Chapter 2328: Everlasting regret (1)
Huang Yueli didn’t care just how jealous she was as she continued, “Time is running out so we should continue on our way!”
Meng Wan’er wanted to reject but Li Moying’s cold gaze swept over chillingly.
Meng Wan’er suddenly recalled the terror from the life and death predicament that she faced earlier as her back was instantly drenched in cold sweat.
She didn’t dare to say much as she immediately stood up, “Hmm, set…. Let’s set off then! But you cannot run about recklessly again otherwise if you fall into some kind of mechanism again, don’t blame me for not leading the road properly!”
Huang Yueli replied with a great attitude, “That’s of course.”
Meng Wan’er eventually did not say anything else as she stood up and opened the door on the left and continued leading the way.
Cang Po Jun followed Meng Wan’er closely behind her with Huang Yueli and Li Moying in the middle, followed by Cang Po Jun and finally Liu Buyan who was responsible for the rear.
This group of people then followed this order as they trudged forward in an unhurried and orderly fashion.
Meng Wan’er was initially slightly nervous, worried that some problem might appear along the way which could possibly cause her to be unable to complete the ghost masked man’s task which he had entrusted upon her.
But other than the previous small accident where Huang Yueli went missing, there didn’t seemed as though any other accidents had surfaced.
The group walked through one corridor after another and went round and round into one huge hall after another.
“I’m almost dizzy from going round and round, all the halls seem the same? Only the murals of those shapes of the Phoenixes which look slightly different. If it wasn’t for this, I would have thought that we’ve been routing back on the return path!” Cang Po Jun was the first to express his impatience.
“Isnt that so? Just how many halls are there here? We have already gone past…. one, two, three, four, five, six, seven…. seven of them?” Liu Buyan also expressed his doubts.
Meng Wan’er stopped in her tracks and explained, “Please don’t be impatient, we are almost about to reach. There’s actually a total of eight large halls and if we wish to enter the Upper level, then we must pass through all the eight halls once to open up the corresponding mechanisms. Now we’re only left with the last huge hall.”
Huang Yueli nodded her head, “So it’s like that, Young Miss Meng, please continue to lead the way.”
When Meng Wan’er heard her speaking, her expression turned slightly uneasy.
As long as she saw Huang Yueli, she would uncontrollably recall those humiliations that she had suffered in the past few days…
But, everything was about to end immediately!
Meng Wan’er clenched her fists, telling herself to stay calm, later activating the mechanism and led the group out of the dim corridor as they entered the last large hall.
Just as Huang Yueli and Li Moying stepped into the large hall at the same time, a flustered and loud cry was heard coming from behind their backs.
“AH–! This… what is this?? Help!”
Huang Yueli”s expression changed abruptly, “What’s the matter? It’s… Senior Brother??”
She and Li Moying exchanged one glance and before they had even recovered from the shock, Cang Po Jun and Cang Po Jun immediately dashed into the corridor again to save him.
Meng Wan’er went into a blank as she hollered after them urgently, “Hey, where…. where are you guys going? Quickly come back! Thanks mechanism leading to the exit is about to be activated immediately!”
However, the two Guardians’ back figures had vanished in the end of the corridor.
Huang Yueli frowned, “No way, I have to go check on Senior Brother, I wonder what happened to him? He’s a ninth stage Realm peak practitioner and if he hadn’t met with a formidable enemy, he would absolutely not act like this!”
She pulled Li Moying along and ran out together.
