275 Slice of Life
Elliot could only chuckle and let the beasts sort out the mess by themselves.
Whether they want to hold an impromptu sex education class for the kids or whether they want to go the “lie to them till they discover the truth by themselves” route was completely their choice to make.
Elliot wanted no part of it!
“Thanks Camelia. I’ll be right there.” Elliot replied in a friendly tone.
He leapt down from Brock’s massive shoulders, dismissed all his beasts and made his way back to the camp.
Only that it wasn’t a camp, but a massive fortress!
Three huge towers with a combined size of a football field jutted out into the sky atop an equally large rectangular building. Thick, thirty meter tall black coloured walls surrounded that building and brought the overall size of the fortress to approximately the size of a standard football stadium.
It was awe-inspiring, and looked perfect as humanity’s strongest bastion.
Well, at least within the American Continents.
“Elliot! Over here!” Camelia called out from atop the massive fortress gate while waving at him excitedly.
Kara, Jessica and Jennifer were there as well.
They had somehow managed to find a round table and five chairs, and had set up a dining area overlooking the sparse forest and the distant mountains all around. pᴀɴᴅᴀ-ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ.ᴄᴏᴍ
For a discerning onlooker, he or she would immediately pick up the strangeness of the situation.
A proper meal? Atop a fortress? Right before setting out on a dangerous mission? During an apocalypse?
…
Why?
But of course, poor Elliot, for all the points he dumped into intelligence, failed to notice the strangeness of it all.
He was the type that would indulge his sisters anything, and if they wanted a meal on a table before setting off on a big hunt for Emperors and Hegemons, then a meal on a table would be what they will get.
Elliot waved back at Camelia and immediately blinked to their position.
“Hi girls.” Elliot smiled and beamed at the four beautiful girls and the huge amount of food on the table. “Wow! What a sumptuous meal!”
“Hi Elliot!” Kara smiled back at him.
Jessica and Jennifer, however, ignored him and continued their twin-speak.
Strangely, they were… quarreling? pᴀɴᴅᴀ ɴoᴠᴇʟ
Both were glaring at each other while furiously changing their expressions, raising eyebrows, rolling their eyes, flaring their nostrils, smirking, scoffing, sneering, making little hand gestures and doing all sorts of non-verbal things that carry deep meanings and which only twins can understand.
“Errr… Jess? Jen? Are you two okay?” Elliot asked with a concerned voice.
As one, they turned to face him and transferred their glares to him.
“You need to make a choice soon, big bro.” Jennifer said seriously.
“It’s not good to keep them waiting.” Jessica added while nodding sagely.
“Huh? What are you two talking about?” Elliot asked them in confusion.
He had absolutely no clue what they were referring to!
“Sister CAMELIA made you a delicious meal! Here, come try it!” Jennifer said loudly and grabbed Elliot’s right hand.
She pushed him down on a chair and shoved a plate full of delicious smelling grilled meat in front of him.
“Sister KARA helped out too, in fact, she was the one who grilled these potatoes. Here, try them!” Jessica wouldn’t be outdone and shoved a plate full of perfectly done potatoes in front of him as well.
“Eat the meat first!” Jennifer immediately said. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
“No, eat the potatoes first!” Jessica said with a frown.
“Meat is good for you! It has proteins, and it will be able to take good care of you!” Jennifer glared at Jessica.
“Potatoes are even better! It is nutritious, and it is much younger than the meat!” Jessica glared back at Jennifer.
“The meat is full of mature charm, it is also tender and sweet. It will make you very happy!” Jennifer shouted.
“The potato is full of youthful vigor, it will be able to satisfy all of your needs!” Jessica shouted back.
“The meat is perfectly ready to be eaten! It is at the peak of awesomeness!”
“So is the potato! If you eat it now, it will make you so happy that you will cry out in pleasure!”
“The meat…”
“The potato…”
“Alright girls stop quarelling. Look, I’ve stacked a piece of meat on a piece of potato, and I’ll eat them both together. Ahmmmm!” Elliot opened his mouth wide.
“NOO!!!” Both girls shouted in horror.
“Big bro you big pervert!” Jennifer covered her face with her hands while peeking at him through the gaps of her slightly separated fingers.
“Big bro! I didn’t know you’re this type of person!!” Jessica didn’t cover her face, but it turned a really bright shade of red.
Elliot froze in shock with the slab of meat and potato halfway into his mouth.
When had eating meat and potatoes at the same time become an act of perversion??
Elliot blinked once and then decided to eat it anyway.
Chomp. Chomp. Chomp.
“Ahhhh! I can’t bear to see it!”
“Nooo!! Big broo, how could you do such a thing?”
Chomp. Chomp. Chomp. Gulp.
“They are really as good as you girls said. Well done, Camelia and Kara. You two are really great cooks!” Elliot gave them each a grin and a thumbs up.
Camelia blushed lightly in pleasure and smiled sweetly at Elliot.
Kara merely nodded and helped herself to a serving of the meat and potatoes as well.
“You two girls want to sit down and join us for the meal?” Elliot turned to look at both his sisters and gestured at the two empty chairs.
Both girls glared at Elliot for a few seconds before finally sighing deeply and shaking their heads.
“I guess it can’t be helped.” Jennifer said.
“Our brother is too cool, too amazing. One probably isn’t enough.” Jessica agreed.
“Yes. In fact, they had more than two. I think they had up to four.”
“So… we are in agreement?”
“I guess so. We have no choice. It’s his life and his happiness. If he wants both…”
“Just make sure you treat them well.” Jennifer glared at Elliot.
“And just two, no more than that, alright?” Jessica shook her finger at him.
“No, I want more than two. In fact, I want three to four different ones every night!” Elliot said loudly and innocently. “Meat AND potatoes, then maybe some fruits AND vegetables after.”
Jennifer and Jessica could only look at him in horror.
