Chapter 273.2 – Verdant Luan's Chirp
Chapter 273.2 – Verdant Luan’s Chirp
High-grade cauldron mystic instruments were as valuable as mystic treasures. Only huge sects like the Sky Cleaving Sword Sect were able to afford giving them to Blood Condensation Realm disciples.
Apart from Yue Jiang-Rui, who was a renowned Quasi-Master Alchemist, everyone else was using mid-grade cauldrons. Hence, they were all surprised to see the Sky Cleaving Sword Sect alchemist suddenly pull out a high-grade cauldron.
Everyone realized that the other four alchemy geniuses from the major sects must also have their own high-grade cauldrons as well!
Immediately, the alchemists looked at the other four alchemy geniuses and noticed that they didn’t seem surprised upon seeing the high-grade cauldron, proving their speculations.
Lu Ping looked at the Sky Cleaving Sword Sect’s alchemist and pondered on why he looked so calm and confident. A moment later, Lu Ping suddenly realized the answer.
Among the different types of battle pellets, there was a special type known as the Sword Pellet. It was created by a sword cultivator who was also a genius at alchemy. Sword Pellets contained a sword cultivators’ proudest and strongest sword art.
Through Sword Pellets, not only could disciples learn their teachers’ sword art, the pellets could also be activated during critical times to save their lives. Additionally, Sword Pellets could replace Blood Condensing Pellets for sword cultivators.
Therefore, as a sword sect, the Sky Cleaving Sword Sect naturally would have preserved the methods to concoct Sword Pellets. So, it wasn’t a surprise that this alchemist knew about battle pellets.

Suddenly, exclamations of surprise could be heard one after another from the crowd as the alchemical geniuses took out their high-grade cauldrons to concoct the battle pellets.
As more and more alchemists started their alchemy, Lu Ping recalled the pellet recipe carefully in his mind. After making sure that everything had been committed to heart, he opened his spirit pet pouch.
A long and loud chirp full of joy suddenly spread out far and wide as Lu Qin spread her wings and leaped onto Lu Ping’s shoulder. Lu Ping was caught by surprise from her loud chirp, and quickly stopped her from making any more noise, causing Lu Qin to shake her head with dissatisfaction.
Lu Ping quickly cast out a soundproof barrier inside the cloud room. However, it was still too late, as many alchemists were affected by the noise and glared unhappily at Lu Ping.
Lu Ping took out his mid-grade cauldron, and turned towards Lu Qin to discuss with her. Whilst she looked extremely reluctant at first, she quickly became excited when Lu Ping promised her something. Then, she spurted out a green fire from her mouth towards the bottom of the cauldron, the heatwaves from which caused the cloud room to shake.
Yue Jiang-Rui, and the others watching him, immediately knew where the green fire that Lu Ping had used when concocting the Replantation Pellet, came from. However, Lu Ping still didn’t know that Lu Qin’s chirp had attracted a lot of attention.
Yue Jiang-Rui’s expression was currently gloomy. It wasn’t because of the Verdant Luan on Lu Ping’s shoulder, but rather due to the battle pellet. Whilst he was always confident in his alchemy, battle pellets weren’t just about alchemy. Battle pellets were also about his strength as a cultivator, which was precisely his weak point.
In the early days of his cultivation, Yue Jiang-Rui had been too focused on alchemy such that he had taken various shortcuts to improve his cultivation base. By the time he had realized, his cultivation foundation was greatly damaged and beyond repair.
Yan Wu-Jiu, who was conversing with Great Ancestor Hong Ye, suddenly stopped talking and turned his head towards Lu Ping’s direction. He saw Lu Ping discussing with the Verdant Luan during his alchemy.
Great Ancestor Hong Ye casually said, “This little fellow treats his spirit pet well, he hasn’t restricted her with any seals.”
While the soundproof barrier might stop others, it definitely couldn’t stop these two, so they had clearly heard the discussion between Lu Ping and Lu Qin.
Yan Wu-Jiu smiled softly, and said, “Great Ancestor, don’t worry. There are many human spirit pets too in our monster race. Although she is one of my own kind, her master clearly takes good care of her, so I will naturally not find trouble with him. Great Ancestor, why do you seem so nice to this junior disciple?”

Great Ancestor Hong Ye smiled back, and said, “Everyone knows that you’re the most protective one around here. His alchemy is solid so it won’t be difficult for him to reach the top-16 and secure a place in the Mauve Moon Minor World. It’d be a pity if I let you kill him.”
Yan Wu-Jiu nodded understandingly, and said, “So the rumor is true. The Northern League’s Mauve Moon Minor World is really on the verge of disintegration.”
Great Ancestor Hong Ye nodded helplessly, and sighed, “The Mauve Moon Minor World is one of our earliest world-like mystic treasures. It has a long history and contains the inheritances of our many predecessors. Although the majority of the heritage has been transferred to other minor worlds, a small portion wasn’t. Right now, the senior martial brothers are trying their best to maintain its structure, but the world is so weak that only Blood Condensation Realm cultivators can enter. “
Yan Wu-Jiu thought for a moment, and asked, “Are the inheritances in Mauve Moon Minor World really just for alchemists? Is that why only Blood Condensation Realm alchemists can enter it?”
Great Ancestor Hong Ye nodded, “Exactly, otherwise why would we orchestrate such a big show to attract the most outstanding Blood Condensation Realm alchemists across the East Ocean to join us? Our Northern League has many talented disciples who stand on par with the Enlightened Masters, but only a few of them are alchemists.”
Yan Wu-Jiu had learned a lot of information from Great Ancestor Hong Ye, but before he could digest what he had learnt, the Great Ancestor suddenly laughed, and asked, “Is she so special that you have to inspect her so much?”
Yan Wu-Jiu laughed bitterly, “I knew it wouldn’t be easy to get information from you.”
Every conversation was an exchange, so in order to receive information, one also had to give out some information. As the two were exchanging information, the alchemists were busy concocting their Battle Intention Pellets.
Unlike conventional pellets which could have ten pellets per cauldron, Battle Intention Pellet could only lead to one pellet per cauldron. Hence, the Northern League prepared two cauldrons of ingredients.
Out of caution, Lu Ping didn’t seal an offensive spell in the first pellet. Instead, he chose to seal a relatively easy defensive spell, the [Water Sky Curtain].
As Lu Qin had reached the Ninth Layer Blood Condensation Realm, her Verdant Luan Fire was much stronger than before. Furthermore, Lu Ping and Lu Qin were close comrades with a tacit understanding between them, so their cooperation went smoothly. The battle pellet was currently in the condensation phase and would soon condense from a paste into a pellet.
Technically, Lu Ping had never made any mystic instruments with his own hands before, including his nascent weapons, the Primordial Stars. Their natural quality was already high enough that he only needed to carve Arcane Inscriptions, and refine them with his arcane energy.
However, because he had a friend like Chen Lian who was obsessed with smithing, Lu Ping had a shallow understanding of smithing as well. Additionally, Lu Ping’s first profession was actually charm-crafting. Hence, the battle pellet was not particularly a new thing for him to venture into.
Sure enough, the alchemy went smoothly. During the condensation stage, he was surprised to find that the quality of the pellet was beyond his expectations. It seemed that the purification technique had a significant effect on battle pellets.
This made sense, since the purification technique Lu Ping used was modified from the [Spirit Fire Refinement and Purification Technique], which was originally meant for smithing. It was true, battle pellets weren’t just about alchemy, they also included other professions like smithing.
As he now knew that the purification technique could raise the pellet’s quality to an ideal level, Lu Ping didn’t have to worry that the next pellet couldn’t contain his massive Sword Intent!
