NECROPOLIS IMMORTAL

Chapter 2134: Hand

Chapter 2134: Hand

There were so many roads out there; it was hard to say which was correct and which was incorrect. But there was a saying on Earth that the southern shafts of a cart run counter to northern tracks.

Some chose the path that would lead to the pinnacle of subjectivity affecting objectivity, but somehow, their selected path ended up leading in another direction. The worlds that the powerhouses of the nihil cultivated were a prime example of this.

Rather than pure power of heaven and earth, their worlds contained various attributes. This power could travel to the end of a great path, but it could not truly affect the objectivity of the nothing.

For the nothing, all great daos and all powers were meaningless. The only things that could exist among the nihil were heaven and earth and a complete world.

Only a complete heaven and earth could survive in the nothing. Only a complete world would find its footing and put down roots to truly affect the nihil.

But now, Lu Yun felt that this path wouldn’t reach the end he wanted either. Therefore, he decided to take on another path and refine the nothing!

It was still the path of cultivating a complete heaven and earth, but the complete heaven and earth was its focus. The path didn’t revolve around affecting the nothing. Instead, the cultivator became part of the nothing, then extracted themselves from it to slowly refine and control the nothing.

The nothing was objective and lacked consciousness. That meant it was wholly without meaning and contained the power to protect itself. Taking this path to the end would eventually enable Lu Yun to take control of the entire nothing.

He’d already glimpsed the doorway and refined a tiny hint of nothing to show for his efforts.

……

Lu Yun’s lips curved upward as he stood up and looked above him.

An immense hand had appeared over his head at some point in time and created a tiny patch of something. A pair of faded black eyes above the hand regarded him silently.

“You’ve been watching me for a while, do you have something to say?” Lu Yun tilted his head back and addressed the eyes.

“The heaven and earth you shared with Motong is different from what you used to kill the Inferno city lord,” came an aloof voice from above the eyes.

They were indeed different. Lu Yun had shared a cultivation method from the void realm of immortal dao with Motong. It was one that resulted in pure power of heaven and earth and collected it into one’s body.

What Lu Yun had used to kill Inferno was an external circulation of heaven and earth. It was a way of using heaven and earth that could impact the objectivity of the nothing.

“Hand it over and I will permit you to live,” the eyes said coldly.

“Heh,” Lu Yun snorted with laughter. “Your greed indeed knows no bounds.”

He could tell that the hand and eyes of faded black were part of the same body—they were the remnants of some powerhouse that’d died. Their life force was so strong that even their remaining limbs had become sentient and set foot on the path of cultivation again.

Bam!

Instead of answering, the giant hand struck downward.

Beings of the nothing were very decisive. They attacked at the slightest hint of disagreement. No mercy was possible if one wanted to survive in this environment.

Lu Yun’s tiny patch of something was immediately eroded through by the corrosive force emanating from the palm. He narrowed his eyes and vanished on the spot, reappearing over the hand.

BOOM.

He stretched out his hand and slapped the hand with his own corrosive strength, catching it off guard and breaking it to pieces.

However, the broken sections immediately transformed into thousands of small hands that swirled toward Lu Yun from all directions. Each of them bore terrifying corrosive force and the void shook from their fight, turning into a massive battlefield.

Both the city lords of nothing and Saviors closely observed the proceedings. The archenemies somehow reached a tacit agreement to just watch and refrain from interfering.

“How is this possible?!” the voice exclaimed when Lu Yun easily blocked all of the hands.

“What isn’t possible?” he sneered as a tremendous power of heaven and earth circulated around him—the external circulation of heaven and earth.

Since he’d caught a glimpse of the true path, the power of heaven and earth or the external circulation didn’t matter to him anymore. Anyone who wanted to see it was free to observe it, he’d never intended to keep his knowledge to himself.

He had even stronger aces up his sleeve; whoever dared run afoul of him would die.

The power of heaven and earth exploded like tidal waves, sweeping through the nothing and turning whatever it touched into existence, forming worlds. These worlds appeared and died in the blink of an eye, their longevity mere flashes in the nihil.

Lu Yun was letting loose with everything he commanded.

The hand was as weak as paper in the face of battle strength that’d almost reached the pinnacle. It didn’t even have time to beg for mercy before Lu Yun destroyed it on the spot.

“It’s not a Savior or a city lord, who was that clown?” Lu Yun stood with his hands behind his back and surveyed the surroundings. His clear voice carried through the void, but everyone shivered and no one dared answer.

He’d thought the hand was part of the Saviors at first, but the Saviors in the surroundings had also been startled by the hand. Plainly, it wasn’t one of them.

“Affecting objectivity with subjectivity?” the Darkness city lord broke the silence with a conflicted voice. “Have you reached that step already??”

“Affecting objectivity with subjectivity?” Lu Yun snorted. “It would be my doomsday if I set foot in the pinnacle.”

Using subjectivity to affect the objective meant to use one’s own strength to influence the nothing. The nothing was objective and didn’t have any strength to resist. But to affect objectivity was like an ant trying to shake a tree. The only outcome would be a merciless crushing by objectivity and then assimilation.

Just like that unparalleled existence back in the day.

A meteor streaking through the firmament thought it lit up the night sky, but it ultimately returned to the nothing and burned away to ashes.

Stars shone brightly in the night sky because they were part of the cosmos. Their fate was also to fall silent in nirvana.

Darkness furrowed his brows, not entirely understanding Lu Yun. But since the young man could easily destroy the hand, that meant his strength was on par with it.

“Do you want to become a Savior, or do you want to join us cities of nothing?” he asked after a moment of silence.

“Darkness, he is a Savior.” Someone walked out from the other faction’s side as soon as he finished speaking. He bore a small world on him and strode through the void.

“Did Motong make it back?” Lu Yun raised a brow.

“She’s dead,” the newcomer replied after a brief hesitation. “The hand killed her on her way back to us.”

“I see.” Lu Yun nodded, not affected by the news. If she was dead, then the cultivation method he’d shared hadn’t been delivered to the Saviors.

No wonder they looked at him with complicated expressions.
