Chapter 1504 Killing A Few 'Gods'
1504 Killing A Few ‘Gods’
Returis was a Constellation that set himself as a God in Iccunia. There he became someone who would handpick hundreds of humans a year to join in a battle royale that would take over 8 months to complete.
During this time, the people would go through the most arduous of tortures, both physical and emotional, and were made to fight against other humans to the point where every encounter led to death.
At the end of the battle royale, the person who had lived until the end would be awarded power by Returis, giving that person something that would set him apart from all the others.
Every year, some people wished to join this battle royale for a chance to get that power, but only a few of those were ever chosen. Most were picked from people who wanted nothing more than to be left alone.
Returis didn’t care who he chose. He would put mothers and daughters in the same battle and make them fight until one killed the other. He would make enemies out of friends, and make husbands and wives kill one another.
All of that, he did for his entertainment and the entertainment of many.
Ning arrived while the battle royale was in progress and killed Returis. He made a show of it, killing the god in the middle of the battlefield where everyone could see.
Returis died a dog’s death and that was more than what he deserved.
Once his death was confirmed, Ning began helping the people of Iccunia. He first fully reassured them that the god was gone, and no such games would be played ever again.
Then he dealt with the trauma that was left behind by Returis’ works that caused everyone to pray for him each day. The more they believed in him, the more power he gained.
It took Ning a couple of days to deal with the whole thing, but once he was done with everything, he left the planet to go kill another god.
The next planet he arrived on was a desert planet called Taitur.
On this planet, the Constellation that resided was Rovumus. Rovumus had done something quite simple, but quite evil. He had turned the people of this planet into demons.
This was a world with Mana, and by turning said Mana into Magicules, he had managed to turn the entire human race of this world into Demons, and he lived as the Demon King.
The demons were usually violent creatures, who fought to become stronger than the other demons, killing many if it served their purpose. The Demon King was what they sought to become in the end, and that was how Rovumus kept himself in people’s perception.
The desert planet was once more hospitable, but after Rovumus’ arrival, it had changed completely as the Demons did not care about the environment or the well-being of other demons.
This was a difficult problem for Ning to take care of. Killing Rovumus was quite easy of course. That was the very first thing he did.
But after the Demon King’s death, he needed to decide what to do with the demons. Of course, he had a way to turn demons back into humans. He had done it more than once before already.
However, doing so took time. A lot of time, time he did not want to waste in this place.
He could also simply start the reversal process and leave them, guaranteeing that these demons would indeed turn back into humans. However, in doing so, he would be leaving these people in a world that could not sustain life.
Demons were stronger creatures and could survive this harsh environment, but humans were not.
Ning had a decision to make, unfortunately. After a long thought, he realized what it was that he needed to do. It was not the best decision he could’ve made, but it was the right one given the circumstances of the situation.
Ning decided to leave the demons be as they were.
They had already grown accustomed to their life, so they would be fine surviving as they were. Ning didn’t like the decision very much, but he didn’t regret it either.
Once he made the decision, he left for another place.
He arrived on a planet called Gamul, a beautiful blue and green planet with a ring of debris around its orbit. The planet had no moon, but those rings more than made up for it.
Ning quickly gained some information about the Constellation staying on this planet. It was a Constellation by the name of Tynnolus, and he had done something very simple on this planet.
He threatened every human living on the planet that if enough people didn’t pray to him every day, he would destroy the planet.
So that his threats wouldn’t be taken as bluff, Tynnolus had destroyed the only moon of this planet, turning it into the ring of debris that everyone could now see above the planet.
Such a simple way to make people perceive him, and yet such a dangerous one.
Ning knew for certain that the constellation would do nothing to the people or the planet. Not only would the Constellation not be willing to kill people who were his only hope of empowering him, but he was also not able to kill people that easily.
Wills were made with perception from human souls, and it needed a lot of energy to ignore the compulsion inside of them to not hurt humans.
It was all a bluff in the end.
Unfortunately, the humans did not know that. The humans lived in terror every day, worrying that it would be the day that Tynnolus would kill them all.
Ning had no qualms in killing such a Constellation. Tynnolus’ death was shown to everyone. The world watched him die and knew that they were forever free from the tyranny of Tynnolus.
Ning stayed around for a while so people truly believed their evil ‘God’ to be gone, and only then did he leave to kill more around the galaxy.
