alas…
SHAA
A silver light flashed. A sword was drawn.
THUNK!
The head of the elderly woman that had spoken in revolt was severed cleanly as it fell to the ground.
"…"
People looked around in a stupor as they saw the mercilessness of their enemies, the silver expert looking around towards the few people that were still standing as a sword aimed towards them as well.
Back in the area where the head of an elderly woman lay on the ground, the shaking hands of the young child that still held on to the hand of her grandmother could be seen.
This child had a lost expression as she tried to register the scene in front of her, her little face looking at the grandma and then at being that had taken the head off of her!
Tears had begun to fall out of her face as she looked at the ground and grabbed onto a nearby rock, her little hands wrapping around it and throwing it towards the silver rank Blessed that had taken her grandmother away from her.
The stone was harmless, really, one that would not even harm even an iron-ranked blessed.
But the silver commander turned around and looked at the child that had defiantly thrown it towards him.
His face remained cold and impassive as to the shock of everyone there, he began to move towards the child with his sword raised high!
….!
Alarm and shock wrapped and crossed the minds of many, but nobody moved as their legs trembled in fear! Nobody…moved but a single person.
This person stood up from her kneeling position with a strong expression in her eyes as she called forth righteously!
"Really? You would even harm a child?!"
The voice was extremely striking as it held a stinging tone towards the powerful silver blessed with the cold expression.
Noah's heart sank as he heard this voice, his shaking eyes rising up to see the figure of his mother- of Evelyn angrily looking towards the ruthless Silver Blessed that was about to raise their hands against a child!
The scene that played out next was something that Noah would never forget for the rest of his life.
As he kneeled on the ground feeling his weakness and shame…as he kneeled to the ground because of his fear of losing his own life and of his family around him…he saw a flash of silver light!
This flash of light was extremely fast as Noah was barely able to follow it, this light going towards the figure of the woman that had stood up to protect an innocent child.
This flash of light passed through her neck seamlessly as yet another head fell to the ground.
PAH!
…!
Shock! Stupor! Horror!
