Rise Of The Hoarder

364 Reversed Roles

Lemuel, Uriel, and Raphael stared at the destruction that spread for miles.

The culprits for the mess in sight were none other than the three Archangels.

After completely blitzing the Singularity’s—Jeremy Lewis’s—crew, they had proceeded to disintegrate him as well.

The task seemed like overkill considering even one of them would have been enough to do what the three had achieved.

Still, they knew better than to question the will of the Supreme Beings.

“They aren’t the ones in charge of this domain, but we are to abide by the Celestial Statute,” Lemuel spoke with a shrug.

“Singularities must be purged. it’s a shame Sariel lost to that… thing.” Uriel uttered, showing slight repulsion.

“Let’s restore the landscape—and everything else we devastated—so we can return.”

Realizing that their task was yet to be complete, the three Archangels combined their powers and began rewinding the effects of the excessive use of their abilities.

The environment had suffered as a result of their one-sided victory over Jeremy Lewis, so it was up to them to repair the damage.

“The System shouldn’t permit our presence. If not for the recent patch that was infused, we wouldn’t have gotten this much leeway.”

“The window of opportunity is coming to an end, so let us hurry.”

“Yeah.”

All three combined their red, blue, and yellow colors, and spread a beam of glittering light flying around.

Instantly, the area was enveloped in otherworldly energy. The damaged ground slowly restored itself, and the parted clouds reconfigured.

Everything that was devastated for miles slowly regained its previously complete form—and in a matter of seconds, the world was back to normal.

Well, almost.

“Haa… I’m exhausted. Restoration on this scale while utilizing the (G) Essence of another Sector is tiring.”

“Yeah. Converting it to suit this reality’s frequency is tedious.”

“In any case, we were given a sheer amount, so it was enough to handle business. The (G) Essence is almost used up, though.”

The Archangels weren’t bothered, though. Their tasks had been completed, so there was no longer any need to stick around.

They gave a last glance in a particular direction, watching a particular human fight the last of the Four Horsemen.

“Seems like the pawn will emerge victorious.”

“Just as the Supreme Beings desire.”

“This should conclude this event.”

The Archangels were pleased.

While their Supreme Being betrayed the Order, and went against the System’s protocols, they were not designed to follow suit.

They simply obeyed their orders and derived pleasure in doing so.

“Let’s head back.”

>VWUUUUUSHHHH<

A warp in space appeared before the three, and a multicolored light burst from the wormhole.

It was simply a gateway that connected the reality they currently we’re to their destination—The Corridor.

“The work is done.”

“Indeed.”

“Let us depart.”

>BZZZZZZZTTTTT<

As soon as they jointly approached the wide wormhole, a sudden buzz echoed across the area.

The multicolored portal suddenly faded in color, as though frozen in a monopigmented world.

The Archangels also felt an invisible wall preventing them from drawing closer to their ticket out of the world they were in.

The field was too strong for the three, causing them to exchange perplexed expressions.

“What in the—?!”

Just as they jointly questioned the strange phenomenon, another gateway opened up behind them.

The sudden warp in space, and the white light sharply coming from the new hole, made the Archangels turn in the direction of the strange phenomenon.

From within the brimming white warp point, a certain being emerged.

No, it wasn’t just one entity. They were actually two who came forth.

One looked like a young adult, having black and white hair, a confident and attractive look, as well as an immense amount of power bursting from him.

The second looked more familiar. It was Sariel, an Archangel—a former acquaintance of the three gawking audiences.

“T-this is…!”

“No, it can not be!”

“H-how—?!”

The white portal closed once the two beings were fully out, completely majestic in there appearances.

The man had a slick black jacket, matching dark pants, white inner apparel, and nice-looking sneakers—ordinary garb for a cool human.

If it wasn’t for the great amount of energy pouring out of each of the outfits he wore—as well as the man himself—the Archangels would have simply taken him as a person with good drip.

The Archangel, on the other hand, was armed with her silver armor, and her blank expression depicted that she meant business.

“Sariel! You’re here? How?” Uriel was the first to speak out.

“Who is the one with you? Why does he have that much power?” Lemuel looked cautious.

“What kind of entity… what kind of existence is that?!”

The Archangel Sariel did not respond to the inquisitions of her former allies.

Her eyes simply turned to the one whom they were all wary of.

Why, though?

What brought about the widening of eyes and the slight trembling of body parts?

The one floating before them looked like a human. Sure, he appeared strangely calm amid all the trouble, and he had great power—since he did not flinch in the presence of their pressure—but he was still a human, right?

No!

The answer was that he wasn’t a human—at least not according to the judgment of those who watched him.

“You can’t see my Status Window, can you?” The young man’s voice finally came forth.

It was calm and soothing to the ear.

The graceful sound humbled the three Archangels who still struggled to understand what was occurring.

“Now you know how it feels. Haa, it feels strange not knowing, right? I totally understand.”

The Archangels watched as he chuckled slightly, wondering what was so funny about the current situation.

“I understand that you don’t recognize me because of my current state. Well, how about this?”

Instantly, the being’s form was altered, transcending the bounds of common sense, and a familiar entity stood before them.

“Y-you—?!”

“The Singularity!”

“Jeremy Lewis!”

Their voices overlapped, causing the human to laugh even more.

“Hahaha, you should see your expressions. Classic.”

The Archangels felt mocked, but just as they were recoiling from their shock and switching gear to the defensive, the human spoke once again.

“Why don’t we continue where we left off? It seems I’m still outnumbered, but… surely, you guys can tell, right?”

Widening his sneering grin, the human’s energy flickered before their very eyes.

“Our positions have been reversed.”
