Chapter 241 Queen's Lecture
Instead of going back to the dorm after the first course for blacksmithing finished, Kyle went into the second room in the basement.
He wanted to use the blacksmith library to refresh his knowledge and widen his horizon.
There were still a few things he could recollect from Gard’s teachings.
Nonetheless, it was better to keep studying, which was what Kyle had decided to do.
Thus, spending the next few hours in the blacksmith library until the next blacksmith class would begin, he focused his mind on the books that were about various items and their special properties.
His memory was quite decent and allowed him to remember quite a few pieces of information during the following course.
This was quite helpful, giving Kyle the motivation to spend the following three days in the blacksmith mansion, to keep studying in the free time between the different blacksmithing classes.
The girls wondered what he was doing these days because he couldn’t even be found in the dorm.
And hearing that his roommates had never met Kyle, to begin with, Beatrice and the others could only smile wryly.
“Just what is he doing? I thought he would try to socialize and build some connections in the Glory Knight academy… Is he still trying to achieve everything on his own?” Yasmine wondered, feeling a little bit confused.
However, Selene just shook her head, who had a different opinion.
“If he is still the same as before, Kyle has a plan in mind. I think he’ll be giving his best to not be a burden on anyone first.
And he was never really good at socializing. The fact that he is an Old Soul seems to bother him a lot.”
After saying this, she shrugged her shoulders, not sure if that was it.
Yet, upon hearing Selene’s words, Beatrice could only nod her head and reply,
“I understand what you mean with ‘not being a burden’…I’m much older than all of you, yet I ended up being dependent on Kyle…and I know that my version of common sense is…rather weird as well.
And he once told me that he thinks Old Souls are constantly in trouble because Shima challenges them. Being existences that are not even supposed to exist anymore, Old Souls seem to be rejected by Shima, in a certain sense.
Or maybe that’s just to make Old Souls grow up faster, but I have no idea…”
Each of the women had their own opinion of the given situation, which they shared with each other.
They might disagree on certain things but all of them cared about Kyle and wanted the best for him.
However, it was Kyle, who knew about his own ideas and thoughts best, and nobody else.
Thus, the three women could only try to think of the right answer, without actually knowing it.
With that in mind, they simply chose the most reassuring answer that Kyle wanted to be more powerful in various aspects to provide them with the best possible life.
Taking this into consideration, the three women decided not to become a burden on him as well.
Instead of bothering Kyle about where he was, and what he was doing, they decided to study instead so as to widen their knowledge, and keep advancing using their individual strength!
Three weeks passed in a blur, and their small group of four found themselves together once again.
In the last weeks, they had not met often, but this allowed each of them to grow stronger individually.
However, instead of sharing how much they had changed, and improved in terms of procured knowledge and so on, the four of them were quite relaxed as they huddled on the academy ground together.
“The Queen will hold a lecture in three days.” Selene suddenly said, breaking the silence and calm around them.
When Kyle heard this, he frowned before shrugging his shoulders.
He had not heard from her, since the day he had rejected the invitation the principal had forwarded to him in the name of the Queen.
Because of that, Kyle had hoped that he wouldn’t have to bother her again.
Kyle had even forgotten about the mutated Licara flower seed in the past few weeks.
It had just been a treasure that held no significant value to him or the people around him.
As such, he didn’t feel bad to have given it to the Queen at all.
But the value of the mutated Licara flower seed was much higher for the Queen and other people, which was why she didn’t digest the rejection well.
Nonetheless, due to a political turmoil caused by a chain of not-so-favorable events that happened one after another in the last few weeks, the Queen had been unable to try meeting him through some hidden channels.
‘To think that he was able to form a temporary truce between the three kingdoms and their alliances…not bad!’
Because she had received the report about every single event that had occurred during the Brawl, the Queen knew that Kyle was no less than a harbinger of several changes in the attitude of the rulers of the three kingdoms.
Forced to hold a meeting with all three races’ representatives owing to the promise they had given Kyle, many things were discussed at length.
And problems that were not even problems had been solved as well.
Somehow, it made the war between the three alliances seem like an utter waste as the three races began to understand that their strength was incomparable to the capabilities of other kingdoms.
The Aeroa race was much better in terms of mana and elemental control as it was the case for the Aldra race.
Their environment was also better in terms of nourishment and purity of energies, which was something the three alliances were incapable of changing just like that.
However, that was not the crux of the matter, and the more important fact was that the three alliances had ended their war in order to focus on rehabilitation and helping the ordinary citizens return to normalcy.
The mutated Licara flower was not something that they could procure, either way.
After all, the Master of Guild had claimed his right over it, ending the purpose of the war of the three alliances, to begin with.
This made it possible for a new era of peace to sweep through the territory of the three alliances.
But not everyone was calm because it was crystal clear that certain individuals loved anarchy and chaos.
A few beings were known for showing their interest in the resources of their own kingdoms, and that of others as well.
With that in mind, while maintaining the peace, everyone was trying to uproot the poisonous weeds that wanted to sow discord once again while simultaneously increasing the education funding!
‘Education fundings’ was also the proclaimed reason for the Queen to hold a lecture in three days.
These three days passed by quickly, and every single student of the Glory Knight academy found themselves in the open area of the academy’s lands.
A large stage had been constructed with a podium built in the center of it, and tens of thousand Lohars were now waiting in front of the stage for the Queen’s arrival.
Kyle saw many familiar faces, but there were also unfamiliar beings, whom he had never seen before.
They were the descendants of nobles and royalty that hailed from the Anadra kingdom.
During the last few weeks, he had seen a few other members of the special class, but until now he had had no contact with them.
p
There was no need for him to get to know anyone else right now.
Focusing on increasing his knowledge, attaining more strength, and learning as much as possible was of utmost importance right now.
Yet, when the Queen appeared behind the podium, she did not only attract everyone’s attention due to her majestic appearance but also because of the first words she uttered.
“Hello, my dear students. I hope everyone is doing fine in their studies. The Lahin kingdom is finally prospering and we will be able to enter a new era soon. The shackles that held me back from improving my cultivation will soon be destroyed as well.
And this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my benefactor and the support of the entire kingdom.
As such, as a means of gratitude, I have decided to open the Ancestor’s treasury for the first time in 500 years.
A batch of selected students from you all will be able to enter it!”
At first, Kyle had simply focused on the golden-furred Lohar, whose hair fluttered in the wind as she delivered her speech.
Yet, the more he listened to her, the bigger his confusion became.
Kyle understood that it seemed like the Queen was opening some sort of hidden treasure for her benefactor and the entire kingdom.
But upon clearly seeing the glances he received from the Queen, whose golden eyes seemed to pierce his soul every now and then, Kyle couldn’t help but feel a little bit bothered.
‘Is she trying to repay her debt by opening this ‘Ancestor’s treasury’?’ Kyle wondered.
However, what he didn’t know was that the Queen didn’t open the treasury for him, per se, but rather to allow the most prodigious talents of her kingdom’s newer generation to receive a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity.
“Is the Ancestor’s treasury some sort of special old treasury, or is it more like the Razkadan castle?” Kyle suddenly mumbled, only to realize that none of the women except Beatrice knew the Razkadan castle.
Thus, he quickly thought of ways to change his question.
But before Kyle could do so, Selene answered him already,
“The Ancestor’s treasury is said to be a different dimension that can only be opened by the Queen or King of the Lahin Kingdom.
In the end, it’s probably a treasure that can only be opened by one individual at a time, until it will be inherited by the next King or Queen.
Either way, the legends around the Ancestor’s treasury are quite intriguing, and it should be even better than the Razkadan castle!”
Selene seemed quite excited when she finished her short explanation, only to realize something as she added,
“No offense, Beatrice!!”
Kyle smiled faintly when he heard the words Selene suddenly added, and the others felt the same.
Having told Selene and Yasmine about the Razkadan castle, Beatrice knew that Selene meant no offense as the two women knew about it as well, or even better than Kyle.
As such Selene had subconsciously added that the Ancestor’s treasury should be better than Beatrice’s home, without even realizing it.
However, Beatrice was quite relaxed about this.
After all, the Razkadan castle had already collapsed, turning into nothing but ruins.
Selene was still a bit worried about what she had said, but Kyle didn’t focus on her anymore.
He was more interested in the fact that the Ancestor’s treasury seemed like a great opportunity to find a few more treasures.
It was not as if he was in a dire need of treasures, but the fact that the opportunity unveiled in front of him made it clear to him that he should grasp it if possible.
