Spending My Retirement In A Game

Chapter 737 - Gigantification

Eisen laid down in the bed covered by Kirisho's mist. For one, this would simply obscure Eisen further. Would allow him to get away by shrinking down instantly, without any intruder able to spot him. But it also had another benefit.

One of Kirisho's abilities was a sort of 'Domain', technically similar to what Eisen's Demonic Domain was, that she could establish. A domain where she was a lot more powerful for a certain period of time. This ability had an extremely long cooldown, so it wasn't viable to just use it whenever one wanted to. However, it seemed like this was a point at which she felt it was useful, for more than just one reason.

The fact that it produced a lot of mist with similar substance as the mist her body was made of, so that she could cover the whole bed. Also that it blocked any sound from coming in, and any sound from going out. The same was the case for visuals, of course. Nobody could see what was going on inside there.

And if Kirisho didn't want them to, they couldn't really enter this place either. So it was kind of clear what this was for now.

Eisen took off his Suit Jacket, shoes, vest, shirt and pants. He laid down in the bed inside of the mist, in just his underwear. But what he saw when he was inside wasn't just the mist in front of his eyes. Rather, it was a beautiful scenery, as if Eisen was laying outside in a field at night, simply stargazing. This was also another thing that Kirisho could do through her version of a 'Domain'. She could make the world seem like it was anything she wanted it to be.

Of course, even in this world, Eisen was still giant, that didn't really change. He was also still in his true demonic form. However, there was one key difference here that was rather important to Eisen. There was a person that laid down next to him, resting her head on the old man's chest as they both looked into the sky.

It was Kirisho. A tangible version of herself, not just an illusion like the world currently around Eisen. Seemingly another benefiot of this ability. Within this domain, Kirisho had total control over her own body. Doing something like turning herself into a giant was barely an issue. And as such, in this domain, even when Eisen was a giant, the form he weirdly felt the most comfortable in, the two could be together like this.

Eisen laid there and wrapped his arm around the woman next to him, "Thanks for doing this." He said, but Kirisho simply shook her head, "It's nothing to thank me for. I get something out of this as well, after all." She replied in a medolic voice.

"I guess you do." Eisen chuckled quietly, rubbing his hand over the woman's arm, "Listen, there's something I meant to talk to you about. But I guess I really didn't have the chance to do so recently."

"Your tone sounds serious. Is something wrong?" Kirisho replied. Eisen, without hesitation, shook his head, "Nothing is wrong. I just wanted to ask about the future, you see? I'm slowly recovering my memories bit by bit. Returning to the type of person that I used to be. I don't want to, but I can already tell that it's happening."

"This conversation again? Eisen, I told you many times before, no matter who you are and will become, my feelings for you will not wane." Kirisho explained, and Eisen looked down at her, "Don't worry, that's not where I was going with this. I'm learning new things. Information that comes at a pace that may drive many crazy. That might drive me crazy. But more importantly, once I remembered everything, there are a few things that I'll have to do. I have to make sure I protect that other world from Samuel. And of course those that my actions pulled into harm's way over here. And after that, after everything has been settled… I guess you could say that I'll come by a bit of free time."

"I guess you could say that, yes. So what do you plan on doing after saving the world, oh great hero?" Kirisho asked cheekily, and Eisen looked down and locked eyes with her, "You know that I'm an old man."

"Oh really? I barely noticed."

"Just let me finish, will you?" Eisen smirked, "People my age… Or rather, people that have officially earned the title of 'old' like me, often like to travel. I think I would love to see this world. I don't doubt that I've seen every nook and cranny a few times over by now, but not 'me'. I may remember it, but I haven't lived it. Not the Eisen that just came to this world a few months ago, at least. And I don't think you've seen much of the world yet either, have you?"

Kirisho lightly smiled at the old man, "You are inviting me to travel the world with you?"

"What else could I be doing?" Eisen replied. Kirisho looked up at Eisen, and lightly placed her hand onto his chest, "My heart is yours. Wherever you go, I go."

Kirisho shifted her body around, sliding up toward Eisen's face. The two gazed into each other's eyes, as Eisen smiled, "I take that means 'Yes'?"

In the morning, the mist faded away from Eisen's bed. He slowly stood up and walked toward the entrance of the mansion carved into the wall. The mannequin-golem walked onto his palm, and soon placed the individual pieces of his suit-armor fusion onto his hand. They quickly grew in size as Eisen put them back on, the Golem quickly disappearing in Eisen's item storage.

Eisen watched as all his guards and knights stepped back onto the platform, before Eisen reluctantly shrunk himself down and joined them. Askr picked the platform up and started to carry them outside. Of course, before they left, Eisen erased the enchantments on the walls so that nobody could complain that Eisen damaged the property or something like that.

Askr walked through the halls of this castle, and was soon accompanied by some guards that spotted him. They were obviously supposed to be at specific stations, but they had only been lazing around all over the place. In general, the security of this place was rather… relaxed. Giants were a race of free-minded folk. They didn't care what happened around them, were selfish, and basically acted on their impulses rather intensely. And it wasn't just the giants, of course, but the regular-sized people that grew up here seemed to be the same.

It was just how society worked here, apparently. That made Eisen feel even more surprised at how strictly the Grandour's daughter was following the task she had been given, and how the current Grandour seemed to be such a determined leader as well.

He didn't react to anything that Eisen said too rashly, and made careful choices that he thought to be the best for the current situation. The current Grandour was a good leader. Calm. Not as hot-headed as many Fire Giants often tend to be.

Askr brought Eisen and the others to the place where the fights would end up happening. Rather than an arena, it was more like some sort of huge hole in the ground that they took advantage of. That didn't mean that this was the first time this was used for fighting. There were clearly some residues of battle here. Pillars put up that people could hide behind, splinters of metal weapons thrown around that were forgotten. Footsteps trampling each othe deeper into the ground. The regular sort of thing that you would see in any arena of this kind.

And then, soon, they reached the place where the Grandour was seated. And a few steps away from him, a Giant's steps of course, was another seat, probably made for Eisen to sit on.

Of course, the old man quickly took the chance as he turned back into his giant form, greeting the Grandour.

"Good morning. A fine day for a few duels, isn't that right?" Eisen asked with a smile on his face. The Giant in front of him looked back with a light smirk on his own, "A fine day to find a living legend as well."

"Right you are." Eisen sat down on the seat offered to him, and soon looked down into the hole that would act as the arena, "So we're starting quite early, I see?"

"Of course we are. A good battle should last a day or two!" The Grandour exclaimed, a lot more energetic than he was yesterday when Eisen first met him, "Now, let me explain how this will happen to you, my dear guest. Ten fights. Each fight, one of my giants, against as many of your men as you want. It's just fair, isn't it? We Giants hold a lot more strength than those of your size. And we can't expect people to watch a fight that they won't even be able to see, can we?"

"Sure, that's true. But I wouldn't worry about their size. I have some solutions for that." Eisen said, glancing to the side at the people that would be fighting here today. In particular, he was glancing at the hips of each of those people, where a small bottle with a special liquid inside could be seen.

It was special in the sense that it would allow for an equal fight, but also in the sense that it couldn't be used quite often. Otherwise, Eisen would have had the others make use of this potion during the whole trip. It had a usage 'cooldown' of a full week, however, considering that it was a special potion that Eisen was barely able to create with his current skill in Alchemy.

It was a potion of Gigantification, that each of the fighters would drink to be able to match up to the Giants in front of them.

And of course, this was only a small part of the plan to prove to the Grandour that Eisen really was the first person in this world that peaked.

Soon, the people gathered around the edges of this arena, more than just interested in being able to watch this performance. This battle between two countries. Of course this was something for them to get excited about, naturally it was.

But on the other hand, nearly all of them were expecting Asgard to be absolutely crushed by the Giants. Their strength was at a whole other level, after all. But Eisen was more than just excited to see their expressions when they realized their side would not win a single duel today.
