Stuck As A Dungeon Mob

Chapter 379 - Blood Integration

The situation was a stalemate, or so W would like to believe but…

“Damn things!” Eon said pushing a bunch of jars off a table and into a void in space. W could only assume he would store everything in that room until he and W were completely eradicated.

“Die!” A tiny red Bloody was revealed and instantly eradicated by a small spatial collapse which was a bad descriptor for something that used collapse. Everything in a small radius of the immediate vicinity seemed to have been sucked in and erased into nothings. W couldn’t help but feel frightened.

‘Hey’ With no other option, W decided to stall for time. He sent a transmission into Eon’s mind which caused the old man to instinctively stop his actions. He could still vividly remember the transmitted voice of the creature that cost him a lot of his lifespan.

But truthfully he didn’t resent the thing for that. It was a natural course for he and the creature to duke it out. What was bothering Eon was the fact that no matter how deep into the dungeon he went, the creature would follow. Who knew, maybe it was already waiting?

“Hahaahaha- Cough Argh! Cough!” Eon wanted to laugh but he only ended up spitting a mouthful of blood. That resulted in him forming a self-deprecating wide grin while still continuing to be consumed by laughter.

“It comes back to you!” Everything about that dungeon came back to that annoying creature. Eon didn’t know if they were exact clones of it, a hive mind, or just a thing that constantly swapped bodies but the fact that it appeared to be immortal and almost omnipresent… it was the dream he had yet to achieve! No, the dream he couldn’t achieve! Jealousy! Eon felt jealous!

W who was on the receiving End of this sudden breakdown couldn’t help but feel conflicted. All he did was say hey and he was being attacked for that?

‘I have no idea what you are talking about’ W transmitted. He was being purposefully vague hoping to probe for something, anything.

All of a sudden, Eon’s staff was pointed towards a deck.

“Even if you will be coming back, die for now” Eon said before shooting off a blast of mana towards a desk.

The thing broke into tiny pieces but more importantly, it was like shrapnel that killed all the small Bloody’s hiding behind or under it.

This wasn’t the only furniture to suffer, soon a table, a chair, a shelf. Everything and anything that was in the room was being destroyed at a rapid pace. Few Bloody parts survived.

‘Hide under the debris!’ W transmitted to Bloody who understood the message and had its small selves spread out and hide under small debris.

“Hmph!” But Eon looked down on this action. He cast a new spell that W felt was unfamiliar and suddenly, a square of land disappeared on the floor. That included the wooden debris that lay atop it.

Eon coughed out a mouthful of blood in response but his expression suggested he didn’t care at all. A man without anything to lose. That was the impression W was currently getting from the sage of space.

‘It’s almost pitiful’ How could someone called a sage be so pathetic? Would a sage not live luxuriously on the outside? It was bizarre. W could not understand Eon’s motivation. It likely had to do with his sickness but…

Was it worth it? To risk one’s life for the mere possibility to live one more year? To expend your time and energy that could be spent meaningfully, gleefully, or just calmly elsewhere?

W could not answer these questions. There was always the possibility that he took what he had for granted, but something told him the answer was no. It wasn’t worth it.

Yet, Eon continued to destroy furniture and create debris. Bloody could try and hide under it but the bits would be swept apart by space. W had also lost fragmented pieces of itself.

But as Eon continued to break things apart, a pattern arose. There was one thing that Eon was not breaking.

‘Bloody! Charge out!’ W’s words were vague but his intent was clear. Bloody seemed to also think this was a good idea.

The red blob skidded along the ground that was a mix of different elevations thanks to the constant spatial attacks.

A small wave of red started to appear from around the hut. All the items Eon brought and added into this lizardmen hut were enough to hide many parts. The sparse red tide all converged and climbed up onto the table where a sickly man lay.

“You-!” Eon who was going to blast Bloody to bits was unable to the moment Bloody stood atop Brennan Bosque. To make it worse, Bloody then entered Brennan’s body!

‘He can’t hurt us in here!’ Everything was dark but Bloody and W quickly entered through the throat and somehow managed to disperse into different parts of the body. That included the unfortunate few that entered the stomach acid.

Unfortunately, Bloody only had one eye. These different parts of W were all working from the same feed. It was already a miracle that W got the part carrying its sight in there, Though to be fair when Ed was making mushrooms and the like he wasn’t working on a large scale.

‘There is only one way to see now’ It was to replace one of the eyes of the man they just entered or… to connect with him! ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

“Do you think I won’t kill him?” Eon inquired audibly. The two inside of Brennan could not hear him, however. W certainly couldn’t read lips or gestures from inside a human body.

But while they couldn’t hear him, they didn’t need to. Eon was not going to kill Brennan Bosque.

The sage of space had many regrets at this point. He hated to admit it but, the Bosque king had become a close acquaintance. Why else would he fight against the assassin? Because it was the right thing to do?

Eon did not abide by his morals. He had kidnapped this close acquaintance of him but it was worth considering that the young regent prince was actively neglecting his father. Brennan’s days as king had been counted and it was only a matter of time until he was forced to hand over the crown or a coup was formed.

Surprisingly, neither of these happened. The more radical approach of hiring an A-class assassin was taken. As Eon was wise, he could easily see through this much. Brennan was never going to get better if the prince had things go his way.

Kidnapping the king was done out of selfish motives, but these motives were born out of a wish for company. Brennan was going to be his guinea pig, but Eon would be lying if he said he didn’t wish to see the experiments he would have him partake in succeed.

Eon had lifted his hand and aimed at the body of the skin and bones formally named Brennan Bosque. But all his wand could do was quiver along his trembling arms.

Bloody and W were now inside this close acquaintance and a part of Eon secretly wished this was beneficial to him. So one could easily imagine the pleasant surprise that it was to see the king’s hand twitch.

Not just that, but his eyes which had contained a dull look blinked dryly. The face of the man was also regaining color though it seemed to hold a red tint.

“Is- Is he healing?” Eon asked himself audibly. Was this the key to healing? Swallowing the weird creature?

Brennan’s heart started to beat more rapidly and the veins which looked like a dried-out river now welcomed a deluge.

“GASP!” The man’s chest heaved up from a great gasp as if they would sit up that very moment but their body was languid and remained still.

“Brennan?” Eon asked with his wand still aimed at the body personage.

“E- Eon?” The voice of the king asked back.

“AAAARGH!” That was before suddenly feeling an intense bout of pain. His stomach was cramping from starvation and his thirst ran deeper beyond a mere desire for water. It was a life or death need!

His body which had been magically put into a state of coma had somehow managed to shut off all functions and remain living. Initially, it could be attributed to the constant healing of magicians in the royal palace but now the only explanation was Eon’s storage space.

Which speaking of, Eon brought out some jerky and water from it and wanted to feed it to Brennan but he quickly noticed something odd. Brennan’s eyes kept wandering.

‘These eyes are being tough’ What was happening in Brennan’s body was a miracle, to say the least, but part of integrating was to combine with to become a whole.

Bloody and W both tried to use blood integration to link up with Brennan’s body and allowed visage through the latter’s eyes. The result was that the illnesses were also integrated into Bloody’s body and the function of the body resumed.

Parts of Bloody were still coursing through Brennan’s blood, however. Fortunately, the toxicity in them did not kill Brennan.

Currently, W and Bloody were both fighting for the eyeballs.

‘Just let me control them!’ While they could share the vision, it wasn’t the same to control where they would be looking.

The thing was W and Bloody were both unaware that Brennan had been woken up by their actions. Not at least until his pained shriek sent vibrations throughout the interior of the dark body.

‘Eh?’ In a momentary loss of focus, W allowed Blood to integrate the eyeballs and the viewpoint of a person now appeared.

“Can you see?” Eon asked. Bloody and W couldn’t hear however so who was Eon speaking to?

It was only after food properly entered Brennan’s body that he seemed to notice this great issue.

“Aaah! I- I cant!” Brennan replied paranoid. He couldn’t move his body but that was because he had been bedridden.. What about now? The eyes were a delicate organ, Brennan was fearing that he would never see again.
