Starting From the Dragon Tribe

Chapter 12: Finger von Frings

The campus of Cassell College was large. Unlike Lu Chen, Chu Zihang brought a lot of luggage with him, which was why Lutecia decided to get her car from the carpark nearby.

After rolling down the window, Lu Chen gazed at the view of the college.

The buildings were all designed in the medieval style. Doves were hovering above the cathedral in the distance. The summery breeze whisked across some girls by the lake and lifted their skirts.

As the bells in the campus started ringing out, Lu Chen fell into his own thoughts. This is the kind of college life I’ve never experienced before…

At that moment, the difference between the West and the East didn’t matter anymore. He was amazed by the campus atmosphere. It was as though he was brought into an intoxicating dream, and he wasn’t willing to awaken from it.

“That’s Valhalla, and that’s Odin’s Square…” While Lutecia was introducing the buildings to them, Lu Chen tried to memorize the places.

Meanwhile, Chu Zihang was staring fixedly at her hand, which was on the steering wheel. Even though she’s a mixed race human, it’s really dangerous that she’s pointing at the buildings while only controlling the steering wheel with one hand.

“Alright, we’ve reached our destination. Take a proper rest as the physical check will take place in two days, and the start of the school will be next week. You can call me anytime if you have any questions.” Having reached their hostel, Lutecia didn’t get out of the car because she didn’t stay there.

“Thanks, Lutecia.” Lu Chen and Chu Zihang spoke in unison, after which they stared at each other in surprise.

Lu Chen was grateful toward Lutecia because she had treated him to a meal. That was the best lunch he had ever had in his life.

“Bye.” Lutecia stepped on the gas pedal and left the place.

“Zihang, do you need help?” Lu Chen gazed at his luggage.

“It’s fine. Thanks. Let’s get in.” Chu Zihang rejected him. Even though the luggage appeared to be heavy, he was able to lift it with ease.

Lu Chen offered to help Chu Zihang because the latter had lent him a hand before, but he didn’t really mean to help him pick up the luggage. After they reached the third floor, they realized that they lived in opposite rooms. Upon trading glances, they turned around and opened the doors.

Immediately after Lu Chen opened the door, he caught a whiff of a foul smell. What smell is this?

The smell of pork hocks, expired fried food and sweat wafted from the room. It was as destructive as a biological weapon. Inside the dark room, the sound of keyboard tapping could be heard, and a man was cursing in German. It seemed that he was playing an online game. Food and trash scattered everywhere on the floor. Flower patterned boxers were lying on top of some meal boxes.

Is this my room? At that instant, Lu Chen thought he was hallucinating. Did someone cast a magic spell on me or something? But come to think of it, I’m a Mystic Warrior with strong spiritual power. I would have noticed it if anyone used a magic spell on me.

It was then the burly figure in the shadow noticed that someone had opened the door, so he turned around to look. Lu Chen was shocked to see that the man was naked.

“Are you a new student?” the man said in embarrassment. Then, he pulled down his shirt from the upper side of the bunk bed and covered his belly.

Lu Chen watched this weird man in silence. He had heard that either two people or four people would share the same room. There were also some mansions for the privileged. It meant that he would most likely have a roommate. However, he didn’t expect that his roommate would turn out to be such a sloppy creature.

“Let me introduce myself. I’m Finger Von Frings, from Class 1. My blood lineage is Grade E.” Upon finishing his words, Finger hurriedly put on his shirt. Since the room was messy, he couldn’t find his pants for the moment. Seeing that both of them were men, he covered his lower part with his underwear and approached Lu Chen before extending his hand, which was greasy.

After staring at him for a short moment, Lu Chen confirmed that the man before his eyes was a normal human who could also speak, so he decided not to attack him. However, he would rather die than touch his greasy hand.

“Hi, Finger… Is this really 303 Area 1?” Lu Chen asked. Perhaps I’ve entered the wrong room.

“I’m so sorry for the mess. I was the only one who lived here previously, so I didn’t bother to clean up the room.” Seeing that Lu Chen had no intention of shaking his hand, Finger withdrew his hand and scratched his head.

Gazing at the mess on the floor, Lu Chen thought that this place must be more terrible than hell. He had stepped on his enemies’ blood countless times before, but at this moment, he wouldn’t dare to move forward.

“I’m Lu Chen from Class 9. My blood lineage is estimated to be Grade A.” After a moment of hesitation, Lu Chen shuffled into the room and thought that he had to change to another room in the future. This was very different from the school life he had imagined. Even the temporary tents he had set up with his comrades on the battlefields were much cleaner than this.

“You are Grade A?” Finger’s eyes beamed with delight as he dashed forward. “That’s incredible!”

Lu Chen hurriedly ran away and pulled the curtains open. “What’s the big deal about Grade A?” Then, he recalled that Lutecia appeared to be envious when she saw that Chu Zihang and he were estimated to be Grade A.

“Hey, stop flattering yourself,” Finger lamented as he cleaned up the room. He decided to tidy up Lu Chen’s bed first so that the new student could have a place to sleep.

“What do you mean?” Lu Chen was puzzled.

“What’s the big deal about Grade A? You’re basically showing off,” Finger replied.

“I didn’t mean to show off. I’m not familiar with the history of the dragon race and the mixed race humans, so I don’t understand what these grades mean.” Lu Chen shook his head and reflected upon himself.

“Oh. So, you were discovered by the agents. No wonder. I’m sorry for misunderstanding you.” Finger finally understood why Lu Chen said so. “The grades for blood purity range from E to A. There’s also Grade S, but so far our chancellor is the only Grade S person who is still active in this campus. Hence, Grade A is practically the best grade for students.”

“I see. By the way, how many years do we have to stay in this college as students?” Lu Chen asked the most important question, for he knew that he wouldn’t stay in this world for too long. It seemed that he would be able to learn a lot of fun stuff in this college, but if the duration of the course was too long, he might not be able to learn the best stuff.

He had always known that no teacher would teach their students the best skills in the beginning. It was the same for any college, so he would only be able to learn the finest skills in his final years. That was why he felt worried when he heard that Finger was from Class 1. Does it mean that he has stayed in this college for seven years?
