Chapter 915 - Furball goes missing!

Chapter 915: Furball goes missing!

Xia Fei was flabbergasted. The so-called Eye of the Cosmos was actually an empty region left behind when the Ark exploded, and to his even greater delight, Radix, who had a major connection to the Ark, had recovered some of his memories because of his return to this familiar place!

This was simply far too important!

Xia Fei had always wanted to find out what the connection was between the Ark, the Cosmic Gate, the Inverse, the Dark lifeforms, and the Law Realm. The recovery of Radix’s memories would be a huge boon to Xia Fei in this effort and help him clear up these complicated channels.

Radix appeared to be in great pain as he pointed at the distant empty region. “It’s over there. The Ark produced a fiery explosion. An enormously powerful ship and everything in the surroundings were swept away by that explosion.”

*Whoosh~*

Xia Fei reached the center of the Eye of the Cosmos in the blink of an eye.

It was a dark and empty place. That cosmos-shaking explosion had destroyed everything in this region of space, leaving behind only little motes of dust.

This dust contained the remnant matter of the Ark, and though it could not be seen with the naked eye, it contained a considerable amount of energy. This kind of dust drifted throughout this region of space.

“Ugh!”

Radix covered his head and groaned. His projection in Xia Fei’s brain region began to flicker, which made Xia Fei feel very uneasy, but he did not know what was happening.

“This is truly an inauspicious place. The mental state became unstable the moment I arrived,” Radix focused his mind and muttered.

“It’s probably because you have many painful memories connected to this place. After all, the Ark, which was so important to you, blew up here,” Xia Fei soothed Radix. He then changed the topic and asked. “Since the Ark passed through the Cosmic Gate and then exploded, doesn’t that mean that the Cosmic Gate is close by?”

Radix shook his head. “The Ark possessed unimaginable speed. I remember that this place is very far away from the Cosmic Gate, or else that explosion would have also effected it. That expert wouldn’t have been able to seal the Cosmic Gate if he had been affected by the explosion, too.”

Xia Fei nodded. It was clear that the Ark had possessed an absurd level of technology. The speed of this supership from beyond the Cosmic Gate was far greater than what ordinary people could imagine.

Frowning, Xia Fei asked, “The particles floating around in this region contain energy. If only I could gather up all these particles, I’d be able to increase my level quickly and also store away energy.”

Radix was startled as he seemed to have thought of something.

“That’s not completely impossible. Don’t you know the Law of Artificiary? You can install the magnetic collector on the The Gemini’s engine to gather the invisible metal particles in the vicinity. After which, you can refine them using the Law of Artificiary, removing the impurities and leaving yourself with high-energy alloy!” Radix proposed.

Xia Fei thought it over, then he slapped his thigh, and delightedly said, “That’s right! I know the Law of Artificiary! Why didn’t I think of that?”

Radix replied, “While you have the cultivation, perhaps you should learn how to think like an artificer. In truth, you can’t be blamed for this. After all, you’ve learned too much, but you’re fundamentally a warrior first. When you encounter problems, you have a habit of thinking like a warrior.”

Xia Fei smiled and went to work. He had become rich after his trip to Fig Corporation! Not only had he stolen Fig’s most important Pinnacle, he had also used his massive amount of points to sweep through the catalogs! He had left most of the items back in the Hidden Realm for Dimsky and the others to research, but he still had quite a few goods on him.

The magnetic collector was soon installed on the end of The Gemini.

*Whoosh~*

The ship started up, and Xia Fei navigated The Gemini several times through the region. The metal ball at the end of the ship grew larger and larger as those metal particles scattered throughout space were gathered.

Around two hours later, a giant sphere of metal floated in space. Even after many years, these remnants of the Ark were still packed with energy. Xia Fei estimated that the energy contained within matched or exceeded that intact piece of the Ark in the Secluded Springs.

“It’s probably as much energy as that last time. Back then, not just me, even Furball managed to advance! If only I could save up this energy for later use,” Xia Fei said as he emerged from The Gemini and looked at the giant ball of metal.

Radix replied, “There’s little chance of being able to store this energy because you’ll have to find a receptacle aside from that rainbow energy ball in your brain region to store this much energy. The energy pulses aren’t very intense because of all the impurities mixed in, but once you purify this energy, it won’t be so easy to control. Taking it away simply isn’t possible.”

Xia Fei nodded. Since he could not take it with him, he would absorb it all! It was time to gather energy!

Xia Fei cautiously began to use the Law of Artificiary to remove the impurities in the metal ball, and it began to shrink, the energy within growing purer and purer.

*Whoosh!*

That pleasantly pure energy surged into his body, and the rainbow energy ball began to release a dazzling light.

‘There’s a lot of energy, enough for me to get past the Law Sage heavenly threshold!’ Xia Fei excitedly thought. Energy was the foundation of everything, and with all his energy, Xia Fei naturally exceeded ordinary people when it came to cultivation.

The Eye of the Cosmos was too open, making it unsuitable for cultivation. Xia Fei planned to find a safe spot once he had gathered all the energy so that he could devote all his attention to cultivation!

Furball was also benefitting enormously. He had been very sullen lately. First, Xia Fei left him with Xia Guanghai while he went off to Pinnacle alone, leaving Furball feeling very frustrated. After that, when he returned to Xia Fei’s side, he saw Little Goldie!

Furball had already been competing with Peacock Blue for the position of Xia Fei’s number-one helper; now, Little Goldie had joined in the fray. Furball felt a heavy pressure. He could tell from Little Goldie’s giant body that it was no pushover, and its power was certain to be comparable to his and Peacock Blue’s.

Furball was very cunning. While he enjoyed the energy Xia Fei was transferring to him, he occasionally shot glances at Little Goldie. It was as if he was saying, “Take a good look! Master still likes me the best. I’m the only one who can share this pure energy with the master.”

Furball’s looks made Xia Fei’s eyes brighten. Little Goldie and Furball were both big eaters. If Furball liked this energy, perhaps Little Goldie would like it as well.

Xia Fei called Little Goldie to his side and placed his left hand on its head, slowly transferring a small portion of the energy.

Little Goldie was startled, and it then became delightfully trilled, quickly absorbing the energy Xia Fei was sending it with much gusto.

Furball was rendered speechless. He jumped onto Xia Fei’s shoulder and began to nuzzle his face with his soft and furry body, tickling Xia Fei’s face.

“Alright, alright. There’s plenty of energy to go around. Everyone can get a share.” Xia Fei heartily laughed.

Xia Fei had been working hard all this time, but Peacock Blue, Furball, and Little Goldie had also been of great assistance to him. These crazy and powerful allies were his treasures, and he wanted no more than for them to get stronger and stronger. Thus, Xia Fei was not stingy to them, sharing large amounts of energy with Little Goldie and Furball.

Radix pursed his lips and softly said, “Furball and Little Goldie have big appetites. It’s a good thing you’re rather well-off. Any other master would’ve already been eaten into the poorhouse by them.”

Xia Fei smiled. “You can’t say that. I wouldn’t have survived to this day without Furball, and I wouldn’t have been able to steal Pinnacle without Little Goldie. How much is my life worth, and how much is Pinnacle worth?

“It may seem expensive to feed them all this energy, but once they’re stronger, they can help me steal even more priceless treasures like Pinnacle! Do you think that I’m making a profit or a loss?”

Radix nodded. Furball and Little Goldie were very loyal, so them getting stronger would only benefit Xia Fei. It was just that Xia Fei was talking so often about stealing he was basically a bandit. Whenever he saw something good, he would think about how he could get it for himself.

The Eye of the Cosmos provided a sumptuous feast for Xia Fei, Furball, and Little Goldie, and everyone was left feeling satisfied. Furball and Little Goldie seemed to be competing on who could eat the most, the two chowing down like wolves, much to the amusement of Xia Fei and Radix.

It was a warm and adorable sight, which was rare to see. Xia Fei felt like he had gathered with his allies around a campfire to make merry.

Suddenly—

Space shifted!

A hole was torn through the dark fabric of space, and a horde of Dark lifeforms surged out!

All was chaos, the sight of countless enemies with bared teeth and flailing claws causing one’s blood to freeze!

*Zing~*

Xia Fei stood up and looked into the distance. Little Goldie, Peacock Blue, and Furball immediately entered their combat states.

Surprisingly, this large pack of Dark lifeforms did not come in Xia Fei’s direction. Instead, they headed… in the opposite direction? They appeared to be chasing something.

Xia Fei frowned. “This isn’t right. We’re right here, but those Dark lifeforms don’t even look our way. Something is very wrong!”

Radix was startled and sternly asked, “What do you plan to do?”

Xia Fei replied, “Never let enemies succeed! If they want something, we destroy it! Follow me!”

*Whoosh~*

Xia Fei explosively accelerated, moving toward that horde of Dark lifefofrms at one million meters per second.

Furball and Little Goldie followed him as they brimmed with power and majesty!

Furball was a Holy Beast, so there was no need to mention his majesty. Little Goldie was a mutated demon chrysalis, and it exuded the glory of a king. Together with Xia Fei and his fiendish energy, they created a team that no one could underestimate!

As they got closer and closer, Xia Fei was finally able to make out that the Dark lifeforms were chasing a flashing light! The light was too brilliant for Xia Fei to see what was inside it, but he understood that if his enemies wanted something, he could not let them have it!

“Furball, attack from a distance!” Xia Fei loudly ordered.

As he spoke, a flabbergasting scene took place!

Furball suddenly shot off to the side like a punctured balloon, moving even faster than Xia Fei!

In the blink of an eye, Holy Beast Furball streaked off like a comet into the darkness of the universe, vanishing without a trace!
