Chapter 1529: Journey through Space
Chapter 1529: Journey through Space
Ning hovered around the ship, watching it gather Spark, while Spark gathered on him as well. He breathed in the dust and could feel power blossoming inside of him as he did.
If he wanted to, he could use his Conversion skill right now. However, since there was no need for it, he let the energy subside through him.
Ning watched the Spark getting collected by the ship for a while before the ship began shooting far past him.
The ship was still under acceleration and it would soon leave him far behind.
Ning could easily match his speed with the ship, but he instead chose not to fly outside and went back into the ship. Whatever was to happen, these people were ready for it.
Ning returned to where he was strapped into a standing position and took the place of his illusion. He looked around, staring at all the people that were strapped around him.
Most of these people were fast asleep, having taken medication to put them right to sleep. They were planning to sleep through the entire journey, which Ning more or less thought was a very good choice.
If the ship was more accommodating, he would encourage people to look at the stars and the skies. But given how poorly designed the ship was for all of these people, there was no need for them to suffer.
Ning wondered just how this ship was designed in the end. Was it ever meant to carry this many people from one moon to another? Or was the number of people drastically lower at the start?
Population increase was an obvious thing even in a society just like this, and that was evident by the fact that a new city had to be opened to inhabit all the new people.
Since it was okay to walk as the ship had normal gravity, once in a while, Ning would see some people ask soldiers to unstrap them so they could use the bathroom.
Once in a while, they would see food being handed to the people who were awake that were hungry.
Ning too was handed some food. When he looked at the food, he realized that it was fruits that he was handed. Why fruits?
The answer came as soon as he even questioned it. Fruits were the only edible things on the ship after all.
Stocking a ship with food capable of feeding every single mouth on the ship, even for a single day made no feasible sense to anyone.
They would have to stock hundreds and thousands of tons of food into the ship beforehand. That not only took manpower and hours, it was also not very good.
Most food went bad quickly, and it was impossible to stock so much food in just a day. Even if they used Teleporters to teleport the foods onto the ship, that would still cost a lot of Spark, which these people were very reluctant to use.
Not to mention, the thousands of tons of added weight was not good at all when they were preparing to launch.
Instead, food was handled differently.
There were most definitely a few people on board, whose entire job was to create the food for the people.
Rather, their job was to grow the food right here on the ship.
Cultivators were kept in different places and handed seeds, which they would then have to help grow in this place. That was why the food was a Fruit. It was either that or vegetables, and considering how one needed to cook vegetables, fruits were obviously the right answer. Of course, Cultivators could also help animals grow faster so that they were in big in time to consume. However, there was simply no way to rear an animal on the ship, even if there was somehow a method to cook them, which it didn’t.
In the end, what they were attempting to do was to transmigrate an entire civilization from one moon to another, simple frivolities had to be ignored.
That was not to say that there were no chickens or pigs in the ship, that there were no vegetables. There were a lot of them too. But they were there just so the people would have something to start with once they reached their destination.
A single seed of a fruit or a vegetable, and a single pair of animals was all that these people needed to get their civilization back on track very quickly once they reached the cities in the other moon.
After eating the tiny meal that was a single fruit, Ning began spending his time doing nothing, which everyone else was doing.
He was incredibly bored, but there was nothing else for him to do. That was until he heard the cranking of the metals once more.
Ning was much farther away from when he had heard the noise first, but he could tell exactly what was going on. The Spark gathering must have filled the ship quite a lot, and these people no longer needed any more.
Or so Ning thought until he sensed something again. Just 2 minutes after the ship’s many panels closed in the vacuum of space, something else happened.
It was slow at first and nothing could be discerned. However, after a moment, Ning understood that he was truly feeling the tilt of the ship.
The ship that had been flying through space at a thousand kilometers a second was experiencing drift of some sort.
Ning immediately teleported outside of the ship and looked to see what was happening. It took a moment for Ning to realize that whatever was happening, was happening from the inside of the ship.
So everything must’ve been for a reason. A reason that the Thinker had likely already thought
about.
After going back inside, Ning saw just what the Thinker was planning.
The Thinker communicated with the Connector, who then helped connect the Thinker’s mind with the Attractors.
And then, they began attracting Krimanax once again. Only this time, it was just the top portion of the spaceship.
