Chapter 460 - 460: The Curse
Chapter 460 – 460: The Curse
His mouth watered at the thought of his teeth sinking into her nipple, drawing her blood as his fingers slid in and out of her wetness. He could see her writhing beneath him, her soft wet mouth slightly parted as she whimpered and cried in pleasure. The alpha licked the edge of his fangs, slowly rising from his seat, watching the ignorant princess nibble on her food like a predator ready to pounce on his prey.
Suddenly, he felt an ice-cold touch grip his hand. Liam hissed, turning to his right. But it died down halfway as he met a pair of sparkling gray eyes. His eyes widened as a cool feeling spread throughout his body, extinguishing the flames of the curse within seconds. The alpha sat back, staring at the woman with his mouth agape.
"Care to explain?" Luna asked, raising her brows.
"Hmm?" Liam asked, still awestruck by the woman in front of him.
Who was she? And what more could she do? Had she lied to him about her not being a witch? If she wasn't, how then could she do what she did? A thousand questions swarmed in his mind. But most of all, he was now distracted by the way that her touch sent sparks of electricity through his body, tingling his senses in ways he didn't know it could.
"The spell," Luna said, as her eyes traveled down his body to the bulge between his legs.
The alpha cleared his throat, pulling his hand away from her grip in a swift move. "I don't know what you're talking about." He replied, turning back to his plate of now cold food.
Liam clenched his teeth, shifting in his seat uncomfortably as he readjusted his hardness, at least enough for it not to be so glaringly visible. He quickly glanced around the table. No one had noticed what had happened.
The alpha sighed, turning his eyes back to his hands under the table. He felt ashamed and weak in front of her gaze and her question- something that he had never felt in front of anyone in his life. He could feel her gaze on the slowly healing runes that were burned into his skin.
Liam pulled his sleeve down in embarrassment. The question hung in his mind. How could she see the curse in his blood, much less control it? What was her identity, after all? Was he being tricked into a curse once again, just as Alicia had done to him?
He heard her sigh. "Liam, I-"
'Alpha! We have an intruder on our grounds!' The voice boomed through the pack link, alerting everyone in the room at once- everyone but Alicia and Luna.
Liam stood up, tensed, the chair he was sitting on flying back with his strength. The pack followed suit, their eyes glowing in the light of the burning candles as they turned towards their alpha, startling the two women.
'Who is it?' The alpha asked, his heart beating nervously, the worst possibilities flashing through his mind.
His main concern was Luna. The moment he had seen her in William's hut, he knew that she was important to the man. If he were to come in search of her here, it could mean war. And they weren't prepared. Also, he had pissed off a minister of court only a while ago. He hadn't failed to notice the way that he had been looking at Luna. If the man were to barge into his mansion with his soldiers, then it could be an unnecessary bloodbath, he thought worriedly.
'It's a girl.' His guard's voice pushed through the pack link again. He paused for a second before adding in a much serious tone. 'She claims she's from the Hidden Island. Says that she's William's sister.'
The alpha turned towards his beta with wide eyes. Isaac beamed, basking in the glory of the feat that he had managed to achieve.
'I told you that she'd come.' The beta gloated, his voice only meant for his alpha's ears.
Liam huffed, shaking his head, all the nervousness disappearing from his mind in a fraction of seconds. "Isaac, you know what to do." He said, glancing at the princess.
Isaac nodded his head in agreement. It seems like fate was finally shifting sides. They now had a chance at winning, thanks to his beta's better judgment, he thought, the events of their bloody night on the Hidden Islands flashing in his mind.
"What is it?" Luna asked, finally rising from her chair.
The alpha turned towards her, his lips drawing into a thin line. If he were to take his chance with her, he had to put his trust in the woman, he thought, staring at the beautiful goddess with determination. Ignoring her question, he leaned towards her, reaching out to grab her hand without asking for permission. A look that was much similar to amusement took over her facial features as she let herself be pulled towards him.
"Let me go!" Alicia's shrill voice echoed through the room.
Both Liam and Luna turned towards the scene in curiosity. Isaac sighed, refusing to let go of the princess's hand as she struggled against his grip like a wild animal. Parts of her braid were coming undone and her neatly ironed dress was getting wrinkled. His beta looked like he was at his wit's end.
"Please come with me, princess," Isaac begged, trying to pull her towards the door. "We have to send you back."
Alicia resisted with all her will. "NO! I want to stay!" She exclaimed, flailing her hands as her face construed into the very personification of rage. She turned towards the alpha as she struggled against the man. "Liam! Tell me! What is happening?!" She asked, desperate to stay as her eyes welled with tears, noticing the way that the alpha held the woman's hand.
Liam sighed. "Isaac." He warned in a stern tone.
"Fine." The beta murmured, stepping back from the princess in defeat.
The alpha turned to Luna. "Come with me. I need your help." He said, the creases on his brows projecting his nervousness.
Luna nodded, letting him lead her through the room as the pack parted for the two of them half-heartedly. As they reached the other end of the table Isaac smiled, bowing at his alpha before turning to lift the princess up in his arms.
"Wait! Where are you taking her?!" Alicia's screams echoed from behind them as the alpha stepped out of the room with Luna leaning her head on his shoulder happily. "I said let me go! Liam! Liaaaaaammm!!!"
