Before Xiao Fang left the Black Paradise sect last night, Su Yun told him that she'd find a way he could skip class without getting in trouble. The classes had formations around them preventing clones from going inside, so her plan was to get her older sister to teach her class outside instead.
"Don't do anything too risky. I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble because of me," Xiao Fang said.
Su Yun smirked at him the way she usually did, then she started walking towards the door after she finished getting dressed.
"I'll be leaving first. Wait here till I come back with some good news," she said before leaving.
Once she was gone, Xiao Fang could feel Jiang Mei getting more comfortable in the bed as she cuddled against him, eventually dropping her head down to his lap.
Xiao Fang gently combed her hair with his fingers before moving her hair back behind her ear. Seeing the side of her beautiful face, he gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, making the corner of her lips curl up into a pretty smile.
"Are you still tired?" he asked.
Jiang Mei nodded without taking her head off his lap.
"Sleep for a bit longer. I will wake you up before I go," he said as he comfortably massaged her scalp.
"I want to stay like this," she replied.
Xiao Fang had no problem staying in bed with her for a few more minutes, but shortly after he started massaging her head, her breathing began to change and her eyes slowly closed shut.
She looked so peaceful when she was like this, so he didn't want to disturb her. However, whenever he stopped scratching her scalp, she would just move her head a bit as if to tell him to keep going.
"Fang," she said softly.
"Yes?"
"Your family are good people right?"
Xiao Fang was a bit taken aback by her question, but he only stopped massaging her head for a brief second before he kept going.
"Why do you ask?" Xiao Fang asked.
"It's just... You seemed a bit anxious when you brought them up earlier."
"Anxious?" Xiao Fang echoed her words skeptically.
Although he was confident that his father wouldn't kill him, he didn't know why they would keep him sealed in that sealing formation. He didn't want Jiang Mei to worry about him, so he didn't say anything about it. However, it seemed Jiang Mei was still able to guess something was wrong all on her own.
"Fang... will you be alright?" she asked sleepily.
"Mn... I'll be fine... Go to sleep now. If you dream about me, make sure I'm rich and powerful so that I can give you the world," Xiao Fang said jokingly.
Jiang Mei smirked when she heard his words, but only a few moments later he could tell that she had fallen asleep.
Carefully getting out of bed, he walked towards the door, but stopped to look back at her before opening it.
'Have I become soft?' He thought.
He was always good at controlling his thoughts and emotions since his grandfather told him that his enemies could use it against him, and that it would compromise his decision-making during critical situations.
Taking a moment to analyze himself, he eventually came to the conclusion that he was a bit anxious, but not enough for it to be apparent to anyone around him.
'It seems she knows me better than I know myself,' Xiao Fang thought with a smirk.

Meanwhile, waiting in the lobby for him was Lai Yun. She was a bit disappointed that he didn't come visit her at night, but she also thought it might've been a good thing because Chen Li had threatened her not to sleep with him yesterday.
Thinking about Chen Li, she was reminded that she wanted her to dig up some dirt on Xiao Fang by this evening.
'Damn it. What exactly does she want me to find anyways,' Lai Yun thought.
She tried asking her guildmates about him, but it seemed as if they were as ignorant as her.
Since she was unable to learn anything about him from her guildmates, she thought she might as well just ask him directly.
'If I'm going to make him talk, I'll need to seduce him first,' she thought. 'But how am I supposed to do that when he can't even see me?' she sighed.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, Lai Yun saw Xiao Fang passing through the lobby.
"Ah, Long Wang, wait up," she said before catching up to him.
"Hm?" Xiao Fang turned to look at her, but the moment he did Lai Yun suddenly stopped and her eyes widened as she stared at him.
"What's wrong?" Xiao Fang asked while giving her a weird look.
"Y-Y-Your eyes," she said as she pointed at him.
Playing with his blindfold in his hands, Xiao Fang was lost at thought thinking about Jiang Mei when he exited his bedroom, so he forgot that Lai Yun hadn't seen his eyes yet.
"Ah that... you didn't think I was really blind did you?" He tried to play it off as if it were no big deal.
The truth was that Lai Yun never thought Xiao Fang was really blind at all, she was just awestruck by the color of his eyes. Without realizing it, her palms became sweaty, her heartbeat got faster, and her lower region became tingly.
Seeing that his eyes were already starting to take an effect on her, he finally put his blindfold back on, but it was too late.
"Is there something you need?" he asked.
"Ah... I... no... it's nothing," she replied.
Again, Xiao Fang gave her a strange look, but didn't think too much into it.
Seeing him walk away, Lai Yun placed her hands on her warm face, feeling the warmth of her cheeks on her palms.

"Wait," Xiao Fang suddenly said.
"Yes?" she quickly replied and faced him.
"There's something I've been meaning to speak to you about. Meet me in my office in 5 minutes."
"You want to speak to me about something?"
"Office, 5 minutes," he repeated before walking in the direction he was a second ago.
She didn't know why he wanted to talk to her, but judging by his tone she assumed it wasn't good.
As Lai Yun suspected, Xiao Fang didn't have anything good planned for her. Since she had decided to abandon her responsibilities yesterday, Yuan Fei ended up spending 500 merit points to buy 150 merit points worth of low quality herbs. Since this affected the perfume business he was heavily invested in, he wasn't going to let her off easy.
