Chapter 5307 Crisis
Chapter 5307 Crisis
“Hold on! Don’t let them break through our defenses!”
In front of Tianyu City, an expert with a sword in hand led Tianyu City’s experts against the tide of enemies, defending their fortifications with all their might. This was Tianyu City’s final defense line. If the enemies broke through, Tianyu City would fall, and everyone within would be crushed by the stone giants and bloodthirsty lions. freewebnøvel.coɱ
At the very front of the fortifications, a fierce battle was taking place. A group of experts from the Stone Spirit and Gold Lion races fought against a single warrior—Chu He. All on his own, Chu He held off the strongest fighters of both races. Wielding a long-handled broadsword, he faced dozens of enemies. Each swing of his blade shook the earth, forcing his foes back with the might of a nine-vein Human Emperor.
Chu He was drenched in blood, some of it his own, some from his enemies. Thanks to his efforts, the strongest experts of the two races were tied down, allowing Tianyu City to continue holding on.
“This old fogey suddenly got stronger! Don’t be afraid of him, this is just the final radiance of the setting sun! He’s at death’s door and won’t last long. We just need to stay steady, and he’ll fall!” shouted Jiang Yiming, the only human among Chu He’s attackers.
Though only a four-vein Human Emperor, Jiang Yiming’s aura was nearly as powerful as the six-vein Emperors of the Stone Spirit and Gold Lion races. Under his direction, the top experts encircled Chu He, focusing on defense to exhaust Chu He’s energy.
According to their information, Chu He was just a flickering flame on the verge of extinguishing, not worth fearing. Thus, they had rashly attacked.
Unbeknownst to them, Long Chen’s medicinal pill had replenished Chu He’s life energy. Hence, the instant an expert from the Stone Spirit race reached Chu He, one stroke of his sword sliced it in two.
In the initial clash, Chu He had slain and severely injured several powerful enemies. But by joining forces, they somehow managed to hold him back.
Chu He was well aware of his own situation. Long Chen’s medicinal pill might have replenished a certain amount of his longevity, but it could not change the fact that he had grown old. He couldn’t maintain this level of power for long.
Thus, Chu He had instantly exploded with his full power to eliminate some of the enemy’s forces. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as he wished. The sheer number of opponents, including dozens of six-vein Emperors and two seven-vein Emperors, quickly suppressed him under Jiang Yiming’s direction.
Since Jiang Yiming had once been Chu He’s disciple, he knew his master’s fighting style well and used that knowledge to keep Chu He off-balance. The mere sight of Jiang Yiming made Chu He’s killing intent surge. Several times, he tried to kill the traitor, but he failed each time.
At one point, Jiang Yiming had even used himself as bait, luring Chu He into an ambush that left him injured.
“Jiang Yiming, you traitor, you won’t meet a good end!” roared Chu He.
Jiang Yiming laughed arrogantly. “Even if I don’t, you won’t live to see it. But I’ll definitely see your end, old man.”
Chu He’s aura started to weaken, his power clearly flagging as his Blood Qi was nearly depleted. Seeing this, dozens of experts unleashed a torrent of attacks on him.
His sword continued to dance, sending waves of Sword Qi through the air, but his energy was quickly waning. Each swing was weaker than the last, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. The overwhelming pressure of his enemies was beginning to take its toll.
Meanwhile, the defensive fortifications strained under the weight of the enemy assault. The younger generation of Tianyu City’s defenders fought valiantly, but the endless tide of enemies showed no signs of slowing. It seemed like only a matter of time before they were completely overrun.
Desperation filled the air. If this continued, everyone in the city would be killed. Li Yunhua watched helplessly as her comrades fell one by one. She couldn’t stop her gaze from drifting toward the distant horizon, toward the mysterious land they had once spoken of.
Regret gnawed at her. They should never have told Long Chen about that place. He was gone, and he would never return. As soon as he had left, the two enemy races had seized the opportunity to launch their all-out assault.
Now, with their defenses on the brink of collapse, Li Yunhua clenched her teeth and stepped forward.
“Senior apprentice-sister Yunhua, what are you doing?!” a fellow disciple cried out in alarm.
Ahead of them was the battlefield of Emperors. If they went, they would be sending themselves to their deaths.
Tianyu City’s eighteen thousand newly risen Human Emperors were fighting at the front. Many had already fallen, leaving gaps in the defensive line, which increased the pressure on the junior disciples behind them.
Li Yunhua clenched her teeth and charged toward the battlefield. Only by killing the Human Emperors could they hope to turn the tide. Even knowing it was suicidal, she pressed forward.
BOOM!
Just as she charged in, a Human Emperor from Tianyu City was blasted back by a Stone Spirit expert. That Stone Spirit Human Emperor was about to stomp the injured Emperor when Li Yunhua’s sword struck its head.
Her sword became lodged partway through the Stone Spirit’s head, and she coughed up blood from the exertion.
“Die!” the enraged Stone Spirit Emperor bellowed, launching a fist toward her.
“Senior apprentice-sister Yunhua!” someone cried out in horror.
Suddenly, a sharp sound rang out. The Stone Spirit Emperor split in two, and standing behind it was a young man with a pitch-black saber.
“Senior apprentice-brother Long Chen!” Li Yunhua exclaimed in relief and joy.
“Sorry for being late. Leave the rest to me.” Long Chen nodded to her.
“Waning Moon Breaks the Dome of the Heavens!”
An eight-colored divine ring appeared behind Long Chen as Evilmoon rumbled in his hands. A black crescent moon shot out from the edge of the saber, starting small but rapidly expanding until it stretched miles across the battlefield. It was like a black fang slicing over the battlefield.
Only three-vein Emperors and stronger could survive the attack, and even they were thrown back. In one strike, Long Chen cleared the majority of the battlefield, leaving rivers of blood and lifeless bodies in its wake.
Li Yunhua and the others were all stunned, unable to believe what they were seeing. It was just a single slash of the saber, but it instantly emptied most of the battlefield.
Without Tianyu City’s experts in the way, Long Chen’s attack would have annihilated all their enemies in one blow.
With Evilmoon resting on his shoulder, Long Chen shot toward Chu He’s battlefield, his saber aimed directly at Jiang Yiming.
