Rise Of The Anti God

Chapter 364 - Justice? A Joke Indeed

Nathasia couldn't understand why he didn't want her to, but she dipped her head and said in an apologetic tone, "Sorry…"

Damien didn't say anything anymore and limped towards where the water bottle was and gulped it all within a few seconds.

He then extended his hand as if trying to move the empty water bottle, but nothing happened even when he tried to focus his best.

"Ugh...my powers...they are gone again...great...are the gods still fucking with me…' Damien grumbled and kicked a nearby chair out of frustration.

Nathasia turned around and wondered what was going on in his mind but suppressed her intent to ask and did her best not to bother him.

"Tell me...why are you really here?" Damien asked in a frigid tone.

Nathasia got up and said in her most sincere tone, "I want to help you....I want justice for both of us."

Damien's lips curled as he slightly laughed, "Justice? Heh...what a beautiful word to use as an excuse to destroy beautiful lives…' His gaze became vacant as certain memories flashed in his mind, making his expression twist in resentment and regret.

Nathasia bit her lip but couldn't find any words to reply.

He crumbled the bottle in his hand as he slowly walked towards her, "I am done believing you humans. The only reason you are alive is that I can use you just like you said, but that doesn't mean I trust you a bit. If I find that you in any way are planning to act against me, I will make sure you die in the most miserable way. Understood?"

Damien felt that since his powers were quite unreliable, he could use Nathasia, who seemed so eager to help him. But of course, he had no plans in letting her out of his sight and giving her a chance to do something behind his back.

Hearing the intense coldness in his words, Nathasia felt as if she was talking to some other person but still nodded with her head down, "Y-Yes."

"If you want to go away, then best get out now because after today, there is no going back, and you will have to obey everything I say. Otherwise, the only way you are going out of here is in a body bag."

Nathasia didn't flinch hearing his cruel words and still nodded much to Damien's expectations, making him frown.

He really didn't want her to be here and wanted to be alone. He only considered her a nuisance and a possible weakness that could be detrimental to him if she betrays him later or if someone else uses her to get to him.

He already lost his family because of his so-called sworn brother, whom he had known for over ten years.

So how could he trust someone whom he barely knew for more than a month?

But he couldn't understand why he even bothered to let her free or why he can't just kill her and get it over with instead of having one more thing to worry about.

Still, no matter how much he wanted to, his hand just wouldn't move towards his blade to strike at her.

So, he decided to make the best use of her to complete whatever objectives he had. He still had the main target to take revenge against, the sworn brother who betrayed him, Merlin Tan.

He found where he lived when he forced out information from certain people, and now all he had to do was go to his home where he was surely hiding and make him suffer.

But since he couldn't rely on his powers as there was little to no chance that he would be able to use them again, he knew he would have to take extra measures to succeed in his plan and had to think of a way how he could incorporate Nathasia into this plan.

He didn't really care whether he dies or not during his hunt as long as he at least kills Merlin Tan. He already had a feeling that his days were numbered and it mainly had got to do something with his unusual bursts of powers that randomly manifested in him whenever he was in his most emotional state.

He could feel it in his soul that he, anyways, did not have long to live since after each time his powers randomly manifested in him, he would feel as if he was losing something precious.

The next few days were totally silent as Damien didn't say a single word to Nathasia and totally ignored her while Nathasia was too hesitant to say anything to him but couldn't help being concerned after seeing him so depressed.

Sometimes she sensed a melancholy air from him, sometimes a vengeful one filled with killing intent and at other times a woeful one.

She could understand why he was like this, but she had no idea how much he really suffered, especially when he was in the supermax prison in the past.

However, she had a feeling that Damien always had a watchful eye over her but didn't mind it. Instead, she would silently observe him from afar, trying to figure out what he was thinking about.

But food and water were running out since there were only a limited number of supplies in the abandoned warehouse.

Damien also realized since he also had normal human needs. So, he decided to go out and get some under disguise.

But since he didn't want Nathasia to tag along nor leave her here alone, he decided to chain her to a post so that she wouldn't be able to leave the warehouse on her own.

"I will be back soon. Better not try anything foolish," Damien sternly said before leaving, and Nathasia didn't protest even if her legs were chained to a post.

Damien continued to do this as days passed, and he would return by dusk with supplies.

Nathasia had no idea if he was going out only to collect basic supplies or something as well. Sometimes she also spotted blood on his dress, though it wasn't obviously his since she couldn't spot any injuries.

However, this didn't make her stop from worrying, wondering whether he was reckless by fighting his enemies outside.

She already observed that his using his powers clearly took a toll on him, but she had no idea that Damien wasn't able to use his powers after the day they both came here.

Even though Damien was treating her badly, she didn't take it to heart and instead understood the reason behind his actions.

Besides, she knew there was no turning back since she already came this far, nor was there any other place she could go to.

The food he always brought was canned food, as if he couldn't bother to cook food on his own.

She noticed how Damien was looking a bit pale over the days and said out of concern, "Maybe if you let me, I can hunt down some animals in the nearby forest and cook you some meat. O-Or you can just bring one on the way if you don't trust me. It would be good for y—"

"Shut up! Just mind your own goddamn business, and I will decide what you will eat and what you won't," Damien said with a glare before lying down on the sofa.

"But I…" Nathasia was about to say something, thinking that Damien misunderstood her but didn't say anything anymore.

The next day, Nathasia was focusing on using her powers when her eyes widened upon seeing the doors of the warehouse open.
