Chapter 1314: The Operation is a success
Chapter 1314: The Operation is a success
Inside the operation theater.
In front of the operating table.
It was quiet when Dong Xuebing finished the surgery.
The Primary Surgeon, the Deputy Surgeons, and nurses were at a loss of words.
Completing a suturing surgery in five seconds. They swore even the top surgeons in the world could not do it within five seconds.
However, this young man did it.
A Computer Science graduate did it.
Dong Xuebing looked at the unconscious Sun Kai and asked. “Blood pressure, heart rate.”
The nurse got back to her senses and looked at the machine quickly. “Blood pressure 55… 60… 65… Heart rate 58.”
It’s rising.
Sun Kai’s vitals were rising.
The nurse was overjoyed. “The blood pressure stabilized.”
Dong Xuebing was exhausted. He closed his eyes for a while and walked to a corner. He took off his gloves and rubbed his temples. “You all will do the rest.”
The nurse quickly gave Dong Xuebing a glass of water. “You… take a break. Thank you.”
Dong Xuebing gulped down the glass of water. It was a few seconds, but he was exhausted mentally.
The rest of the surgery is simple.
Dong Xuebing had completed the surgery's hardest part; the rest was to clean up and stitch up the wound.
The Primary Surgeon and his Deputies started suturing Sun Kai’s abdomen wound close.
Suture…
Bandage…
Medication…
Drip…
It’s done. The operation was completed.
Everyone was relieved, and they looked at the resting Dong Xuebing.
Outside.
Second-floor corridor.
More teachers and students arrived after they learned what happened to Teacher Sun. They all gathered in front of the operating theater.
“Where is Teacher Sun?”
“How is he?”
“Say something, Teacher Zheng.”
“Teacher Chen, how is Teacher Sun?”
A female teacher sniffed and said. “The doctor said they cannot save Teacher Sun even if they operate on him.”
“What?”
“Cannot be!”
The teachers and students, who just arrived, turned pale.
Sun Kai’s sister shouted. “Xiao Kai will be fine! He will be fine!”
Xie Jing clenched her teeth and said. “They are still operating on him. There’s still hope!”
Sun Kai’s Brother-in-law and father helped Sun Kai’s mother back. She walked slowly, and her eyes were all red.
“Why did you come back, Aunty?” Xie Jing stood up.
“Where is my son? How is he?” Sun Kai’s mother asked anxiously.
“He is still inside. We don’t know how he is.” Xie Jing helped Sun Kai’s mother to the chair. “How are you?”
Sun Kai’s father replied. “The doctor says she was too agitated and is fine now.”
Suddenly, the operating theater room door opened.
Everybody turned, and those seated stood up.
A doctor walked out. He was the Primary Surgeon who operated on Sun Kai. He had removed his mask and looked young.
“Doctor!”
“Where is Xiao Kai? Where is he?”
Everyone asked the doctor anxiously.
The doctor said Sun Kai would not survive earlier, and everybody was prepared for the worst. A few teachers turned away as they did not want to hear bad news.
Sun Kai’s parents and Xie Jing were the same.
What would happen to them if Sun Kai was gone?
The Surgeon looked at them. “Don’t worry. The patient is out of danger for the time being. Of course, his condition is still critical.”
Sun Kai’s mother screamed. “What?”
Sun Kai’s father asked agitatedly. “You… are you saying…?”
Xie Jing grabbed the Surgeon’s shoulder. “Sun Kai is fine now?”
The Surgeon nodded. “We removed the blade, and the surgery was a success. He is fine now but needs to remain in the hospital for further observation and treatment.”
Sun Kai’s mother burst out in tears. “Thank you! Thank you!”
Xie Jing was overjoyed. “Thank you, Doctor! Thank you!”
The students and teachers cheered. “One good turn deserves another. I knew Teacher Sun would be fine.”
“Thank you!”
“Thank you very much!”
Everybody thanked the Surgeon.
The two Deputy Surgeons and nurses came out.
The Primary Surgeon looked at Xie Jing. “Is that your Brother-in-law?”
“Yes. What’s wrong?”
“Did he study Computer Science?”
“Yes. He is a Computer Science graduate.”
The Primary Surgeon looked at his Deputies and nurses. They were speechless.
Xie Jing asked. “Why are you asking this?”
Sun Kai’s Sister interrupted. “That’s right. Didn’t you say the surgery was impossible to succeed? It must be completed within seconds, and no one can do it.”
Another teacher said. “That’s right. Why…”
The Primary Surgeon paused for a few seconds and said. “I thought no one could do this surgery. Even the fastest surgeon in the world requires a second to do a suture. That’s why we say no one can complete the suture within five seconds. No one’s hands could move so fast, and we concluded the patient could not be saved.”
“Then why?”
“That’s right. How did you save him?”
Xie Jing paused for a second and asked.
The Surgeon looked at Xie Jing. “We don’t deserve your thanks. We did not do much today. You should be thanking your Brother-in-law.”
Xie Jing was surprised. “Did my Brother-in-law do the surgery?”
Sun Kai’s parents, the teachers, and the students were shocked.
The Primary Surgeon nodded and looked towards the operating theater. “I had watched many surgeries and met famous surgeons. But I had never seen such fast hands. I said earlier that the best surgeon’s fastest suture is around 1 second, and…” He paused for a second and said. “Your Brother-in-law did seven sutures in one second.”
Seven sutures in one second?
Everybody was stunned.
This is seven times faster than the best surgeon!
“He used five seconds to remove the broken blade, disinfect the wound, and close the wound.” The Primary Surgeon said. “That’s why you should thank him. This surgery would not succeed without him.” He mumbled to himself. “Those hands… he is born to be a surgeon. Why… why did he study Computer Science?”
The other surgeons and nurses still could not accept it. It was unbelievable.
