Stuck As A Dungeon Mob

Chapter 80 - Entering The Gate

“We will wait here for an hour or until everyone has fully recovered.” Said Samuel not letting Eon hijack his operation.

His previous words made him untrustworthy and more importantly he was responsible for the lives of those here. He couldn’t hand them over to others so willy nilly.

Eon only smiled in response. He then glanced around the room looking for somewhere to rest. Once he did, the rest of them also settled down and waited.

And wait they did, the creepy dungeon didn’t help anyone feel at ease. Not only that but following Eon’s inclusion many of the adventurers had tense or nervous expressions afraid to offend him. Some others were simply thinking of ways to curry his favor while others were still worried about the monstrous boss they would soon face.

The hour passed and everyone was ready to go, which included Felix whose face now wore a lifeless expression. Although his physical body had been healed, his mind wasn’t currently in the right place.

“Felix, stay behind.” It was of course Samuel who came up with this suggestion. Felix was clearly not in a state to battle anything much less a boss.

“I am fine, let’s keep on going” Felix who was looking at the ground dazed a couple of seconds ago looked up with a vibrant expression, he also got up from the ground readying to set off,

“I didn’t ask.” Samuel said seriously. Felix’s disrespect of him was far too much. If he followed Samuel’s instructions then he wouldn’t have gotten so gravely injured and they also wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Felix momentarily paused not expecting such a firm answer. He almost forgot to answer back in protest.

“I came here to defeat this dungeon and so did everybody else!” Felix said matter of factly.

“Our purpose is to scout out the progress and to do that we don’t have to go in there” Samuel said pointing at the gate.

The only reason why they were still going through with it after feeling such a thick murderous intent was that Eon just so happened to appear. It was also due to the new sense of urgency that Samuel now felt. Still, were it not for Eon’s presence he wouldn’t continue on since the casualties wouldn’t be worth the cost.

Another reason to leave Felix behind was that his father Duke Flamewood would definitely catch wind of Felix’s disappearance and know exactly where to find him. When that time came he couldn’t possibly hand him over a corpse, could he?

Eon who was sitting at the back observed the argument for a bit before finally putting in his own two cents.

“The young man not only seems capable, but he is also an adult, he should be responsible for himself.” Felix’s age of 17 was enough to be considered an adult in the bosque kingdom meaning that Eon’s words made sense.

Drake also offered some words seeing the wise sage butt in.

“I said I would take care of him didn’t I?” His words weren’t kindly received, Samuel couldn’t help but let out words of retort hearing this.

“You’ve done a great job so far too” Samuel’s words were obvious sarcasm so Drake couldn’t help but frown slightly. He was used to acting by himself or with people of similar skill so he forgot to be more cautious.

The argument went on for another minute but Samuel eventually relented. The only way to make Felix listen to him would be to give him a beating but Samuel wasn’t the type to do such things. Although he was definitely tempted. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

“Let’s go” Those were the words of Eon who took the initiative in Samuel’s stead.

“…Alright” Samuel replied in resignation. He had no problem letting Eon take the brunt of the attacks during the battle since he was obviously very capable.

Eon neared the gigantic and imposing gate and reached out with one hand. The thick killing intent it transmitted was nothing shock worthy to Eon so he simply pushed it open.

The large gates opened up without a hitch revealing the grand space of the boss room already illuminated and ready for battle. In the center of said room laid a stone throne. The engravings on it weren’t anything impressive.

What really caught one’s eye however wasn’t the plain throne but rather the figure sitting on top of it. It was a skeleton that done an extravagant green suit of armor. While the materials seemed to be indecipherable from a distance the sleek design suggested that it was at the least crafted by an expert craftsman.

The skeleton also held a sharp sword that had a similar sleek design and was green in color. The engravings on its hilt seemed to be some sort of family crest. Although they couldn’t really tell from their distance. More importantly…

“Muahaha! So these are the first fools I’ll get to face in a long time. I look forward to it.” The skeleton that was casually sitting down on its throne moved for the first time. It confidently stood up from the plain throne signaling that it wasn’t some sort of statue.

Eon and the others had at this point all entered the room and the door shut behind them.

Samuel who stood next to Eon had a grim expression after hearing the skeleton’s words. Could it perhaps be that by defeating the lich he had summoned a worst beast?

At this time Samuel remembered the lich’s final words. It had said that its sacrifice would not be in vain, was this what it meant?

But this wasn’t the time to think about such useless things.

“Magicians, try to debuff it and cast some long-range spells. Warriors, with me.” He didn’t bother addressing Clarys as she had shown to be more than capable of making her own decisions on how to heal them and support the team.

Before Samuel could begin his assault however, Eon who was next to him cast a spell that surrounded the undead warrior. It was a barrier that proceeded to quickly close around the imposing green figure.

The boss didn’t seem fazed by this however as it gripped the sword it held with both hands and in a single fluid motion broke apart the barrier. The strike was extremely swift yet powerful showcasing the Boss’s abilities as a swordsman.

Samuel’s expression visibly distorted as even Eon seemed to be incapable of caging this beast.

Noticing this, Eon laughed.

“That was just a test, let’s start the real fight..” Eon’s daring words seemed to put a smile on the skeleton’s face which was inconceivable given that it was dead.
