Chapter 1585: Healing
Chapter 1585: Healing
Ning had another chunk of knowledge flow directly into his mind, telling him of the location of Derria’s organ and its constituents. The surface of that was crystallizing as well.
“Don’t worry, I’ll heal you!” Ning said out loud to Derria and focused his attention on Katie.
He knew everything he needed to know, so all he needed to do now was think about the crystal beyond this point in his body and use the power of Spark flowing through him to convert it.
The past few days of training, where he had forced himself to convert things while only knowing where they were, were being put to use right now.
He put all of his mind into just converting the crystals and nothing else. Once his mind was in the right place, Ning used the power.
As soon as he was done, he stepped back, but there was no time to make sure Katie had been healed properly. If he didn’t hurry up, this knowledge that he had in his mind right now would disappear.
There was still power from the Spark he consumed burning hot within him, and he needed to put both the power and knowledge to work before they both faded away.
Ning arrived right next to Derria, who could barely control herself from fully panicking out loud. She took in deep breaths, waiting for Ning to come to her.
“Calm down. Take a deep breath,” he said. “I need your body to be not moving as much.” Derria took a long breath as told and tried to control her fear. Her heart beat like a machine running on full power, but at least she managed to make her body stop shaking.
Ning placed his hand on her stomach, once again taking a moment to calm himself down. He needed to be in that state before he could do anything else. It took him a moment to put his mind and body back into that state of pure concentration, but when he did, he immediately used his powers of conversion.
Crystals inside Derria’s body that were beginning to form at a tremendous rate were immediately halted as they all turned to water inside of her body.
Derria gasped in surprise as she felt the connection come back. The power that she had been steadily losing came back in full force, giving her an emotional whiplash.
She went from fear to ecstasy in a single second and cried out in surprise.
Ning stepped back and fell back on a chair. “It’s done,” he said, letting out a deep sigh. He turned toward Katie who was looking at them with her eyes wide open.
“It’s… done?” she asked.
“Yes,” Ning said. He brought out a small vial of Spark and handed it over to her.
Katie took the vial of Spark, looking at it intently as she prepared herself for either the best moment of her life or the ultimate disappointment.
Either way, she did not want to be surprised by any of the possibilities.
Parima helped Derria get back on her feet. She gave her some water to calm herself down. The connection between the two had disappeared now that all of the Spark in Parima’s body had been used up.
“Are you okay? You were so scared,” Parima said.
“I’m… fine,” Derria said.
“And your powers?” she asked. “I could… feel your fear when you were becoming Sparkless. Is that how it feels?”
Derria nodded.
Parima sucked in cold air. “That was a horrible feeling.”
“It is,” Derria confirmed.
“But… you can use your powers now?” Parima asked.
Derria nodded. “I could feel it returning,” she said. “Whatever Lieutenant Ning did, it worked.”
Parima turned and looked toward Ning in surprise, who only watched Katie stare at the vial of Spark that she held in her hand. It was going to take her a moment to prepare for what was going to happen next.
“Miss Parima, could you open the door please?” Katie asked.
“To the house?” Parima asked, turning to look at the locked door next to them. “Why?”
“Just in case,’ Katie said and kept staring at the vial. She waited for Parima to open the door wide, and then she downed the vial of Spark.
She had consumed Spark many times after becoming Sparkless, mostly to make certain that she was Sparkless. The first few times she tried, she got the worst feeling she had since she became Sparkless, and now, it could be one of those times.
Or, it could be something different.
Katie gasped in surprise as she felt something. Something stirred within her as she felt something raging deep within her. The power.
The power of Spark.
“It’s back,” Katie said just a moment before violent winds whipped out of her, blowing out of the room through the now-open door. “Ha… haha… ha, it’s fixed. I can’t believe this… I’m healed. I’m really healed.”
The two girls had to cover their eyes from the extreme wind that quickly filled the room while Katie tried out her powers. They waited for her to be done.
When the wind finally vanished, they opened their eyes and looked at her.
Tears streamed down Katie’s face as she clutched onto Ning’s uniform. She leaned her head against Ning’s body, crying into them.
“Thank you,” she said in between her cries. “Thank you so much.”
Ning smiled. “I’m glad to see that you are properly healed,” he said. “How do you feel?”
Katie wiped her years away, but they kept reforming. “Great,” she said in between sniffs. “Better than great. I… I feel powerful as if I had never felt this way before. It’s… weird.” Ning nodded. “I had a feeling that would happen,” he said.
“What do you mean?” Katie asked.
“Because Spark Crystal builds up every time you don’t use Spark immediately, most of the people have Spark Crystals surrounding their body.”
“Yours was probably covered that way as well, but since I removed all the Spark Crystals, your organ is back to being brand new. If you take the tests now, I believe you will go a long way.
