Starting From the Dragon Tribe

Chapter 4: Gotcha

The horror movie being shown was reaching the climax. The projector in the theater seemed to be dysfunctional as the screen kept flickering. Nevertheless, it added a layer of terror to the atmosphere.

Most people don’t love to watch a horror movie in a theater. There were seven rows of seats in total, but only five people, including Lu Chen, were in the theater. The dark space was faintly illuminated by the screen as the light flickered. Even if one didn’t pay full attention to the movie, the atmosphere in this theater alone was horrifying enough.

Something seemed to be lurking in the dark. Lu Chen couldn’t find it, and the people in front of him didn’t bother to take note.

“Ah!” In the movie, the female lead came across the serial killer right after she opened the door. As she screamed, the killer slashed at her shoulder with a pair of scissors. Covering her shoulder, the female lead turned around and ran away.

Some people couldn’t move their eyes away from the screen. Some people closed their eyes in fright. There was also someone who leaned against the chair and couldn’t wake up again.

Lu Chen frowned upon seeing that as he had witnessed the entire process. Before the woman’s death, a ghost was floating beside her as it slashed at her neck. At the same time, her mouth was covered with a pair of hands, so she wasn’t able to make any noise.

“Ah!” The female lead in the movie yelled again. As the female lead, she wouldn’t die before the film ended. However, death had descended upon those who were watching the movie.

Another man’s throat was slashed in silence. His girlfriend, who had wrapped her arm around his arm in fright, didn’t even notice it. As his blood dripped onto her ears, she simply thought that her boyfriend was crying out of fear.

Just when she was about to tease her boyfriend to ease the horrifying atmosphere, she realized that her mouth was covered by someone. What terrified her most was that there was no one in front of her. In just a short moment, blood spurted out of her neck.

Lu Chen widened his eyes and finally saw something. The creature wasn’t totally invisible. Through the flickering of the light, he could see a dark smog moving in the air. In this dark environment, it was practically invisible.

Now, besides Lu Chen, there was only one man in the first row. Lu Chen decided to inform him about it.

Judging from the information he read just now, they seemed to be in a small town in Vietnam. Since they were both Asians, he thought he should save him. Furthermore, he had figured out the technique used by the mixed race creature to kill people.

“Hey,” Lu Chen uttered.

The next moment, that man covered his neck and fell to the ground. At the same time, a hunched man in a yellowish singlet appeared before Lu Chen’s eyes. He licked away the blood on the dagger, as though it was the most delicious liquid in the world.

That hunched man took a look at Lu Chen as his eyes beamed with a golden glint in the dark. Following that, he spoke in broken Mandarin. “I always save the best bit for last. I heard that you’re the owner of a martial arts center nearby.” Upon finishing his words, he disappeared into the dark again.

“Why did you kill them?” Lu Chen thought that the mixed race creature should be some kind of monster, but he didn’t expect that it turned out to be a human who could also communicate with him.

He was a Mystic Warrior and a soldier who could destroy his enemies on the battlefield without blinking his eyes. However, he could never bring himself to kill the civilians, so he couldn’t understand why the man would do such a thing. Is he doing this for his own enjoyment?

“Hahaha.” The man’s laugh sounded as disgusting as mice in the gutter. He kept moving around so that Lu Chen couldn’t catch him. “I don’t know why either. It just feels good to kill people.”

The man appeared again with a woman’s head in his hand. He licked from the woman’s neck up to her forehead. During the entire process, he kept staring at Lu Chen from the corner of his eyes.

Upon seeing that Lu Chen didn’t have golden irises, he set his mind at ease, but at the same time, he felt disappointed. He was a powerful man, so it wasn’t fun for him to kill those weak people.

Upon learning that there was an owner of a martial arts center in the theater, he decided to come over to have a look. The four people he killed moments ago were just his appetizer.

He had noticed early on that the young man was aware of his existence as the latter kept looking for him. He didn’t stop killing, and he didn’t attempt to end the young man’s life. The excitement that came with the young man’s stare as he killed people caused him to have a hard-on until this point. His intention was to kill all these people in front of the young man to push him over the edge before he slashed at his throat and drank his blood.

“You feel good about it?” Lu Chen snorted.

“You don’t seem to be afraid of me.” The man’s voice sounded angry as he felt he was looked down upon.

After his mutation, he gained a lot of strength. Even though his back was still hunched, he was now able to lift a truck with ease. The dragon blood in him had helped him transform into an entire new person and allowed him to discover things he didn’t know he’d enjoy in the past.

Even though the young man before his eyes was a martial artist from China, he was an ordinary man after all. Therefore, killing him should be as easy as killing an ant. Furthermore, he was now practically invisible, so the young man couldn’t possibly see him.

Feeling bored, he decided to enjoy his meal now. He had to relocate to another place after this. Otherwise, he might catch the attention of other mixed race creatures.

Just when he approached the young man and raised his hand, he was shocked to see that the latter was able to grab his wrist. The dagger was right at the level of the young man’s neck, but he couldn’t push it forward. Why is he so powerful? I can’t even struggle out of his grip!

Just then, Lu Chen cocked his head and flashed his white teeth at the hunched man. At that moment, he seemed to be the king of hell who was there to end the hunched man’s life. “Gotcha.”

Lu Chen beamed at the hunched man. His tone was that of a young kid catching his friends during hide-and-seek. However, the hunched man couldn’t help feeling terrified.

Gazing at the man with a superpower, Lu Chen felt disappointed. It was indeed useful to be able to turn invisible, but the user of the skill was too weak.

“You think killing people feels good to you, right? I’ll let you have a taste of your own medicine, then.” Grabbing the hunched man’s wrist, Lu Chen pushed the dagger forward.

The man wanted to extend his left hand, but Lu Chen managed to grasp his arm and broke his bones quickly. At the same time, he used the leg sweep technique, causing the man to lose his balance. Following that, he pressed the man against the wall as he pushed the dagger toward his neck.

The hunched man struggled violently as his eyes turned bloodshot. His already hideous-looking face appeared to be even more terrifying.

At that moment, the movie on the screen was nearing its end. In despair, the female lead was dragged into the darkness by the serial killer as she shrieked.
