Chapter 309: The End of Chaos
Chapter 309: The End of Chaos
“Enough!”
The voice reverberated in the hall. Everyone turned their head to look at the source of the voice and found Argus standing close to the railing as he looked down on them.
They didn’t know what had happened. But the fact that Argus had appeared just after the strange incident, automatically made everyone think that he was the one behind it.
“You will all be taken under disciplinary action…..” Argus said as he looked at them.
“You can leave Max, report from tomorrow and join the patrolling unit…” Argus further said as he looked at Max.
‘Are you serious?’ Max really found it hard to believe. He was allowed to go just like that. Someone had to be playing a prank on them.
Well, it was just Argus taking the decision. What would happen later was still unknown…. If he really got out so easily, it would be a miracle.
“My friends have nothing to do with this….they just moved to protect me….” Max said as he looked at him. He couldn’t just leave them behind when they had jumped to protect him.
“I will make sure that the ones in the wrong are punished… but I will need every one of you to accompany me for now…” Argus said as he looked at the people below who still remained conscious.
“You gotta be kidding me…. Do you mean that him killing my brother isn’t wrong?” Nathan said with a frown.
At this moment, the mana which had been cut off for the past few minutes once again began to be felt in the surroundings.
“You brother isn’t dead, Mr. Edwinson, at least for now. He still had a breathe left in him when you lost yourself in rage instead of looking after him…. ” Argus replied.
The people were shocked at the sudden revelation and they turned around looking for Victor but how were they supposed to find him out after what had transpired here.
“He has been sent out already….do you think he had enough time to wait for you to fighting and look at him…” Argus said as he looked at Nathan whose face had seemingly had become devoid of color. He had not checked on Victor, but that strike, it shouldn’t be possible for someone to survive that. He didn’t how the miracle occurred but he was really relieved…..
Argus suddenly pointed at Max and spoke once again, “You should be grateful to him for leaving his spear into your brother’s chest body instead of pulling out even when you attacked him….if not for it, your brother would already be dead, without the tiny chance that he has now…”
Argus pointed the fact out. But he still left one thing behind, there were traces of Elixir on Victor’s body. If not for that, he wouldn’t have been able to hold onto until help arrived. But he was not sure where it came from and hence didn’t speak out about it.
“You want me to believe that? There shouldn’t be a need for the fight to have reached that point….” Nathan said in rage as his brows twitched.
“You should know your brother better than I do…..do you think he would give up easily? This was a fight with fair rules….injuries are not uncommon even death can occur when you have that recklessness within you….” Argus said as his tone turned heavier.
“If the difference between them was so big, it wouldn’t be impossible to subdu-“
“Enough!”
Argus’s angry words rang in the hall and suddenly, people felt the weight on their shoulders starting to increase.
“Mr. Edwinson do you realise your words. You want him to hold back in a fight when the opponent isn’t willing to back down? Do you want him to risk his life? A battle always carry’s risk. You don’t fight on a stage expecting your opponent to go easy on you. If you don’t even have that much of sense in you, you have no right to be standing one the stage…” Argus words shut Nathan’s mouth. He knew it perfect well. But he just couldn’t see that happening. He had somewhere always felt the guilt for Victor’s condition. He had always tried to make it up for him whenever he had the opportunity….he just couldn’t…
“This matter is over….” Argus said as he ran his gaze over everyone.
Everyone’s eyes flashed with a dangerous light as they looked at the man looking down on them. They couldn’t believe that they were unaware of this monster living between them like a normal guy. Even acting as a weakling from time to time.
Max on the other hand stood there as he calmly looked at Argus. His buff allowed him to overcome any kind of pressure. This was no different.
‘I knew he wasn’t normal. Something is definitely up with him….’
Aside from Max, the only person who remained unfazed was Werner who calmly stood there looking at Argus.
“Clap!”
“Clap!”
“Clap!”
Everyone turned their head to look at the direction which the sound came from only to see a guy dressed in formal clothes. His eyes looked sharp and his aura seemed piercing. The band around his arm clearly gave his identity away.
He was the Leader of the House of Knight, Bayu Tempest.
“You sure are quick to judge things aren’t you, Disciplinary Committee Head, Argus.” Bayu’s voice seemed calm as he looked at him.
“I don’t have time for this nonsense….just get to a decision…” Alen said as he crossed his hands, getting bored while standing.
Max on the hand couldn’t take his eyes off of the guy. He could feel a strange sensation as he looked at him. He knew this feeling very well. His genes were reacting.
Max really didn’t have any answer to the question. At first he thought that it was one of the five somehow. But, he didn’t receive any notification about «God’s Halo» being activated.
That could only mean that Max was wrong. If that was really the case, just what was going on here….
‘Who is this guy?’
….
On the other side….
Zack stood in front of a man drapped from head to toe. He was releasing an extremely dangerous aura and wasn’t allowing him to go ahead.
“Who are you? Why are you blocking my path?” Zack asked with a calm look.
“You don’t qualify to know who I am…..as for blocking your path? I believe that every Noble House was informed about it…. Mage above expert tier from Noble Houses are not allowed to interfere with Academy and the students….I warn you to take a step back before it’s too late….” The figure said as he calmly maintained its stance.
Zack frowned as he looked at the person. He could feel the danger but how could he turn his back now while knowing that Max was so close to him….
“Move… I don’t have any ill intention….I am just looking for my son…” Zack said as the mana around him began to fluctuate. He didn’t care about it any longer, hide….nope he wouldn’t. At first, he had thought that he would be able to convince his father and get Max soon. That was the reason had agreed to hide Max for the time being. But it didn’t seem his father would be agreeing anytime soon…in that case, he knew what to do….
“Son?” The figure replied in surprise before coming back to his calm. He obviously knew about the Noble Houses abd the mainline descendants. A son? Now that was something he was unaware of….
“You really do say some strange things…. Remember not to be so careless in front of others…..Didn’t that evil old man teach you anything…” the figure said as he looked at Zack.
“You know father?” Zack asked in surprise. “If you do then plea-“
Before Zack could complete his sentence, the figure interrupted, “Nope….I don’t know him….but I sure do wanna kill him for everything…..”
The man’s voice seemed to carry a grudge which was still to be repaid.
“Anyway, if you are done, just return….it’s good that you met me. If it was anyone else, you might have been in trouble.” The figure said as he waved his hand.
“If that is so, I don’t think I have any other choice…. follow me..” Zack said as his body began to float In the air. This wasn’t the right place to fight.
“Hahaha….a fight with the Holy Devil..I am interested….” The figure laughed before his body began to levitate as well and he followed behind.
