Chapter 521 - Why Is He Still Alive?
"Feeling scared that I will command you to obey me?" Luna chuckled with a cold smirk, making Damien feel goosebumps all over his skin, but then he thought that Luna was just messing with him, and if she wanted to control him, she would have done it a long time ago.
"So wait…your second soul shard gives you the power to command anyone? Like, make them obey you?" Damien asked in a tone of awe, feeling that this was not surprising considering she was the Ethereal One, and her commands must have been like a heaven's decree, irrefutable and irrefusable. Who would dare to refuse the orders of the Ethereal One even without her domineering Absolute Command powers?
Damien thought that this ability of hers was slightly overkill but probably useful in the present vulnerable situation of her existence.
Luna scoffed, "Only command people? You really underestimate the ability of my Absolute Command trait."
Damien's expression became flummoxed as he asked, "Then…what else can you do with that ability?"
Luna raised her chin and said with a hint of pride in her eyes, "I can impose absolute commands upon reality itself, be it natural or supernatural, living or nonliving. No matter what, with just a single word or gesture from me, I can unquestionably bend anything and everything to my will."
She then looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes and continued, "For example, with just a few words, I can turn you into a dog by just saying 'You are a dog'. I remember you talking about becoming the strongest dog in the universe or something, right?"
Damien gulped as he suddenly took a look at himself out of worry that her words would change his reality. However, he let out a loud sigh of relief, seeing that his body was perfectly fine and he was still human.
"Hehe, did you get scared there?" Luna giggled in amusement and felt gleeful that she spooked him as revenge for taking advantage of her. She then continued with a lofty smile, "Trust me, you would have become my cute pet dog already if I felt like it. But nah…you can continue to serve this goddess for a while more."
Damien felt indignant and said, "Hmph, even if you turn me into a dog, the last thing I would do is serve someone."
Luna raised one of her brows, "Oh? We will see about that later…"
'Wait…did she mean it seriously?...' Damien felt as if the current Luna was even more dangerous and mischievous than before and more…bewitching?
"Don't worry, Master! I will protect you from this evil goddess," Kalypso said with her chest puffed up, making Luna curve her lips into a teasing smile.
"Wait…then can you not just command your missing soul shards to manifest before yourself or something like that? Or how about giving a command that would return all of your powers to you?" Damien thought that with her broken ability, she could just do whatever she wanted to do, right?
Luna let out a low sigh and shook her head as she said, "If only things were that easy, but no…even my powers have limits, especially in my current precarious state. My soul shards exist beyond the laws of reality, and thus my own commands cannot affect them. After all, this reality exists because of those shards, so it's impossible for my commands to affect them. Besides, even bending reality to my will in my current state would require a tremendous amount of my soul energy the more the things I am trying to affect are strongly attuned with the laws of reality. For example, the energy required to kill a lowly cultivator with my words is negligible compared to the energy required to destroy a planet using my commands. But if I was complete and whole and had full access to my powers, then I need not worry about expending energy since I would have a potentially infinite amount of it."
"Whoa…your powers are truly broken even in your current state. But then how did you end up like this if you could have just commanded Anti-God to die before he pushed you to this state?" Damien didn't have anything against Anti-God but only the opposite, but still, he was curious if Anti-God's abilities were able to circumvent Luna's overpowered abilities.
Luna harrumphed as she shook her head, "How do I know? I still don't remember what happened with my fight against your so-called benefactor. You have no idea how much it tempts me to destroy that little Origin Seed in your ethereal core and destroy every single trace of his existence, especially after what he did to me."
"Hey! Don't talk about my previous Master like that! You, evil goddess, must have done something bad for him to punish you like this. He does not do anything without good reason. Sigh, if only I could remember what happened…"
"You little Spirit Sword…Are you asking for a beating from this goddess?"
"Oh yeah? You were 'little' too not long ago. Bring it on! I am not afraid of you, witch!"
"Guys, calm down!" Damien quickly intervened before another world-shaking battle could occur, and he gets stuck in the middle of it.
"Oh my god, I almost forgot…why is he still alive?" Damien realized that he had forgotten about the elephant in the room, who was none other than the unconscious Yohr, looking all bloodied and pitiful, making it hard for one to believe that this monstrous ethereal beast was a god.
If he had the ability, he would have already killed off this monster and be done with it. But if even Luna didn't kill him yet, then he realized that it could only be for a good reason.
Luna's frigid gaze landed on Yohr as she said in a cutting tone, "Hmph, he will die soon after I made sure to extract the maximum benefits from him before he dies. I remembered some of my past, including the existence of this lowly snake. He was nothing but a servant I created, and look how he dared to bare his fangs at me after hiding away my soul shard.. Serves him right."
