Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 47: Perfect foundation

Chapter 47: Perfect foundation

Shane looked surprised at a forum thread from humanity’s government, stating that the RadiantRing shelter within the radiant mountain ring dimension established their wall and defensive measures, officially allowing all civilians to enter the shelter.

This meant the shelter could be defended against the more powerful beasts in closer proximity and would in conclusion allow Shane to enter the radiant mountain ring immediately.

‘Thas came faster than I planned…’ Shane thought, frowning, and initially, it was planned that the construction would take at least another week which was also considered the shortest period.

Looking at Umbra’s almost one-meter-long body, Shane could only sigh deeply before he picked him up.

Umbra was too large to coil himself around Shane’s neck, as such it laid down on his shoulders, radiating a cold and actual calming aura.

This released Shane’s tension slightly as he smiled foolishly at Umbra, who already reached the capacities of his quality, which was the peak of the 4th Wild stage one whole rank higher than its racial limit.

It was only when Umbra reached his quality limit, that a change in his evolution section could be seen.

_______________

Possible evolutions [Shadow-snake (Rare)]

1) [Common] Shadow-python (5%/100%)

2) [Uncommon] Darkness-python (0.6%/100%)

3) [Rare] Colossus Darkness-python (0.001%/100%)

4) [Extraordinary] <Locked>

_______________

Behind the possible evolutions, a completion rate appeared, indicating how much mana Umbra had accumulated and stored to evolve.

Looking at the percentages, it was obvious which evolution was more powerful.

If Shane was honest, this change strengthened his decision to patiently wait until Umbra reached the [Extraordinary] quality in order to see the difference of the Colossus Darkness-python evolution and his [extraordinary] evolution to figure out if it was worthwhile for the future with his other tamed beasts and Umbra’s future evolutions.

The extraordinary evolution should be very powerful but was it really useful to upgrade his tamed beast’s quality with a huge fortune in order to have a 5% stronger beast.

And the answer was extremely simple: Yes!

For beasts within the basic primordial dimensions 5% might be a small number one could easily overwhelm with a few subordinates, a landscape advantage, or maybe even some strategy but once beasts reached a certain realm, a difference of 5% in one’s combat prowess would be like heaven and earth, unimaginable and Shane liked thinking for a long term investment.

Roughly one week passed since Shane’s physique broke into the 6th Mortal stage and not much happened, except that he behaved as if he was obsessed with getting stronger.

In this single week, Shane and Umbra hunted beasts worth slightly more than 20 gold coins, while his cultivation and body refining changed only slightly, slowing down from his former height

_______________

After Shane broke into the 7th Mortal stage from his body refining, the common nutrition solutions were already too shallow and couldn’t provide enough nutrition, only using four at the same time was roughly comparable to a single uncommon nutrition solution.

A single common solution was priced at 50 silver coins while an uncommon nutrition solution was priced at 1 gold coin. Using four common solutions for a single uncommon nutrition solution was a waste of his wealth but he had to use up his stock in order to change to the uncommon nutrition solution.

He had still 10 [Uncommon] nutrition solutions left in addition to 4 [Uncommon] fist-sized mana stones.

Not only did his body refining process slow down but also the purification speed within his mana pool, as its size increased by 10% every time he broke through.

Additionally, Shane’s mana pool was 30% larger compared to his peers’ mana pool since the beginning of his journey.

Adding the 10% increase to [Artemis’ blessing] the Ancient ring of the Susurro, Shane’s mana pool was roughly 2.9 units large compared to 1.9 units humans without a blessing had.

As such, it was only normal for his cultivation progress to slow because his mana gathering and purifying manuals weren’t the best.

But Shane didn’t consider that as a problem because something innately changed his way of thinking.

Previously his plan was simple: Become as strong as possible in a short period of time in order to live freely without his father or someone else intercepting any of his decisions but that changed somehow.

After Shane noticed how many resources he would have to accumulate throughout his cultivation journey, he noticed that a perfect foundation was important if not the most important.

If the foundation was shabby, unstable, and full of flaws, the building that he constructed above would be demolished faster than one could count down from three to zero.

Shane didn’t want to do anything half-heartedly and if he had to do something he didn’t like to receive freedom from his dad’s clutches, could you really call it freedom?

Thinking about that for the past few days, Shane came to a decision.

He wanted to build a perfect foundation if possible and in order to accomplish that, Shane had to do two important things.

First, obtain a [Perfect-(Mythic)] body refining technique on every cultivation stage in order to have a flawless body and for the second requirement, Shane had to get his hands on a [Tier-2 (Mythic)] mana purification manual.

With this purifying manual, Shane would be able to achieve a mana purification of 100% which was a perfect purified mana pool.

Each of the two requirements was extremely difficult to achieve and until now, nobody was capable to accomplish any of the two requirements for a perfect foundation because the resources and time required to re-refine the first three stages were incomparable to the following stages.

As such, it was seen as a waste by most humans to waste their precious time within the basic dimension for a long period.

And if Shane was honest, there was no need for him to struggle in order to receive a mythic perfect body refining manual.

But he didn’t care about that. He believed the system wouldn’t neglect hard work.

As for the 100% purifying manual, an unknown number of humans tried to fulfill the requirements and solve the missions in order to obtain the purifying manual but there was no use.

Nobody achieved it and only the most powerful beings with renowned martial art families, special body traits, wealth, and support from outside were barely able to achieve a mana purity of 90% while a handful of humans were able to solve a mission that gave out a mana purification manual for 95%.

In the end, Shane would be more confident in solving the mission to obtain the [Tier-2 (Mythic)] mana purification manual, if he had a perfect physique, without a single flaw.

He was still young and only 16 years old and living for a few hundred years wouldn’t be a problem.

What problem was there for him using a few years of his youth in order to obtain massive benefits?

Obviously, Shane didn’t know the exact benefits he would obtain after liquefying his mana with 100% purity, but he could imagine an overwhelming enlargement in his mana pool size with a large physique amplification.

As for a perfect physique foundation, he just didn’t want to waste some time in the future, and if he could prevent that while slowly building up his combat prowess to solve the [Mythic] purification manual mission, everything would be perfect.

Furthermore, he doubted that a perfect physique wouldn’t give him any benefits in terms of strength.

Because Shane was still within the Mortal stage range, he could already accept the [Mythic] mission for his mortal stage perfect body refining manual, where one requirement was for him to gather 1000 gold coins without anyone’s help.

There was something essential ironical with the [Mythic] missions.

The mission was different for everyone and nobody knew what it could be before one would accept them.

Failing the mission would immediately shatter one’s dream to obtain the wanted [Mythic] manual and the chance for Shane to construct a perfect foundation.

As such, he would have to accomplish all missions without failing a single time.

Shane was confident in his own strength and determination as he gazed at the blank sign of the [Mortal-(Mythic)] body refining technique as he blacked out for a second, when his finger subconsciously raised, as he clicked on the [Request mission] button.

Taking his hand back, Shane was shocked that he moved without him realizing it early enough.

‘F**K! I’m so stupid!!’

Shane wanted to reach the 10th Mortal stage in both cultivation and body refining before he would dare to descend into Hell, but now his plan was shattered.

Within the blank sign, a message appeared and Shane read it reluctantly, only to see a smile blooming on his face as he shouted out in joy “YAAA……W-WHAT? 48 hours???!!”.

If one were to see Shane, nobody would believe he was still alive, because his face turned ashen-pale without a single drop of blood left behind.

Shane gazed at the notification with lifeless eyes before he regained his senses when the countdown began to count down.
