297 Starting a Cake Shop

Nope.

It’s not time to cash out. In fact, it’s time to sell all your assets and dump them into Elliot. But of course very few had the foresight and the mental fortitude (read: greed) to do that.

Because apparently, he had some sort of mysterious power that made him able to kill Emperors very easily!

His “stock price” shot up once more to 10 dollars.

Many of those who wanted to jump on the Elliot Musk bandwagon hesitated. It seemed improbable that he could still rise higher.

It’s a thousand percent! He should be done right? I mean, everything that goes up must come down… Right?

Wrong.

Very soon after that, for reasons completely unknown, he was soon able to cause a Hegemon to run away from him in fear!

What? No way! Does it mean that he has the power to contend with Hegemons now, and even threaten their lives? That’s crazy! Crazy!!

His stock price shot up beyond reason. pᴀɴᴅᴀ-ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ.ᴄᴏᴍ

Fifteen dollars. Twenty dollars. Fifty dollars!

A cult following of fanatic fans started to appear.

Elliot Muskers.

The Way of the Musk.

Elliot Musk For Universe President.

Housewives in love with Elliot Musk.

Single Moms for Elliot Musk Forever and Ever.

Those who hesitated bemoaned not betting on him. But many were still unwilling jump on his bandwagon.

Surely, very surely, this time, he is done, right? They hesitated and ruminated and divined and prayed and cast lots about it.

His supporters were counting their winnings in absolute glee, while his naysayers started to diverge into two very distinct groups. pᴀɴᴅᴀ ɴoᴠᴇʟ

One group gave in and started betting on him. They could no longer bear looking at the happy faces of their friends who had earned a literal ton of money, and decided that enough was enough. They want in!

The other group bet against his continued growth, utterly convinced that he could no longer grow any stronger, or even sustain his current rate of growth.

There was no way a person that was worth one dollar could grow 50x and still continue that insane rate of growth, right?

Right??

Wrong.

All hell broke loose when he began killing Hegemons like culling lifestock.

His price shot up to 100 dollars. Then two hundred dollars. And it kept rising and rising nonstop, reaching an incredible three hundred dollars!

Many who noticed him early but withheld betting on him because each time they felt that he was soaring way too high pulled their hair out in frustration.

They could have been mega millionaires!

His cult fan base grew more fanatic. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

Groups with even stranger names started to pop out.

We love Elliot Musk unconditionally.

Brides of Elliot Musk. (This one reached a staggering two billion members within two days. Mostly females. Mostly.)

We are willing to be Elliot Musk’s Harem. (This one was second with one point two billion members within two days.)

Surrogate Mothers Willing to buy Elliot Musk’s Sperm for a High Price. (Third with eight hundred million within two days.)

Elliot Musk Is A Conspiracy. (Fourth with five hundred million.)

In the general populace, Elliot’s stock price had stabilized at around three hundred dollars.

But within those in the know about the bed bugs, his stock price had skyrocketed once more, exceeding “five hundred dollars” in some cases.

“Those are the Gaming Commission’s secret bugs aren’t they? … Indestructible Crystal Bargans… Right? And they are almost very literally… Indestructible… Right???”

“What the hell? Those Bargans aren’t meant to be killed, right? Weren’t they designed to be obstacles that would drop down from the sky to make the track more difficult to transverse? Why they heck is he sending his beasts to kill them??”

“What is wrong with him?? Why is he destroying the track? He wants all of his fellow humans to pass the first monthly race and get participation prizes? It’s a good idea but… What the hell man…”

Chairman El’Taras sighed deeply.

The Indestructible Crystal Bargans weren’t cheap to breed. True, he did make an unimaginably huge amount of money through Elliot’s ridiculous performance.

But still, he’d like to maintain that huge amount of money, thank you very much, and not have to spend a portion of it to repair his tracks.

“In his defense, those bugs did look like they wanted to attack. He did, afterall, just go through a beast tide facing similar situations.” Director Sands said mildly with a satisfied smile.

All the directors had shares in the Gaming Commission, and Director Sands was, in actual fact and unbeknownst to his dearest granddaughter who loved to spend his money, a very, very rich old man.

He truly couldn’t care less about the pittance the Gaming Commission had to spend to repair the track!

“His attacks truly have a very unique property to them, one that could pierce through the strongest of all the common defenses in the known universe could mount. With this performance, all superpowers no longer have any option but to go all out to get their hands on him. Whoever manages to do so would gain a secret weapon that they could use to attack the others!” Director Sightless Xar said in an ethereal voice.

“True. But they would also do their best to sabotage each other’s attempts to get him. I believe the war would erupt sooner than many of us would expect. And it would be a preventive war for many of them.

Put pressure on their weak points, incite rebellion, activate secret cards, and if nothing works, march on their capital, just to make sure they don’t get their hands on Elliot.

Better a war without Elliot in their enemy’s hands, than one with him.” Director Goldwing analyzed.

“Localized war will increase our revenue, but a full Universal War would drastically reduce it. We must move to avoid a Universal War from erupting. I believe Elliot Musk has contributed enough. It is time to reel in the huge amount of wealth currently betting ON him by killing him! I propose we-” Director Darkwing started to say before being interrupted.

“Elliot Musk cannot die.” Chairman El’Taras said quietly but with great force.

“If he dies, the Universal War will be avoided, and we will make the largest windfall in the entire history of the Gaming Commission! Chairman, do you know how much we stand to make with Elliot’s death? It’s-“

“I will not repeat myself.” Chairman El’Taras’ eyes glowed slightly silver to convey that he was being serious.

The Black Dragon Director snapped his mouth shut at that.

Silver eyed El’Taras was a demon incarnate. He wouldn’t want to face him that way for all the wealth in the universe.

Hell no.

He’d rather become a beggar by the roadside than deal with silver eyed El’Taras who was rumored to be strong enough to deal with Ancients easily!

“So what do we do now?” Director Sands asked quietly.

Chairman El’Taras looked at Director Sands and said very frankly.

“It depends on how many Chilly Pancakes we have and how quickly the rest of it can be cooked. Maybe… It’s time for us to seriously consider starting a cake shop.”

All the directors in the room dropped their jaws in shock.
