Chapter 540 The Expected Arrival
"Kaizen, you came..." Ravastine stated, with a mixture of relief, weariness and hope in his voice.
Morgaroth who was holding the King's Sword and was about to attack Ravastine, looked at Kaizen over his left shoulder and his countenance immediately turned serious.
"So, you are Kaizen." Morgaroth stated. "I've been looking forward to meeting you, just let me finish what I'm doing first and we'll have exchanged a few words." Then, Morgaroth moves to brandish the King's Sword to attack Kaizen.
However, Kaizen reaches forward, using <Psychokinesis> and locks Morgaroth's entire body, preventing the attack from hitting Ravastine.
At that moment, Morgaroth lets out a grin, "Wow, you're actually able to use Telekinesis or at least something like it.... That's impressive, Psyker."
Kaizen chose not to pay attention to the man for the moment. Instead, he looked into Ravastine's eyes and inquired:
"Can you move? If so, get behind me. Don't worry about him, I won't let him move a finger until you are safe."
Despite what Kaizen said, it was hard work to contain Morgaroth's movements and it was taking a lot of MP.
Lydia, Ravastine and King Steveren got away from Morgaroth as fast as they could. Lidia helped Steveren, because he was bleeding severely in his belly.
"Is that deadly?" Kaizen inquired to Steveren as he approached.
Steveren smiled despite his deteriorating expression and physical condition. "No, I am made of iron. To kill me, he would have to take my head off. Don't worry, I'll be fine."
"Stay still, Dad. I will heal you." Lydia stated and then looked at Kaizen conveying gratitude.
For her part, Ravastine was obstinate, so she stopped beside Kaizen and asked:
"What shall we do now? I can take advantage of you holding him and I can rip his head off."
At that instant, Kaizen looked sternly at the second princess. "I understand your anger and your courage, but my only concern now is that you three stay safe..."
"But-" Ravastine was about to insist and was interrupted by the Psyker himself.
"Arthas is alive too. I'll try to save him after I'm done with this guy. But for now, Hellround, pay attention to me this time." Kaizen ordered to the summoner standing next to him and growling at Morgaroth. "You need to guide them out of here and protect them from anyone, alright? That is not an order, but rather the last request of the one who fed you until today."
Hellround looked at Kaizen and immediately nodded and barked, confirming that he agreed with the request.
Kaizen smiled and then looked at Ravastine. "Worry about your family now. We'll meet later. By the way, it was good to see you."
The girl was slightly surprised and finally understood the situation. "I'll wait for you."
So when the four of them finally left the chamber of the tomb of the kings, Kaizen turned his attention to Morgaroth with a serious expression.
The air was charged with tension as Kaizen and Morgaroth stared each other down. Their intense, determined stares reflected the magnitude of the confrontation that was about to unfold. The dim torches that illuminated the tomb cast dancing shadows across the stone walls, adding to the atmosphere of mystery and danger.
Kaizen could feel the psychic energy flowing through the air from holding Morgaroth for so long.
The silence was finally broken by the sound of Morgaroth's annoying voice, which questioned:
"Aren't you going to interrogate me or something? Don't you want to know what my purpose was?"
"I don't need to ask. You wanted the King's Sword..." replied Kaizen.
"So that woman really opened her mouth to you. I knew I couldn't have trusted her too much."
"Don't blame her. She even tried to resist, but my charm was too much for him. By the way, before I let you go so we can cross ours, I have a question for you: why were you about to kill the royal family when you could have just run away? You had time to leave."
Morgaroth smiled malevolently. "What good would it do to leave witnesses alive? Haven't you ever read a thriller book? The criminal must always clean up the crime scene."
Kaizen frowned, processing Morgaroth's words. He knew that the man before him was dangerous and cunning, but this response baffled him.
"You are a monster." Kaizen said firmly. "To think of killing innocent people, especially young ones.... It's something that goes beyond any limit."
Morgaroth merely laughed, revealing a cold contempt in his gaze. "Monster? Perhaps. But remember, Psyker, we all have our own inner demons. And now, I think we've said too much. Loki, now!"
Without even having time to respond, a pool of black sludge suddenly appeared beneath Kaizen's feet, causing him to sink as if into a pool of quicksand and forcing him to deactivate the prison of <Psychokinesis> that was enveloping Morgaroth in order to save himself.
At the exact moment Kaizen deactivated the ability, Morgaroth lunged towards him with a dash, already swinging the King's Sword towards him.
With time against Kaizen, he struggled to free himself from the black slime that bound him, lifting himself with <Psychokinesis> to escape this strange magic.
The pale warrior lunged forward with ferocity, his blow targeting the helpless Psyker.
At the last instant, Kaizen managed to break free of the black slime, rolling to the side and narrowly escaping the killing blow. The King's Sword sliced through the air, leaving a trail of dark energy in its path.
Kaizen regained his stance and quickly drew the Ragnarok Sword, channeling his energy to face the formidable foe.
"That sword..." Morgaroth said, looking at the Ragnarok.
"Exactly, it has enough power to bury both of us in that tomb if need be." Kaizen stated, smiling.
