Chapter 158 - You Call That Flirting?
Luna knew Damien wouldn't act like a prick for no reason. She continued in an amusing tone, "Don't tell me you are trying to get her attention?"
Damien chuckled, "What else? For girls like her, simply fawning before her won't invoke any actions from her other than getting slapped in the face. I need to get close to her to get some information out of her."
"I knew it. You just wanted an excuse to add her to your harem. Typical of a perverted fiend like you. You just want every heavenly beauty out there." Luna said with a scoff.
Damien said in an upright tone, "Harem? I only have Lily, and nor do I plan on pursuing anyone else."
He continued in a fixed tone, "Besides, for all I know, she can be considered my enemy as she is part of the Xeton Empire. In the end, she will fall along with the Xeton Empire. I only need to use her till I get what I want. After that, who cares about her." Damien's tone didn't waver in the slightest as he said his words.
"Aha, this is the Damien I was looking forward to seeing. So you plan to seduce her first and break her?" Luna asked eagerly.
"Something like that," Damien said nonchalantly while his eyes were still staring outside the window.
"But it's a pity to waste her like that. Before throwing her away, if you take her virginity then—"
Damien said in an exasperated tone, "Hey, timeout! Seriously, every time you only have this to say. My job is not to take women's virginity and power myself up. I am not a sex fiend as you think, hmph. Besides, I won't do anything that can hurt Lily. I know my limits."
"Tch, you are no fun. Why care about what she feels when she won't even know? Anyway, before you get ahead of yourself, it will be fun to see if you can conquer her or get beaten black and blue hehe. After all, she doesn't seem like an easy target." Luna said in an impish tone.
Luna continued, "Think what happens if you provoke her and she puts you down for your annoying behavior? After all, do you think royals like her would entertain a country bumpkin like you?"
"Nah, if she were someone like that, then her reaction would have been different now. She is not a petty person like most royals of her age and maybe considers it beneath her to deal with someone like me. And that exactly is why I have to provoke her ego. Besides, if things go wrong, I can use my status as Alchemist Azrael to get myself out of any trouble. Valentina can also easily be my proxy just in case."
He continued in a serious tone, "Besides, as you said, I have to take some risk. Right now, she is my best chance to learn more about the god residing in this empire."
Even though Luna said that the god in the Xeton Empire would be curious about him, he didn't want to wait and risk it as time was quickly passing. He always felt comfortable having a backup plan.
Minutes passed, and Reva asked Damien some questions on alchemy in between, and to everyone's surprise, he answered flawlessly without a second of delay. They all wondered whether he was truly talented in alchemy as well.
Reva's impression of Damien's knowledge increased by a few notches. The questions she asked were not mainstream and not something one could simply learn by just bookish knowledge.
She wondered if Damien had been doing alchemy since childhood, just like her.
However, Damien had to admit that Reva's teaching was very easy to understand and profound at the same time as far as he listened. She taught in a way that made even the uninterested ones gain some interest and made them want to delve more into alchemy.
The boys had to bite their tongue many times not to get dazed by her beauty while she was lecturing. They never thought it would feel so torturing.
Most of the boys stared daggers at Damien from behind as they thought he was probably getting into Reva's good books by answering all her questions perfectly despite the attitude he had shown.
All they saw was Damien simply sleeping and waking up only to answer her.
"That's all for today. Next class, the first practical session starts where you all show me whether you are talented in Fire Laws or have the ability to manifest your etheric fire." Reva said plainly and walked out of the class as it was break time already.
"Damien, is it? It looks like we have quite a show off here." A boy around seventeen years old snickered loudly and approached Damien from behind as other boys also joined him.
Those who were going to leave the class stayed behind to sit and watch the show that was going to happen and thought that things weren't going to end well for Damien.
*Slam!*
A couple of youngsters who looked almost twenty years of age rushed in with a lofty style while slamming the door, "Where is this Damien Godwin?" They asked in a rowdy manner to a nearby disciple sitting on the front bench.
"H-He is over there." The disciple feebly pointed out towards Damien as he saw those tall third year senior Elite disciples suddenly barge in and question him.
'Oh, here we go…' Damien lazily stretched his arms as he got up to face the boys coming in his direction.
The senior disciples who barged in and, along with some boys from Damien's class, surrounded him in a semi-circle fashion as his back faced the wall, not giving him the space to go out.
"You think you are so smart that you even dared to flirt with Her Highness Reva Xeton. You not only hoodwinked Fairy Valentina by letting you not lose in the assessment, but you are also even targeting our Instructor Reva." One of Damien's classmates said loudly in a dissatisfied tone, making sure that his seniors standing beside him heard him loud and clear.
One of the senior disciples asked in a tone of disbelief, "So the rumors of the princess being an instructor here were true? Damn, you all are lucky. Only if she taught my division."
"Ahem, Senior Brother Luke, aren't you forgetting about a certain someone here who had the balls to take liberties with Her Highness?"
Hearing his words, Luke focused his gaze on Damien, "Is it true? You dared to flirt with Her Highness?"
Damien chuckled, "Flirt? Well, if you kids who are wet behind the ears want to call that flirting, then go ahead and believe I did."
"Kids? Not only is your tongue twisted, but even your brain seems to be damaged. Oi oi, we are your seniors, and you are just a brat who got into this batch because of Fairy Valentina. Don't think that you are our equals just because you are an Elite disciple. You should have stayed at that shithole of an empire you are coming from."
Luke looked at Damien's classmate and said in a commanding tone, "Noran, why are you standing still? Teach this Nascent Ethereal Realm brat how to behave respectfully his superiors and not to flirt with our goddesses."
"Me?" Noran, who was badmouthing Damien all this while, was startled when Luke suddenly told him to teach Damien a lesson.
"Yes, you or should I call your mother? What are you so scared for? You are at the Ninth Level of the Spirit Ethereal Realm, and you are hesitating to touch a lowly Nascent Ethereal Realm brat? Do you expect me, your senior, to handle someone from your class?" Luke said in an egotistical tone with his chin thrust out.
Even though Luke and Noran were both from noble families, there were still differences in status between them. And apparently, Luke's family had a way higher status than Noran.
Noran slowly turned his head and looked at Damien with a cautious expression. Although he hadn't seen Damien's fight because of being busy with his own match, he had heard rumors of how Damien even thrashed a young master of a high ranked family whose cultivation was at the Peak Level of the Spirit Ethereal Realm.
Although he told himself the rumors were just nonsense, inwardly, he somehow didn't feel the same seeing the confident look on Damien's face.
But feeling the presence of his senior brothers, courage welled up in his guts. A condescending smirk emerged on his face as he raised his hand towards Damien's collars.
"If you touch me, not even your own mother will recognize you once I am done with you," Damien said in a grim tone as his eyes became cold.
