Chapter 269: Against the Blood Ghoul
Chapter 269: Against the Blood Ghoul
The two stood with a distance between them, facing each other. The others were slowly taking a step back and at the moment they were far away, Mesi swung his arm in an abrupt manner, making droplets of blood into bullets towards Teren.
Bam!*
But instead of seeing his opponent dodge, Mesi was met with Teren’s fist instead. He thought he would endure this strike and counter but that thought was immediately erased when he felt his head was about to come off during the impact.
“Gah!”
Mesi’s body flew away out of the warehouse, shocking Derek, Matthew, and Alph’s representative. The other Aberrants who just exited the warehouse panicked and ran out of the way but it was too late some of them cushioned Mesi’s fall.
The moment he got to his ground, he waved his hand again as his bloodlust increased.
Thud*
“Argh!”
But he took another hit, lifting him. Teren didn’t pause and continued pummeling Mesi while he was midair. When he as to fall again, Teren took his neck and pulled to let Mesi’s face meet his other fist.
Bam*
The sound made everyone feel the pain that Mesi received. Meanwhile, Teren was shocked.
‘This guy’s getting tougher.’
Therefore, he continued, not letting Mesi get a comeback. However, the more he bled, the stronger he becomes. Mesi felt pain but also power entering his body. He began to fight back with a swing of his leg but before he do so, Teren slammed his neck onto the ground.
Boom*
A cloud of dust was made along with the crater that Mesi was lying on right now.
“Damn i-!”
Mesi was getting furious but Teren wouldn’t stop when he pinned him to the ground. Gaining a great advantage, Teren fully took this chance to kill Mesi. He slammed his fists down as hard as he could like an angry ape.
Boom* Boom* Boom*
“Ahh!?”
While Teren was busy beating Mesi to death, a shout could be heard outside of the dust cloud. Teren sensed danger and jumped away when blood bullets came from all directions.
Once he rose, he saw that many people were trying to escape but some were lying on the ground, dried up.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry…!”
Mesi cried while his face was a mess. His nose was broken, his eyes couldn’t open, and a lot of his teeth were missing. But when the nearby floating blood that tried to hit Teren like a bullet came to him. He absorbed them as if they were energy, healing him at an accelerated rate.
“So versatile…”
From atop the warehouse, Teren felt like he would regret killing Mesi. However, there’s nothing Teren could do to make him his ally, therefore, Mesi should die, he thought.
Making up his mind, Teren landed on the ground and went for it again. Mesi now holds more power by taking them from others. This is what made him the Blood Ghoul. His strength can reach a terrifying rate.
“I’m really hating you now!”
Mesi shouted as he just received a reason to fight the Devil Himself for real.
Teren replied by attacking to which Mesi solidly took, making him fly out into the trees again. But, unlike the first time, he received less damage. New and sharp teeth were replacing the old as he looked at Teren as if he was about to eat the devil.
Teren knew it’s going to be tough. After all, he once held more than hundreds of Spirits, making him ridiculously strong. Therefore, he’s a bit skeptical about this fight.
“Let’s just see…”
He muttered before attacking again. Both he and Mesi were not using any complicated fighting technique, they were relying on their experience. That’s why Teren is dominating the match even though Mesi seemed to be getting stronger after every passing moment.
Furthermore, Teren’s strength is still more than Mesi’s. However, it seemed that the latter is catching up on this factor.
Mesi tried to keep his guard up as he continually try to defend himself. However, his mind was heaved by the guilt of harming others. He wouldn’t feel any guilt if he were to just beat the Devil Himself but to do it, he took blood from innocent people.
Although they are not really innocent, Mesi wants to believe so and didn’t want to leave them to die. There are a lot of people who were targeted by him earlier and while some of them died, there are those who can still be saved.
‘I have to end this fast!’
He thought, thus, he took some heavy hits from Teren to counterattack. It was swift and seemed like it was not worth it as it only scratched Teren.
The blood that’s about to drop was what’s important for Mesi. He didn’t care if he was losing at the exchanges. What’s important is that he’s going to win at the end!
Teren didn’t care about this and continued. While Mesi gets heavily punched and kicked, he controlled the blood that finally dropped from Teren’s wound!
He was about to use it against Teren when…
‘Huh…? It’s heavy…’
Teren saw that Mesi paused. The situation that he expected probably occurred. This gave Teren a time frame to pull his fist and make one big swing.
Thud!*
Blood was spat out of Mesi’s mouth as he tried to cushion the fist upon impact. Due to this, he was vulnerable, enabling Teren to turn and drop an ax kick to Mesi’s nape.
Upon receiving that solid attack, Mesi’s eyes rolled up and his vision turned dark before his body dropped onto the ground.
“Haa…”
He breathed and was glad that he was able to do it.
‘I was skeptical at first but I was able to defeat him without using any of my Spirits.’
Teren is aware that he’s known for more than just having devilish strength. Therefore, what would the other Aberrants think will happen if the man they have faith in was beaten up by the devil without even using his true power?
Teren was worried that he might be cornered and will have to use the Spirit of Healing. If this battle lasted for more, the witnesses might notice the fact that he’s not using any more Spirits when he’s in a tight spot?
Currently, only the top-rankers knew about his case. If this were to spread, all of Teren’s old enemies would come back to him for revenge. Thus, he was quite glad that he was able to earn a ‘domineering victory’
From a random person’s perspective, Teren won overwhelmingly without a doubt.
“T-this is the Devil Himself…?”
A lot might have happened but for the others, the fight ended soon after it began. The Aberrants haven’t even got away that far.
Teren used his Spirit of Healing to heal the scratch that Mesi gave him.
“Didn’t I say that nobody leaves?”
He spoke to the other Aberrants, making them all run back to the warehouse. This is the power of an absolute image. Without any effort, he was able to make them listen to him in an instant. This may be a tyrannical ruling but still a ruling.
“W-wait! Teren!”
Matthew shouted when Teren took Mesi’s unconscious body by his nape.
“Don’t kill him…”
“Deadmen.”
Teren only said one word before he walked toward Matthew and Derek. The two of them flinched but under Teren’s terrifying aura, they froze. What were they thinking? They just realized that this was the Devil Himself, why did they step forward?
“Wait… Teren, y-you’re not going to kill us… are yo-“
Bam*
With a raise of his leg, Matthew was sent flying away, leaving only the dead corpse on the ground he landed. Derek looked back and saw that his friend’s stomach horrifyingly caved. Shouldn’t Matthew be screaming in pain? Why isn’t he saying anything?
Before reality sank into Derek’s head, he felt a hand wrap around his neck.
Crack*
He wasn’t able to mutter another single word. Derek didn’t even know any of their life would end there. They had too much trust in Mesi’s strength. Their overconfidence in him killed them.
Teren then dropped Mesi onto the ground and kneeled on his shoulders.
“Boss Hark…!”
Uncle Jo wanted to stop Teren but after seeing Derek and Matthew’s bodies, he was unable to say anything further.
Mesi’s eyes opened at that moment and that was when Teren held his head.
“Huh?”
Coincidentally, he saw Derek’s lifeless face, looking at him.
“D-derek…?”
Mesi muttered before Teren immediately tried to twist his neck but Mesi’s whole body turned blood red as it resisted Teren’s force.
“You killed Derek!!”
An unholy voice came out of Mesi’s mouth.
“I killed Matthew too.”
“What?”
Crack*
Teren took Mesi’s shock as a chance and went all the way to turn his head in a disturbing direction. However, Teren was not finished.
‘I know ghouls are complex types of Spirits but abilities regarding blood? Before, it was about dream… I have to make sure since I don’t know the extent of his Spirits’ capabilities…’
That’s why Teren held Mesi’s head again. This time, there was zero resistance as he twisted the head like removing the cap from its bottle.
Crackle…!*
A disturbing sound was produced until blood completely flowed out.
This was the final push that made those who saw this firmly believe that they were looking at a devil… the Devil Himself.
