Chapter 43: [Ancient ring of the Susurro]
Chapter 43: [Ancient ring of the Susurro]
Shane had never met his mother, but he had seen many pictures and the pure-white ring on her hand was the most distinct thing he could remember because the magnificent pitch-black dragon head with golden eyes looked magnificent.
He asked his father about the ring, but Shane never received a reply.
Or rather, Shane never heard his dad telling him anything about his mother, so he just imagined a gentle, beautiful woman he would have loved to meet.
Now with the ring in front of him, Shane couldn’t help but wonder, when he looked at the message from Uncle Max.
<It’s good that you wrote a message to John, but he seems enraged…Little Shane what exactly did you write in your message?! Nevertheless, John told me to send Sarah’s heirloom to you. This heirloom was found by all of us when we conquered an ancient ruin in an advanced dimension shortly before Sarah got pregnant. It should have been a present from your mother once you turn 16, but you know what happened. In the end, you received the heirloom, even though it was a little bit late. Congratulations!>
‘That ring is considered the heirloom of the Suro’s?’ Shane asked in his mind, when he took off the two mortal ranked spatial rings, to put his mother’s spatial ring on his ring finger.
Suddenly, the pitch-black inanimate dragonhead began to move, turning into a miniature oriental dragon manifestation, releasing an intimidating aura that caused Shane to not only be shocked but also unable to move a single millimeter.
Fortunately, he was in an empty alley where nobody could see him and the pitch-black dragon manifestation didn’t waste any time as it bit into his finger, where it absorbed a few drops of blood.
After a moment, that felt like an eternity, the dragon manifestation dissipated before it appeared on his spatial ring, where the pitch-black dragon head with golden eyes could be seen once again.
Still shocked, a notification appeared in his head.
[Direct descendant of ‘Sarah Suro’ has been identified]
[Ancient Ring of the susurro [Soul-2 (Extraordinary)] has been bound to host (Shane Suro)]
[Ancient ring of the Susurro regulated its status to host. Innate skill and blessing detected. Status upgraded]
Shane was still standing in the empty alley, but his eyes were enlarged.
`Soul-2 grade? What?` he couldn’t comprehend what happened at the moment and was too shocked about the oriental dragon’s appearance.
He decided to change locations when he noticed someone entering the empty alley in order to avoid attracting attention with his weird behavior.
Searching for an Inn, he was charged 50 bronze coins, which Shane ignored as he went into his room without wasting a single second for small-talk with the owner.
Inside the small room, Shane looked at his mother’s ring before he opened up its status panel, with high expectations.
__________
[Ancient ring of the Susurro [Mortal(Soul) – (Extraordinary)]
Spatial storage: [10.000(1M)cubic meter]
-Innate skill’s effects strengthened by 10%-
-Blessing enhanced by 10%-
-Small amplification in mana circulation and mana output-
_________
‘Hmmm?’ Shane’s eyes widened and he wasn’t able to think straight anymore as he saw his mother’s ring.
Not only was the ring an extremely large spatial ring but it had additional effects for Shane’s individual unique features like his Innate Skill and blessing.
As if that was not enough he also received a boost in his mana circulation and Mana output, which would help Shane in his cultivation and combat prowess as soon as he learned a skill or technique that required his mana output.
Shane’s body began to itch and he felt his mana pool increasing.
It seemed as if that was not solely the case for Shane but also for Umbra who twitched violently, almost falling to the ground.
Due to the enhancement of Shane’s Innate skill, Umbra’s quality, growing speed, and affinity received a small amplification.
This shocked Shane extremely and his mana pool stopped increasing in size by 3%.
It was truly shocking for Shane to find out that his mother obtained a [Soul-2 (Extraordinary)] item from an ancient ruin within an advanced dimension.
These were extremely dangerous and Shane could only praise his quasi families strength.
Because the ancient ring was bound to his mother for whatever reason, only someone with the same bloodline could use this ring.
This was probably the reason why he received it instead of his dad or someone around them.
Bound items would adjust their strength to the wielder and have certain amplification towards the wielder’s special features.
Shane was overjoyed to receive such a treasure as a late birthday present and he asked himself if his dad sent it to him through Uncle Max.
With his father’s temper, Shane thought he would be blackmailed by him because of his mother’s precious heirloom in order to lure him back home but apparently, he received it just like that.
It seemed like his father read his message but instead of writing back, he sent Max, his mother’s ring in order to transfer it to him.
Shane wasn’t sure what to think about his father right now because he acted differently than normal.
Instead of throwing a fit and cursing at him, his dad remained silent without replying to him at all.
Was that a new tactic? Shane didn’t know but he was for sure that his father was more than a little bit enraged.
Fortunately, Shane wasn’t nearby his dad, otherwise, he would be beaten to a pulp.
As such he just accepted the ring and looked at Umbra’s quality upgrade panel, only to see that the (0/1drop) for dragon blood changed into (1/1drop).
This meant Max’s wyvern counted as a weaker sub-race of the dragon race, causing Shane’s lips to curl up into a big smile.
Furthermore, thanks to the large spatial storage, he wouldn’t need his other spatial rings anymore.
He would be able to sell the two rings for around 6 gold coins in total which would increase his funds once again.
With his humongous large spatial storage, he wouldn’t have to reply to his store to sell the beast corpses he found in a variety.
Shane didn’t have to avoid many different groups of beasts he previously avoided anymore, because he didn’t have to rely on storing many corpses inside his small spatial rings in addition to his three item vacancies inside his shop.
Now he could store everything and filling 10.000 cubic meters would take a long time.
Furthermore, by adjusting its capabilities to Shane’s strength, the spatial ring’s storage size and amplifications would increase subsequently.
This were exceptionally good news and Shane was even more adamant in reaching higher cultivation stages in order to receive more benefits from his mother’s heirloom.
Looking at Umbra, Shane smiled, before his gaze turned towards the large empty basin.
Filling it with hot water, Shane poured one of the common quality nutrition solutions inside, while he surrounded the basin with three fist-sized common mana stones before he took off his clothes and descended into the basin.
