Chapter 2339: Reaping the Consequences of One’s Words, Part Two
“Using the God Fishing Plaza as the center point, go left six hundred and seventy-nine zhang. Go another one hundred and twenty-seven zhang straight from the edge of the river. The area within a radius of thirty zhang…”
Qin Nan recalled Jiaye’s words. He ignored the crowd and counted his steps as he headed left.
Li Qitang, his men, the woman with a veil, the young girl with golden eyes, Xiao Li, the old man, and the rest of the cultivators were following behind him.
Even though they were sure of what the outcome was going to be, they were eager to see it in person.
Some of the Rulers of Dao were interested in seeing Qin Nan’s reaction after his trump card did not work on Huzun River.
“This is it.”
Qin Nan came to a stop and released his Master Force. It wrapped around the five fishing rods like strings of silk. He then flung the rods in the area within a radius of thirty zhang.
He had cast a few more lines as a safety precaution.
The bet between Qin Nan and Li Qitang had spread rapidly like the wind.
“Did you hear? Someone is having a bet at the God Fishing Plaza. If the person did not fish a Heaven Dao Seven Moons Stone, he’s going to kneel and apologize to the other man!”
“How is that possible? Is that man crazy?”
“HAHA, crazy? I bet he has always gotten his way in his life. He has yet to encounter any failure, thus he’s so full of himself!”
The other cultivators burst out laughing when they heard about the bet. They had treated Qin Nan as a laughing stock.
Certain cultivators who had time to spare purposely went to the God Fishing Plaza to see the bet in person.
A hundred breaths had soon passed.
The fishing rod on the left shuddered all of a sudden. The fishing rod started glowing as if it was imbued with a strong energy.
“He has caught a Heaven Dao Moon Stone!” someone blurted out.
Qin Nan pulled the fishing rod.
On the bait made of Heavenly River Wood hung a stone around the size of a palm with a similar shape to a fish. A pattern consisting of two crescents was seen at its center with a faint glow. It was releasing wisps of pure energy.
“HAHAHA, two crescents, it’s only a Heaven Dao Two Moons Stone!”
“Tsk tsk, his catch is worse than mine. I got a Heaven Dao Four Moons Stone for my first catch!”
The crowd burst out laughing.
The woman with a veil let out a sigh.
As a matter of fact, she would not want to see Qin Nan apologize to Li Qitang on his knees.
Qin Nan was a peak Master of Dao. If he did kneel in front of Li Qitang and embarrass himself, he might not be willing to help anyone again in the future.
The world would lose another person with a kind heart.
“HAHAHA!”
Li Qitang was laughing too. He looked at Qin Nan and said, “Now you know how challenging it is? Do you seriously think you can catch a Heaven Dao Seven Moons Stone with your petty trick? It’s time for you to fulfill your promise. Apologize to me on your knees!”
Qin Nan glanced at Li Qitang and said calmly, “I’m pretty sure I said I’m going to catch a Heaven Dao Seven Moons Stone in a day. It’s only been a hundred breaths. Why are you being so impatient?”
Li Qitang snorted, “I won’t get my hopes high if I were you. The outcome is only going to give you despair! You won’t even catch a Heaven Dao Six Moons Stone in ten days, let alone one day!”
Two of the rods started moving before Li Qitang could finish his sentence.
The man had caught some Heaven Dao Moon Stones again!
“Huh? Three pieces of Heaven Dao Moon Stones within a hundred breaths?”
The cultivators exchanged glances.
The woman with a veil could not help but stare at the rods even though she already knew the outcome.
Qin Nan pulled the rods and revealed two Heaven Dao Moon Stones.
However, each of them only had one crescent on it.
“Heaven Dao…One Moon Stones?”
The crowd was startled.
“HAHAHAHA!”
“I thought he can catch two Heaven Dao Three Moons Stones, but they only have one crescent on them!”
“He’s doing pretty well. I bet less than ten people have caught two Heaven Dao One Moon Stones at the same time in this year!”
Everyone was laughing at Qin Nan.
As for Qin Nan, he reset the bait and tossed the lines into the river again as if he did not hear the people laughing.
“That kid is pretty stubborn!”
“Unfortunately, he’s using it in the wrong place!”
“Yeah, let’s go, there’s no point staying here any further.”
Many cultivators shared their opinions after seeing the catch.
“Cultivator, there’s no need to keep going.”
The woman with a veil transmitted her voice, “At this rate, you are only going to embarrass yourself more. You should just admit your defeat and keep your promise. Once it’s done, I’ll give you a piece of Heart-Cleasning Dao Stone to help you get over it.”
Qin Nan replied with a smile, “Thanks for your concern, but it won’t be necessary. I’ll catch a Heaven Dao Seven Moons Stone pretty soon.”
Qin Nan had a good impression of the woman.
The two were only strangers, but she was willing to offer something so valuable to help him.
“You will catch it soon?” the woman felt like something was stuck in her chest.
“You really are something…whatever!”
The woman was angry.
In her eyes, Qin Nan was just being stubborn and naive. He knew he was going to fail, yet he was too stubborn to admit it.
He was naive for having too much self-confidence. He was supposed to accept the outcome.
She was disappointed in Qin Nan’s reaction.
The old man with Xiao Li was lost for words.
However, he turned to his side when he felt something.
The little girl with golden eyes stepped forward bravely and stood beside Qin Nan. She would look at Qin Nan occasionally.
She panicked when Qin Nan looked at her. She was about to turn around when she saw Qin Nan smiling at her. It managed to calm her down and stop her from feeling scared.
“Tsk tsk, that little b**ch is worried about you? It seems like I didn’t teach her well! I’m going to teach her a lesson once you are done apologizing to me on your knees!”
Li Qitang’s eyes flickered coldly.
The little girl shuddered. Her eyes were filled with fear. She was going to run away when a warm hand patted her shoulder.
At the same time, one of the rods started shaking.
