Chapter 472 - The Truth About The Legacy
Chapter 472 - The Truth About The Legacy
Kana floated down to the stone house built from the rocky peak and walked in. She saw Rilneas setting the table with different kinds of treats and a mountain full of meat. Kana's eyes instantly locked on to the meat as her mouth began to water. Seeing this, Rilneas chuckled as she said: "I felt your presence heading this way, so I made sure to make what you like. You came about the legacy, I presume."
Kana snapped out of her daze and nodded her head. "Mmm… I had tried to look at it when I first came to the realm of gods, but it's all gibberish. So I am not sure what exactly I should do."
"That is only natural because you have not become a true god yet. While this realm may be called the realm of gods, you are nothing more than immortals who have shed off a portion of their mortal skin. A real god is something you can only imagine. The legacy you hold is something I came across by chance when I was younger. I myself have never been able to see what is inside. What does your system tell you?" Rilneas asked.
[Dragon Legacy: ????]
[Can not be fully comprehended until one has reached godhood.]
"It says I can not fully comprehend until one has reached godhood…" Kana replied. She now understood what she couldn't understand it, now that she was reading it again. But before she could say anything, Rilneas began speaking.
"It is exactly that. Although you are the one and only goddess of death, you are not officially a god. Your title is what you will become and not your actual status. My family had records far surpassing those of what you can find here in the realm of gods, although they are gone now. When I was younger, and adding in that I am someone who likes history, I used to spend all my time in the family library. It was there that I found a single page of text that talked about a true god. And in this text, it named a certain place. The name of that place was called Aurora. The place where true gods can be found and where our dragon kind is said to come from. How much of this is true, I am not sure of, but I will say this. Ignoring the whole true god thing for a second, I ask… If we were truly gods, why are there realms higher than our own?
"I have talked to some of the supreme gods here and asked this very question, and all of them scoffed at the idea that they were not considered gods. Since then, I have left the subject alone since no one wanted to face the truth. Well, at least in my opinion, a god is someone who stands above all. Not the second to lowest layer on the cake. Kana…" Rilneas paused and called out Kana's name before continuing. "After hearing my words, what do you think?"
"Umm… I do not know much about this stuff except that… Maybe Aruya can explain more…" Kana called out Aruya. She did not know much about the gods, but Aruya seemed to know.
"Kana, you called? I was about to take a bath…" Aruya, who was wearing a towel around her body, asked. She looked a bit upset.
"Ah, sorry… Wait, you can take baths in your summon space? Actually, never mind that, my friend is asking about true gods." Kana replied.
"Oh, one second." Aruya waved her hand, causing her towel to change into a long white dress. "Now then… You wish to know about true gods?"
Rilneas eyes sparkled with excitement as she nodded her head. "Mmm! If you know about it, please tell me. Tell me about Aurora!"
"I can tell you what I know, but I can not exactly say anything from first hand experience." Aruya's information was slim as she was originally supposed to not return to the Aurora when Kana ascended. "The place where the true gods reside is split into two levels, Aurora and Eden. Those who live in Aurora are not truly gods. Only those who live in Eden can be considered gods. The people of Aurora are powerful beyond belief, and even their children are born stronger than those of the sea of stars. But once you enter Aurora, you will truly become another being. You will no longer be a mortal. You will have a god like status, you would be a lower angel, in fact, but as I said before, you are only a true god once you enter Eden, and that is only if you are acknowledged by him. This is all I can tell you at this time. If you truly wish to rise to become a god, you will need to first reach the sea of stars and from there break the chains that bind you to being a mortal."
"I see… For me, it seems my eyes have been opened. I read about this so long ago but to find out that that slip of paper was really true. That means I have not gone crazy in my thinking. I now have a new goal. I will work hard and reach the sea of stars, and then I will search for a way to become a true god." Rilneas seemed to have had a weight lifted off her shoulders as she decided on her new path.
Aruya smiled and walked over to Rilneas and poked her head, injecting a tiny bit of holy element into her. "This small bit of power will allow you to do as you wish. When the time comes, you will understand how to use it. But that is only if you never give up and reach the peak of the sea of stars. Only then will it be of use to you."
Rilneas smiled and bowed her head. "I thank you.'' When she lifted her head again and saw that almost all the meat was gone and Kana's cheeks were puffed out like balloons she yelled out: "Kana! Leave some for me!"
