Chapter 294 - Entering The Gale Empire
Few days passed by…
Along with two tall cloaked figures, two handsome youngsters were walking towards the border between the Xeton Empire and the Gale Empire.
They seemed to be taking a good look of their surroundings as if they were here for the first time or after a long time.
The boys were none other than Damien and Triton, while the two intimidating figures were none other than Shania and Blaze.
Damien didn't expect Triton to come with them since he thought he wasn't interested in these things.
They all had set out towards the Gale Empire in order to hunt down a specific Heaven Ethereal Realm beast they had set their eyes on.
Damien had asked them about the different kinds of ethereal beasts roaming in the Gale Empire.
Damien wanted one like Misty but more powerful.
Fortunately, he learned that if he wanted an ethereal beast good at flying and powerful, Gale Empire would be the best place to hunt for one due to the many hotspots with high wind affinity.
So, Blaze and Shania agreed that they could set out for Gale Empire to hunt for one, and surprisingly Triton joined too, saying that he needed a bit of fresh air.
Damien felt it quite natural thinking that Triton must always be cultivating or managing the matters of the Forsaken.
They came upon the border inspector, who had the job of making sure to collect entry fees.
The entry fee was 1 Yellow Spirit Stone for each person, which was nothing in Damien's eyes but expensive for some.
Entering the Gale Empire, Damien remembered Typhoon Lord and his grandson Skinny Face.
He wondered if Typhoon Lord was still conducting a superficial investigation or gave up after all these months.
Blaze spoke, "Master Triton, we will separate for now to scout the forestlands first for any potential dangers and to find the beast. Please use a talisman in case of any emergency. We will certainly rush back as fast as possible."
Triton nodded, and Damien already knew that they would have to go ahead and find the ethereal beast they are looking for first instead of roaming through dangerous lands without an idea of the ethereal beast's location.
The two protectors of Triton soon disappeared, and Damien said, "So now you are stuck with me."
"Hmm. You should maintain a low profile. Don't create unnecessary troubles," Triton said with a side glance.
Damien put up an aggrieved expression, "Hey, what do you take me for? You have no idea how low profile I am. Unless someone asks for it, I am as peaceful as a buddha."
Triton rolled his eyes, and they both continued to explore the Gale Empire.
However, both their handsome looks garnered a lot of attention from the girls walking through the streets, even married ones.
Their husbands could only cough from jealousy and embarrassment, while Triton didn't seem to pay any attention to their stares and continued to walk forward with his head straight.
Damien felt that Triton was getting more attention even from men due to his strangely attractive face that tempts the wild fantasies of women, while the men felt that such a handsome man should not exist.
Triton's calm temperament only increased his charms, further making maidens swoon from just a passing glance.
Damien coughed and said, "Let's have a drink first. We have been walking out for too long."
"I don't really drink. It just makes one feel dizzy. I don't see why people get pleasure from drinking such a thing that muddles your senses," Triton asked with pure curiosity.
Damien felt like facepalming seeing how Triton hasn't yet embraced one of the cultures of men.
Damien grabbed his wrist as he dragged him along, "Come on, don't be a spoilsport. It's better sometimes to drink and think about our life than walk under the hot sun."
Seeing that Damien was grabbing his wrist and dragging him towards a pub named "The Sinful Paradise", Triton frowned and wanted to shake off Damien's hand since this was the first time someone dared to do something like dragging him away by his wrist.
But seeing how eager he looked, Triton sighed and let himself get dragged towards the pub as he also had a slight curiosity about pubs like these.
The Sinful Paradise was two stories big and looked luxurious enough for a pub that was located in the outskirts of the empire while the imperial city was still very far away.
Nor would anyone from the imperial city hang around these areas since they looked down on areas like these.
Why would someone purposefully leave the lofty imperial city to visit a backwater city? Of course, unless they are a fugitive or broke.
The smell of booze and meat wafted through Damien and Triton's noses, making Triton frown even further upon seeing the noisy and stuffy atmosphere.
The boisterous people inside quietened down for a moment upon seeing two men enter the pub.
Damien was dressed in a simple shirt and pants, while Triton also had put on simple yet elegant robes that made everyone else feel that he must be a young master from some dignified, noble family, especially after seeing his drop-dead handsome charms.
Not only the women but even the men's gaze lingered on Triton's face for a while before coughing from embarrassment for staring at a man for too long.
If it was any other beauty, they wouldn't mind staring for hours but staring at a man made themelves question their sexuality.
Damien chuckled, seeing their expressions, while Triton seemed unfazed. Instead, he seemed as if he was trying to look for a quiet corner to sit at.
But sadly, most of the seats were filled, and there were barely any tables with two seats.
They sat near to the middle of the seating area with few other groups of people nearby.
A maid looking in her twenties approached their table, "Respected sirs, may I take your order?"
Seeing the maid, Damien was surprised that she had a baby strapped to her back, and despite being young, her face looked weary and pale due to overwork.
He wondered how she was even allowed to work like this unless the owner made some compromise.
She looked pretty enough to attract some stares from some rowdy men despite the conservative clothing she had put on deliberately to hide her curves.
Triton also was surprised inwardly but didn't show anything on the outward and instead talked to the maid normally, telling her that Damien would be the one ordering the food.
However, he felt pity that she had to look after the baby all on her own, and probably the father must have abandoned them.
"Tonton, you sure you don't want anything?" Damien asked Triton, giving him a nickname as well to call in public.
Triton crinkled his eyes hearing the weird nickname but decided to go along with it since Damien opened his big mouth already.
However, a slight smirk crossed his face as he said, "Pompon, you can order. I don't want anything."
Damien's eyes twitched as he didn't expect a reverse card from Triton. He genuinely tried to come up with the best name he could on that split second and didn't expect Triton to think that he did it on purpose.
Even the maid and the others nearby wondered from which backwater country these two were from to have these weird names and their bad luck to be named like that despite their noble bearings and looks.
Damien, however, coolly acted as if he was born with the name "Pompon" and said to the maid, "We will have the best two drinks here. Ignore whatever my friend says. Just bring two of it."
He then looked at Triton, who was about to refuse, and said, "Relax, just have a sip. It won't kill you. No need to be so stuck-up. If you don't like it, I will drink the rest."
Triton let out a helpless sigh as he rested against the chair while the maid left to prepare the drinks.
They both started talking about casual things when suddenly a group of three men banged the door as they came in.
The one in the middle had a supercilious gaze as his eyes scanned the people sitting around as if he was looking down on them. He also enjoyed the attention the people were giving him with respect in their eyes.
As for the two old men behind him, they were half a head taller than him with large frames but stood behind the young man in the front as if they were just his servants or bodyguards.
Damien didn't give a second glance as he only wanted to see who it was that came in so noisily, and as for Triton, he didn't even glance towards the door.
However, hearing the whispers of the people near him, Damien understood why everyone seemed to quiet down after seeing the young man.
'A wild young master, it seems,' Damien inwardly scoffed.
