Chapter 28 - Armored Kaijin
However, the horrific scene that greeted him was one that even the Primal Feline, for all its savagery and bloodthirst, did not expect.
A literal river of BLOOD flowed freely from the badly mangled and mutilated corpses of thousands of dead monkeys spread out all over the place.
Atop each dead monkey were two or three little beasts that looked like giant lizards the size of a little dog. The beasts had six clawed legs and two lizard heads, each with a unicorn-like horn protruding on top. Although still obviously newborns, they already looked deadly.
And at that moment, they were all feeding on the dead monkeys.
“Baby Armored Kaijins!” Elliot’s mind shouted in recognition. “I was right. But these babies pose no danger to us. The adult Armored Kaijins, where are they?!”
However, the Primal Feline didn’t have the patience to deal with Elliot’s questions. He was thoroughly pissed off.
GRAAARRRR!!!
He roared out in anger!
HOW DARE THESE PEASANT BEASTS IGNORE ME! WOLVES! TIGER! ELLIE! REX! BROCK! ATTACK!!
The Primal Feline didn’t wait for the others to arrive and quickly charged ahead.
STOMP! CRACKK!!pᴀɴᴅᴀ-ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ.ᴄᴏᴍ
He stepped heavily on the first baby Armored Kaijin and crushed it to death.
“Ah ok. Killing the baby Kaijins are fine too! This way we’ll definitely weaken the Armored Kaijin Tribe! Heck, we might even wipe them out completely! LET’S KILL THEM ALL BEFORE THE ADULTS RETURN!” Elliot shouted from the control center in his mind.
The Primal Feline was happy to oblige.
SLASH!
He cut the other baby Armored Kaijin that was feasting mindlessly on the dead monkey into two.
Finally, after brutally killing two of their siblings, the other baby Armored Kaijins finally realized that Elliot wasn’t there to merely say hi.
Scweee!! Scweeeee!! Scweee!!
They began to scream their little screams and scampered towards Elliot aggressively.
STOMP!
SLASH! pᴀɴᴅᴀ ɴoᴠᴇʟ
SLASH!
STOMP!
SLASH!
One baby Armored Kaijin at a time, the Primal Feline quickly carved a bloody path through the already blood-filled area.
Beside him, the wolves, the tiger, Ellie and Rex were similarly having a wonderful time killing the little baby monsters.
Though they numbered in the thousands, the baby Armored Kaijins were still extremely fragile and weak. A single bite by Elliot’s beasts was enough to kill them. It was the perfect spot to grind levels!
And to make things better, they would be saving countless Californian lives for each baby Armored Kaijin they killed there!
“Here I come!” A ferocious roar accompanied by loud, earth-shaking footsteps sounded from the forest as Brock charged as fast as he could towards them.
GROARR!! ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
Brock’s gigantic 5-meter frame burst out of the forest and immediately bore down on the massive crowd of baby Armored Kaijins.
If the baby Armored Kaijins were being brutally killed before, they were about to be brutally massacred.
As the seconds ticked into minutes, Elliot began to receive the notifications that he had grown to love and look forward to.
[Rex has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
[Ellie has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
[Congratulations, You have levelled up to level 23!]
[Rex has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
[Ellie has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
[Rex has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
[Ellie has gained 1 level for killing a level 1 baby Armored Kaijin.]
From thousands, to hundreds and finally, down to the final baby Armored Kaijin.
STOMP!
The Primal Feline killed it ruthlessly.
AWOOOOO!!!!
ROARRRRRR!!!
GROARRR!!!
GROAARRR!!!
All of them roared out and vented their excitement after a job well done.
The Primal Feline truly enjoyed that short but bloody massacre, Elliot could feel its bloodlust and excitement growing with each kill. However, it was not yet satisfied. What it yearned for was a true battle with a worthy opponent.
The Primal Feline looked ahead at the huge cave entrance at the base of the volcano and quickly made his way there. His instinct and his senses told him that he would find what he sought for within that cave.
“Little Master, these little baby monsters couldn’t possibly take down all these monkeys by themselves.” Brock said from his side.
“I know.” Elliot spoke through the haze of bloodlust in his mind. “Our real foes are in that cave.”
Brock nodded in agreement and along with all the other beasts, started to follow Elliot quietly.
When they reached the entrance of the cave, the Primal Feline suddenly stopped. He looked around warily. A growing sense of impending doom had fallen upon him lightly.
There was a new enemy.
It was still a distance away, but it was coming his way. He was sure of it.
His sixth sense tingled and his instincts began to tell him that he would not be able to deal with the new threat. The enemies within the cave would give him a good and vigorous fight. But only certain death awaited him if he chose to fight the new one.
“It must be the Armored Kaijin Matriarch.” Elliot thought through the haze of bloodlust and summoned a memory of the time he saw the Matriarch in his previous life. Taller than a two story building, bristling with sharp spikes and blades and claws, it was the epitome of death.
The Primal Feline growled lightly and exploded forth in a burst of speed as he rushed into the cave.
“If there’s a strong enemy coming, then I’ll just have to kill these ones faster and escape before the strong one arrives!” The Primal Feline’s thought was rather simple and direct.
“The adult Armored Kaijins must be in there fighting with the Great Sage.” Elliot realised as his sharp hearing picked up faint sounds of battle from deep within the cave. “I need to hurry if I want to save the Great Sage and tame him!”
Deeper and deeper he went into the vast cave system. Along the way, he passed several more dead monkeys. Well, specifically, dead monkey PIECES. None of the dead monkeys were intact. They looked as though they were ripped apart by overwhelming strength.
The Primal Feline grew more excited when he saw the horrible way the monkeys died.. The attackers were extremely powerful. And the more powerful they were, the more pleasure he would have killing them!
