Chapter 454 - Running From The Problem
Bright red-orange sparks flew with the wind buffeting a hooded person. They didn’t mind it however as they were being soaked by the sudden heavy rain.
This person tried their best to escape and run past falling debris. They also tried their best to ignore the wailing cries of the suffering as they skipped around and about the now scorching Pith.
“GO BACK!!! HELP THEM!!!” The man shouted angrily as they continued their capital escape.
“Can’t you hear the cries of the dying!?!” The man seemed to be in an internal struggle. They would scream and shout and let it all out but their body did not respond accordingly.
The body wouldn’t listen.
‘…Bloody, you can not- You can’t convince me!’ W transmitted angrily.
The Blood clot was hungry for the blood of the fallen. Blood was there for the taking but W did not want to turn back!
The moment he saw the dragon approaching the capital from his guest room, W knew they weren’t its match. The sixth sense skill also confirmed it. The speck in the sky had turned a fiery red color. Without further ado, he took control over the body of Brennan and headed for the library.
Without the leisure to pick and choose, he grabbed ones with broad titles and made a run for it. As W had no system space, he could only grab a handful. From there, he snuck out of the palace and found the nearest store from which he stole a robe.
With the impending disaster, no one was running businesses. They would run home or stay frozen in fear. He stuffed the books into his robe and hightailed it.
Having done all this, turning back so Bloody could have some blood was not worth it! The flames that burned the people to a crisp were not any nicer to the body of Brennan. They were at risk of death in the capital, a dragon was not within the calculations!
‘How the hell were they going to lure this thing anywhere!?!’ W did not know what made the people of Bosque dumb enough to even suggest taking the dragon to the dungeon.
“GO BACK! WE CAN’T LET THOSE BASTARDS LIVE!” There would be people in armor ransacking and burning what was not already in cinders. W ran past these people too.
They didn’t give chase, they laughed and went over to kill their next civilian. While there were some northerners who exercised decency and restraint, the majority were monsters.
“FINE! FINE! I HAVE A MONSTER-” The crazed hooded man suddenly halted in his screaming. He was forcefully removed from mouth duty. Brennan Bosque was left with nothing but hearing in one ear.
“You have nothing” W told Brennan in a hardly audible voice.
Yet Brennan heard the message loud and clear. It rang inside his mind forcing him to a realization that he… he had nothing, not even his own body.
Brennan was regretful. But this regret came and went like the wind, the regret was replaced with determination. He was determined to reclaim his body!
The king tried to turn this emotion into power, he did so with all his might. Nonetheless, his struggle was in vain. The reality was that Bloody’s blood magic skills were beyond what Brennan’s wills could muster and undo.
To the luck of the king however, all of a sudden, Bloody became of the same opinion.
Brennan’s movement halted.
‘Bloody… what are you doing?’ W transmitted with a hint of anger. They had already run quite a distance from the palace. But Bloody still wanted to turn back? This time he even attempted a forceful take over!
“Asdbaknsd” Weird noises came out as Bloody tried to claim control over the mouth of the body. W was shocked but also angered. Bloody was trying to claim what he already took claim over! More importantly, he was ignoring the command of Ed!
‘Bloody! This isn’t the time for an internal struggle’ The fires were still very much active even as the rain continued to pour down on the ashen earth.
“Urgh” A blinding flash of white light emitted from the clouds.
“ROOAR!!!” An angered roar rang true around the capital overpowering the eardrums of everyone in the vicinity.
“You are inhuman!” The voice of a man roared. The words were clearly not geared towards the dragon but the young boy who hung around it.
As for who the human was…
[Human]
This small dot that flew thanks to the aid of the turbid wind was Samuel Oakley. Of course, W’s assessment didn’t corroborate this but the latter simply knew this personally based on his powers and skills.
The dragon which had landed at the palace suddenly shot up. It sprayed out blinding flames towards Samuel Oakley. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
As the scarlet flames incinerated the clothing on Samuel’s body, unexpectedly, a streak of red blood poured down on the ground beneath them.
Bloody became restless once more. That was the blood of a dragon! This helped W understand why Bloody acted as it had.
‘It’s still too risky!’ The two powerhouses were fighting but it was still too risky!
But Bloody was not giving up. The body of Brennan became chaotic as red blobs of the same nature but different ideologies fought one another.
As they fought, both Bloody and W were able to witness the fantastic battle between both entities. Not just that, but W formed a question. How?
Samuel was not at this level the last time he saw him! How did this happen!?
This gave W some hidden unease. Not only had he failed to get the knowledge he desired thanks to the unintentional stalling of Brennan, but he was going to dismiss an opportunity to strengthen himself even after seeing one of his enemies’ substantial power up.
W closed his eye for a moment. He pondered silently before quickly turning Brennan around. There was no better choice to make!
W didn’t know how Samuel got this strong but he did know that a similar opportunity lay in the blood spilled in the ongoing battle.

Sometime earlier, Samuel Oakley was still dashing through the skies. As he did so, he also tried to wrestle the potion box out of its cage.
“It’ll be too late to open you later, come on!” Samuel had to drink the potion on his way over. Especially since he didn’t know what the side effects of chugging the entire bottle might be.
The wrestling intensified as he drew nearer and nearer to the capital of Bosque. Still, the cage never budged. Samuel figured he wasn’t trying hard enough.
He quickly dropped to the ground. There were trees as far as the eye could see. Bosque was filled with such forests. The wind Samuel kicked upon his descent caused the branches of many to fall, however.
He quickly placed the box on the ground and unsheathed his sword. He focused on the box for a brief moment before breaking into a spin. His sword created drafts of air and a tornado of wind seemed to have formed.
“Hah!” Samuel let go of the tornado and the potion box disappeared into the raging winds. Needless to say, Samuel was not worried about spilling anything anymore. He only cared to hurry!
To his delight, the potion cage was opened up and although the potion box was affected, the glass which was visible from outside only formed some small cracks.
Without further ado, Samuel tore the box and opened the glass bottle’s lid. He chugged down the potion, the taste was horrible but he persisted.
After gulping down the potion. Samuel wiped his mouth and took off into the air. He continued his previous trajectory towards the capital.
“Aaargh!” As he did so, his body suffered crushing pain. Samuel winced visibly and audibly, if the potion was good the pain would be worth it!
The situation did not seem to intend to develop in that direction, however. Samuel’s pain was starting to overpower his senses. There was a throbbing in Samuel’s veins and he seemed to be breathing in fire.
All of these sensory details fazed out of his mind the moment he spotted the distant capital, however. It had turned dark but the capital was still resplendent. The entire city had been set ablaze!
Samuel’s heart skipped a beat and his steps became lighter. His figure shot forward and as the growing pains finally started to stop, Samuel felt stronger than ever before. It was a feeling that came from within.
With no qualms about physical strength, Samuel could take his speed up a notch. Samuel’s bare body seemed to cause a sonic boom as sound waves hit the ground shaking the earth and trees.
His figure left behind a trace in the sky as clouds were pushed away and molded into new forms.
The nighttime capital which had looked so distant was now closer. Samuel’s eyes were wide open even as his speed accelerated. This helped him greatly as he quickly spotted his target.
Fire dragon.
Samuel’s sword seemed to magically come out on its own and point towards the dragon. The duo of man and sword collided with the tough dragon scales. The unbelievable momentum of the strike caused the fire dragon’s scales to be pierced through like paper by Samuel’s sword.
“ROOOAR!!!” The fire dragon was not happy,
Samuel who had just crash-landed onto a dragon was also not happy. His body was hurt everywhere thanks to his recklessness. Still, in the end, he just made a dent on the dragon’s armor like scale. The trade-off was not worth it.
The maddened dragon let out another roar before blasting out a torrent of flames towards Samuel who still clung to his body by the hilt of his blade. The flames covered the body of Samuel and singed him all over but he didn’t yield.
Samuel pulled out his blade and then made a swinging motion as he fell.
The flames were cut past and so was the top of the dragon head were the young man stood. A blood-red streak formed and rained down on the people of the Bosque palace. Mite Volcan side stepped in time but he was awed by the strength behind the swing.
Samuel whose clothes had been burnt by taking the flames quickly inspected his body.. The pain from the burns was already subsiding.
