Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 73 Top Of The Hill

When Kaizen heard the shrill roar coming from deep within the region, he forgot what he was about to do and ran in the direction of the sound.

Using <Telekinesis> to break his falls, he was 20 meters deep into the Howling Cliffs before he knew it.

The storm's strong wind whipped up the peak of the colossal, naturally tumbling obelisks and produced a noise resembling the howling of wolves. The roar of thunder was the only thing that muffled these incessant sounds.

When he had finally climbed to the top of a hill with the greenish lantern in one hand and the Spear of Theus in the other, Kaizen glanced in the direction of the chasm in the center of the area. He clenched his eyes tightly to believe what he saw and blinked at least ten times. Among dozens of people fighting and screaming, there was a goat-faced monster with no muzzle, with long horns bent backward, whose upper body was that of a human, or almost, and whose lower body was that of a horse. It held a spear with a greenish blade and a handle made of vines and wood. Few could withstand the fierce blow of its spear.

Kaizen saw the monster swing his spear in the direction of a man with light brown hair who was not wearing armor, but an overcoat with the sleeves rolled up. All Kaizen could see analyzing this man's statistics was his name: Taznaar.

Taznaar did not dare to block the centaur's spear. He stepped on his mount and jumped back a few feet.

*Raaaawr*

His mount was a black wolf almost four meters tall. However, even though he was swift, the centaur struck the wolf's chest with his spear and, with one pull, split it in half. This broke Taznaar's heart. A Mutant Rank Beast mount was very rare and could be worth as much as a car.

"How is this creature so strong?" Kaizen was shocked.

He could see with his special ability that the average level of the fighting players was higher than 50, because he couldn't read most of the stats. Still, no one was fighting carelessly against the creature in the center.

<strong>[Boss:</strong> Centaur Druid

At the same time that Kaizen was in shock because he also couldn't even get an idea of the number of attribute points Boss had, the creature advanced and killed dozens of people instantly. No one was able to fight back.

Amid the nearly one hundred people fighting the Centaur Druid, there were people Kaizen recognized, like Salles, Korgrak, Jeewok, and Klank. Still, there were also people he didn't know, like a woman in red armor with intensely purple hair and Taznaar himself. They were all working together to try to defeat this Boss of frightening strength.

There was also a red-haired woman who was no stranger to Kaizen, but he could not remember where he had seen her before. As hard as he tried to remember, he couldn't.

The monster was hit by metal arrows from all directions and hadn't even taken a scratch. When he swung his spear, no one could get close.

A creature as powerful as this matched Kaizen's impression of a Mythic Rank monster. People were hoping to get the Boss in a trap, surrounding him and preventing his movements, but the Tank Class players could not take all the damage after Taznaar's mount was killed. The Boss was advancing wildly, waving his spear and leaving screams, blood, and limbs behind. It took only a few moments to break out of the encirclement planned by the players.

As soon as it leaped onto a large rock, it turned smugly and stood on its front legs, flaunting and roaring like a bull before running for the border that separated the mages' illumination magic and darkness.

"Shit! He wants to escape!" shouted the Blood Lily and furiously summoned a longbow with a golden arrow that, when shot, turned into a beautiful golden bird with large feathers.

Upon seeing the arrow, Taznaar and Dathan were shocked.

"So, you took the arrow loot from that Epic creature?" Taznaar asked.

A few weeks ago, Bloody Lily joined forces with Taznaar in the raid for the Four-Winged Pheasant of Epic rank. Bloody Lily was the one who delivered the final blow. However, they just didn't imagine that she was so fortunate as to have earned the special drop, and she didn't reveal that until that moment either.

On Midgard, there were less than a thousand people with known Epic Rank items, and many of these were left by those who had already evolved.

However, this arrow was a consumable item, meaning that it could only be used once. If the Blood Lily did not manages to kill the Centaur Druid, Its use would have been an enormous waste. The Blood Lily had already shot the Special arrow with a full pull before Dathan could remind her of that fact.

The mythical creature sensed the imminent danger and turned around. Just as the Pheasant-shaped arrow was about to hit its chest and explode, which would open a massive hole in its flesh, the Centaur Druid brandished his spear and struck the shaft of the arrow, which knocked it to the ground.

All the players were hopeless. If even the Blood Lily Guild and the Taznaar Guild couldn't kill this monster, probably no one could.

After the explosion occurred, the Centaur Druid raised his front legs as he had done before, taunting the players.

Kaizen was not reasoning very well as it was the first time he had seen a Mythic Rank creature, so he ran toward the monster without hesitation for a second through the higher ground.

The Psyker's hurried run knocked over some rocks that rolled downhill where the players were standing, alerting some of them.

"Hey, you guys see that glow?"

"What's that?"

"It's green. I wonder if it's some kind of monster."

At that moment, the light of a lightning bolt illuminated the Howling Cliff, and half of the players could see a man running awkwardly through the complicated terrain above them.

Kaizen looked at the players and, even as he gasped, shouted, "Watch and learn!"

When Taznaar heard this, he gritted his teeth in anger. "He wants to steal our prey! Don't let him! Attack the creature first!"
