Refining the Mountains and Rivers

Chapter 1686 – That’s All?

Chapter 1686 – That’s All?

Waiting for someone was something that did not require much skill, especially if the other party was Bull Dingtian, an elite elder of the Central Desolate Divine Area. As long as he wanted to come, he would be able to find them. As such, Qin Yu and Rourou randomly found a small town in Shanming Domain to rest at.

Qin Yu closed himself away in cultivation for a few days. After some hesitation, he finally decided to get up. He pushed his door open and knocked on Rourou’s door. He was holding a bright red fruit in his hands. Rourou’s lips curled and she glanced at him, “You finally could not resist seeking me out?”

Qin Yu’s heart jumped. Although he knew that she was not referring to that, his expression unwittingly turned awkward.

Rourou’s eyes narrowed, “What are you thinking about?”

He hurriedly waved his hand in a frenzied manner, “Nothing.”

“Hmph!”

She shot a glare at him and turned around.

Qin Yu followed her inside and closed the door. Rourou was seated by the table and Qin Yu quickly stepped forward to pour her a cup of tea.

“I am not thirsty.”

He maintained a smile, “It is just manners.”

From her first words, he already knew that Rourou had sensed what he was here for. He coughed lightly and got to the point, “I’ve cultivated quite a number of Divine Ways, however most of them are no longer suitable for my cultivation realm. Especially now that I can control the small world, I lack an ultimate killing move. Do you have any suggestions?”

Rourou rolled her eyes, “What do you have for me?”

In a serious manner, Qin Yu said, “I will owe you.”

As soon as she heard this, Rourou could not help but rub her forehead. She thought to herself, you are willing to break bottles and shatter glasses; are you that fearless now? However, Rourou noticed Qin Yu’s serious expression. She scoffed and expressed her agreement to the debt.

She drank some tea.

Immediately, a bright smile flashed across Qin Yu’s face.

Rourou snapped in annoyance, “What are you smiling at? I will let you know that you had better not think of slacking off on paying me back.”

Qin Yu nodded while smiling gleefully.

In two more gulps, Rourou finished her tea. The moment she placed it down, Qin Yu refilled it to the brim again. “Your mouth will be dry as you talk.”

Rourou’s lips twitched but she remained expressionless, “Don’t try to resist or you will get injured. Don’t blame me for not warning you.”

Once she said this, she clenched her fist in front of her. There was a sharp sword hum and two long swords appeared in her hands.

Her head lowered and she looked at them. Rourou said, “Its grade is not bad; I will help you purify it and combine the two swords into one. However, there is some risk to this – you might not even have one left in the end.”

Qin Yu nodded without hesitation, “Not a problem. You can go ahead.”

She stared at him, “I will not teach you the sword skills as you have mastered them pretty well previously. You can find an opportunity to seek some guidance.”

Qin Yu nodded in deep thought.

“Also, your Five Elements powers. As your realm increases, you will realize that your basics will become stronger. If you pick it up again and train it, I can give you a Five Element Transport technique that will give you enough moves to spare.

“The Soul Calming God Light is very mysterious and it can continuously become stronger as your realm increases. If you use it wisely during a battle, you will get a nice surprise.

“Finally, don’t just cultivate based on the book that Jiang Huan left for you. Look through it carefully and it will be good for you. Time invested in preparations will not be lost; I hope you understand this logic properly.”

Qin Yu rubbed his nose. He had briefly gone through the book Jiang Huan left behind but he did not understand its contents at all. He recognized the words in it, but reading it felt like he was reading a foreign language.

However, since Rourou gave him a reminder, Qin Yu nodded seriously, “I will read it carefully.”

Rourou lifted her tea cup and drank another sip. This was her indication for him to leave.

Qin Yu understood her actions but he could not help asking a last question, “Is that all?”

Rourou’s expression darkened, “Don’t bite off more than you can chew, young lord Qin. You are a bit muddle-headed today. What happened to your intelligence?”

She was in a bad mood; he had better scram.

Qin Yu quickly got up and cupped his hands together before he left in a jiffy.

When the door closed, Rourou gritted her teeth. She glanced down at the two swords in her hands. She had to put in a lot of effort just for this, but that brat, Qin Yu, only knew how to give her trouble daily.

On the fifteenth day after Qin Yu closed himself in cultivation in the small town, Bull Dingtian arrived.

This time, it wasn’t just a projection of him, but the real thing. The saint from the Central Desolate Divine Area had personally arrived.

At that instant, space time seemed to have stopped in the small town. Everything in the town was like a frozen time river.

Qin Yu snapped himself out of his cultivation and his eyes flung open. When he realized that Rourou was beside him, he relaxed.

“Bull Dingtian, you are here. Did you really need to make such a big fuss on your arrival? Or are you trying to stir up trouble with me?”

Rourou scoffed and her tone was cold.

The door to the room was pushed open and Bull Dingtian walked in. He glared at Rourou, “If I wanted to take action, would I really have needed to go through so much trouble?”

He held himself strongly and sat down, “However, if you are putting on a bluff, it seems that you are not in a good state. Aren’t you going to hide away instead of causing trouble in the Central Desolate? Hm, did you live too long and decided to be love-dovey as a couple?”

Rourou was expressionless as she dared, “You can try me.”

Bull DIngtian scoffed. “Forget it. I can’t be bothered with that. You can stop trying to poke around, there is no point.”

Rourou calmly said, “Let’s talk business.”

Bull Dingtian’s fingers drummed against the table, “Alright.” There was a light pause before he said, “The Bull Family has stirred up someone’s interest. You have seen Bull Bean’s potential right? As such, some people do not want us to become strong. Otherwise, even without me saying anything, the four sects and families would voluntarily back away.”

Rourou cut him off, “Can you tell me something that I do not already know?”

Qin Yu’s heart beat nervously and he thought to himself, ‘Sister, can you not be so fierce? He is a true divine saint from the Central Desolate!’

Thankfully, Bull Dingtian did not seem to mind this. “On the surface, this event seems to be caused by the four sects and families, but it is actually that clan pulling the strings.”

A flash of light crossed Rourou’s eyes, “They are having a hard time?”

Bull Dingtian smirked, “They tried to take advantage of others and it ended up backfiring. Now they have reached a state without a sect or a clan. If this had been a short term thing, it would not have been significant. However, people are definitely going to have more thoughts as time passes. Especially that individual in Xianyang – he is impatient.”

Rourou fell into deep thought. She slowly nodded, “This explains things. Do you want to collaborate with me?”

Bull Dingtian nodded, “Of course, no one in this world will not need to pay a price after scheming against my family.”

He was assertive!

More importantly, he was truly domineering. When he spoke, his confidence was like a bomb. He leaned forward slightly and stared at Rourou, “I know that your target is that clan. Since we have the same direction, we might as well collaborate.”

Rourou calmly said, “Since you came so late, you must have done your investigations beforehand. I am not going to deny what you said, but we will decide how we proceed. You can only choose to cooperate.”

Bull Dingtian nodded, “No problem. You are obviously better than me at planning; this elder will agree with you.”

Rourou smiled coldly, “You better know your boundaries with me. Are you qualified to call yourself an elder in front of me?”

Bull Dingtian was put down strongly. He rolled his eyes, “Hurry up, what are your plans. El…how do I cooperate?”

Rourou glanced at him sideways, “Bull Dingtian, are you forgetting something? Qin Yu put in a lot of effort to save Bull Bean. I made an agreement with you, but he did not. Are you not ashamed to take advantage of a junior like that?”

Bull Dingtian rubbed his chin and looked at Qin Yu, “Young brat, don't blame me for not reminding you. I originally wanted to count this favor of saving Bull Bean by placing you as a top candidate to be her husband in the future. So you had better consider carefully whether you want rewards now or you want a chance to be a son of the Bull Family in the future.”

Qin Yu rose and cupped his hands without hesitation.

“I don’t dare to have any romantic thoughts about Miss Bull Bean.”

Bull Dingtian scoffed and he stared at Qin Yu as though accusing Qin Yu of being blind. He flipped his hands and revealed an object that looked like a jade. He threw it to Qin Yu.

“Young brat, we have settled it!”

Qin Yu took the object with both hands and glanced at Rourou. When he saw her nod, he cupped his hands and bowed, “I would not dare to turn down a gift from an elder; I will accept it.”

Bull Dingtian’s lips curled up.

There was a flicker of amusement in Rourou’s eyes, “Bull Dingtian, carefully tell me everything you know about the Central Desolate.”

His face turned serious and he thought for a while before he spoke. Then, he carefully explained the situation in the Central Desolate. With his cultivation and status, there was almost nothing that he did not know. He spent four hours explaining. The whole time, Rourou’s eyes were half closed and she did not say a single word.

When his lips were dry, Bull Dingtian sipped at his tea. He looked at Qin Yu’s expression; it was much better than before.

This young brat’s foresight is pretty good.

However, why was he blind with Bull Bean? He truly had considered Qin Yu as Bull Bean’s fiancee. After all, the Nine Bends Heaven Crossing Great Dao was extraordinary, and furthermore, he was someone who Rourou looked highly upon. He was worth investing in.

Once he drank his tea, Bull Dingtian thought for a while before he spoke a bit more. He used a secret technique to conceal his words such that only Rourou was able to hear them. Qin Yu was only able to watch his lips move but he could not hear anything.

This made him rather speechless. Elder, can’t you at least be more discreet? Can’t you make it less awkward for me?

“Alright, that is all. If there is anything you are unclear on, you can ask me.” Bull Dingtian gulped the rest of his tea and looked over.

Qin Yu scurried over to him and filled up his tea cup again.

For a while, there was only silence. Finally, Rourou opened her eyes, “I roughly understand.” She looked at Bull Dingtian, “We will not be heading to Long Mountain Area anymore.”

Bull Digntian nodded, “Food sent directly to the door is not fragrant. I understand.”

He flipped over his palm and revealed a token, “This item is something that an old fellow owed me many years ago. It has been a long while and I have not needed to use it. If you feel like it will be useful, you may take it.”

Rourou glanced at it and extended her arm. She weighed it in her hand and said, “It seems like you acknowledge my plan too. If there is nothing else, this shall be it.”

Qin Yu’s eyes bulged open and he was at a loss for words.

That was it? The two of you simply exchanged two sentences. One spoke and one listened. Aside from that, there was no other exchange.

That’s all? I don’t know anything!

Bull Dingtian stood up, “Alright, if anything happens, you know how to find me. I will make a move first as I have something to do. I might just fan the fire on the way.”

Shoosh –

He stepped forward and disappeared in an instant.

The next moment, time began to flow in the small town again. The people in the town continued with their daily activities, seemingly oblivious to everything that happened.

Rourou looked at Qin Yu, “We should make a move too.”

They checked out of their room. After leaving the small town, Bull Bean called on the Flying Fish. The two jumped up and the Flying Fish took to the skies.

Qin Yu coughed lightly.

“We will head to Swallow Mountain. Since we claimed that we are from the Opening Heavens Sword Sect, it is time we use this card too.” Rourou explained gently.

Qin Yu rubbed his face, “Can you tell me the details?”

Rourou simply replied, “I urge you to take the time to cultivate, especially for your sword techniques. Try to imitate the sword skills properly. Otherwise, don’t blame others if you die.”

Qin Yu felt suffocated, “Is it going to be much more dangerous than the ferry?”

Rourou nodded in confirmation.

Qin Yu took in a deep breath and directly sat down cross-legged. He allowed his consciousness to slip into his soul space.

The sun rose from the east and set in the west. Light shone in all directions. Qin Yu was accustomed to this and he felt comforted in its warmth.

“Purple moon, green sun, I am here to learn the technique of the sword from you.”

Rourou said before that Qin Yu’s sword skills were good. However, he only trained the Sun Moon Sword before.

Purple Moon and Green Sun were key to him mastering this sword skill.

Woosh –

Woosh –

Two figures appeared before him. They bowed respectfully, “Greetings, Master.”

They were very respectful.

Qin Yu waved his hand, “You don’t have to be so polite.”

Green Sun shook his head and maintained a stoic expression, “I cannot disregard manners.”

Purple Moon lifted her hand and created a small sword, “Your servant’s sword technique is the Moon Sword Skill.”

“Master, please concentrate.”

Shoosh –

Shoosh –

Two sword shadows instantly entered Qin Yu’s soul. His consciousness wavered and he backed out of his soul space. Numerous flickers of images appeared in his mind. The two sword skills, the moon and the sun, started to play.

These were legendary skills passed down by great sects. Masters and seniors would display the skills and imprint them into their disciples’ souls through a Divine Way. Of course, the cultivation rank of the user would still have a huge effect on the skill. As such, being acknowledged by a good master was one of the most fundamental skills that someone should have.

Purple Moon and Green Sun had impressive backgrounds and they had lived very long. They had already comprehended their sword skills to a divine realm. They had truly passed down all their knowledge of the legendary sword skills to Qin Yu when they displayed the techniques.

Right as Qin Yu closed his eyes to absorb the sword skill in his soul space, Purple Moon and Green Sun bowed simultaneously, “Spirits of Moon Star and Sun Star Palace greet Your Honor.”

Rourou’s voice sounded in Qin Yu’s soul space, “Remember, from today onwards, you will only have Qin Yu as your master. Sun Palace and Moon Palace have both been ruined and there is no way for them to redeem themselves.”

There was a flicker of sadness on Purple Moon and Green Sun’s faces, “Yes, we understand.”

“Very good.”

Rourou’s voice faded away.
