Chapter 1053 The Doll House Surfaces Again

Chapter 1053 The Doll House Surfaces Again

–AN) Merry Christmas, everyone!–

Kana nodded her head in approval as she stood up and disappeared. She reappeared under the falling Instructor Mills and caught him before casting a healing spell on him and helping him stand up. “There! As good as new.” Kana nodded before returning to where she had been sitting before.

Instructor Mills was in a daze. He still had no idea what had just happened. He only remembered his life flashing before his eyes as he was hit by some kind of mountain and sent flying.

XY-89 took a moment to actually register what happened before chuckling. He really must hand it to this family, they were indeed quite powerful. “Ahem…. Next up, Ako against Instructor Ivy.” His eyes slowly fell on Ako. Looking at her semi transparent skin and at how cute she was, he really wanted to talk to her more.

Ako ignored the intense stare that was enough to turn anyone off and walked to the center of the stage. Ivy was a bit worried. She did not know what to expect now after seeing the little girl send Instructor Mills flying across the stadium. It was not like she could opt out and pass the woman in front of her for her own safety. She had to follow the exam rules. She looked at Ako and said: “You can go all out I will as well.”

“Okay.” Ako nodded. She stood there casually, waiting for the match to begin. XY-89 raised his hand before dropping it and saying: “Start!”

Ivy wanted to start off by testing Ako’s abilities, but before she could do anything, her target disappeared. “What!? Where did she go!?”

“Don’t die…..” A whisper entered Ivy’s ear. To her, while this voice was soft and sweet, it was like death had already decided her fate.

Ako had already surrounded Ivy with multiple black spheres that had arches of black lightning coming off them. Ivy wanted to try to defend herself, but she did not see any way of doing it. The strange power coming off those black spheres instilled her with fear. She could only watch as they all shot toward her. She closed her eyes and waited for the pain to arrive but surprisingly, after standing there for a long time, nothing happened. No pain, no nothing. She slowly opened her eyes to see all the black spears had been encased in barriers and herself as well. She only heard a voice behind her scolding someone.

“Ako, you can’t use killer moves like that in a test. You need to save that for actual combat. Don’t let her egg you on by her telling you to go all out. You know you are more powerful than her, so no! Bad Ako!” Kana had forgotten to tell Ako to hold back. Ever since her change, her killing intent was much stronger, and sometimes she would forget herself when someone egged her on. And Ivy telling her to go all out to Ako meant she could kill without restraint.

Ako hung her head and nodded like a child being scolded by her mother. But she kind of liked this kind of attention since it made her realize more and more how much Kana treated her like her own family.

Ivy could only stand there stiffly as batteries all disappeared, taking the spells with them like bubbles popping. It was not until XY-89 ushered her off stage that she finally let out a sigh of relief and fell to her knees. “So dangerous!”

“Just relax,” XY-89 replied before looking at Ghast, who seemed to have a worried look on his face. His opponent was another little girl, but it seemed he might end up being almost killed like the rest. He took a few deep breaths trying to calm his nerves.

Ghast accepted his fate and walked to the center of the arena without needing XY-89 to call him up. Mei Ling also moved to center stage but without her teddy bear. She looked at the man in front of her while tapping her chin and asked: “You are from the ghost race?”

“That is right. Unlike the souls from the undead realms, my race is a hybrid of a soul and a human. Which gives us our looks.” Ghast answered. He felt like he was instructing a small child. Little did she know his answer was only allowing Mei Lingg to think of which puppet spell to use against him.

“Mmm…. I am ready whenever.” Mei Ling said with a smile.

XY-89 looked at Ghast, who nodded and announced the start of the fight. Sadly for Ghast, he never even got to cast a spell before he heard the little girl in front of him softly say: “Doll House….”

“Doll wha? Hmmm?” Ghast suddenly found himself in a strange place. It was a house, but it was very strange. The furniture was on the ceilings, the stairs seemed to spiral to nowhere, and the halls all seemed to tilt in weird directions with no end. “An illusion?”

“Do you want to play?” A small little voice was heard, and Ghast felt something tugging on his pant leg. He looked down to see a porcelain doll with a gothic style dress and long black hair standing there looking up at him. “Do you want to play with us?”

This time the voice seemed to split off into multiple voices. Before Ghast could grasp what was going on, he suddenly realized he was surrounded by many dolls. “What is this!? Go away!”

“Play with us! Play with us! Stay and play with us….. Forever….” The dolls all began flying around and climbing onto him. Ghast began to freak out. He tried to toss them off, but there were too many. At this time, he, a person of the ghost race, was scared of the eerie dolls that seemed possessed!

Kana sighed and really wondered if her family knew how to hold back. She disappeared and reappeared in the doll house where all the dolls seemed to have felt fear and quickly retreated from kana as she walked over and placed her hand on Ghast’s shoulder and disappeared with him, and reappeared back in the arena.
