Chapter 363: Meeting the Headmaster Again

Chapter 363: Meeting the Headmaster Again

Max calmly walked down the hallway as he approached the man who was coming out of the room after collecting some empty glasses.

“Thud!”

Max’s shoulder collided into the man’s just as he passed by. The man lost his balance and the tray which he had been carrying in one hand tilted.

It didn’t take long before the glasses shattered on the floor.

“Uh…I am extremely sorry.” Max apologized as he stooped down on his knees to help in collecting the broken pieces.

“It’s fine. I was the one at fault for not paying attention.” The man said with an apologetic face.

Max continued to pick up the pieces as he looked at this man with platinum blond hair. There was a strong creepy and malicious aura within him. Max was only able to sense him because he came so close. It clearly showed his superiority.

This guy definitely wasn’t an average one.

‘Hmmm? Don’t tell me…’ Max felt a shock but held it back in.

This guy was deliberately leaking energy. Max could feel the small amount of energy coming out of him.

‘Did I sense him because he was deliberating releasing energy?’

Max suddenly felt he had caught a big fish. If Max couldn’t even actually sense him at this close without the guy making it obvious. It only meant that he was not someone to mess with.

What was the reason behind his action?

“Are you new here? I haven’t seen you around….”

“Yeah…I am new. I joined today.” Max replied as he got up along with the guy after gathering the pieces.

“Thank you….you can call me Ifrit….”

“I am Max. How long have you been working here for Mr. Ifrit?” Max asked casually as he walked with him.

“It’s been two years….” He replied.

“You look like you have been doing it for a long time. But it’s only 2 years? Did you use to work as a Butler for someone else before?”

“No, I didn’t. Two years is enough to get experience.” Ifrit said.

“Well then, do your best on the first day…”

Max looked at the guy as he took the stairs down before walking straight ahead.

….

As Max was about to kick the door open and drag the kid out, he suddenly stopped.

‘Wait a minute….’ He took out his phone and looked at the time. It was 2 in the noon.

He was dragged here at 5 in the morning. According to the labor law, one couldn’t force you to work more than 8 hours unless paid overtime. But that was every individual’s choice.

It was just on paper though. You would have to turn a blind eye to it if you wanted a job though. But for Max, he wouldn’t mind if they kicked him out.

….

“Don’t go ahead without me tonight. Let’s gather up first. I will bring two more with me…” Max said before sending the message through the transmitter he received from Bahamut.

He then proceeded to move towards his sweet personal home.

….

As Max reached his place, he put in his password as usual but much to his surprise, it didn’t work.

He tried again and it didn’t change anything.

‘What’s going on? Did this thing break?’

Suddenly, the door opened and a person came out.

“Who are you? This is my place…” Max frowned.

“I am here on behalf of the owner to check the place. Since the contract is being terminated, I have to look for any damages caused and accordingly ask for compensation…but luckily there are no such things. So we can consider it done now.”

“Wait! What are you talking about?” Max asked in confusion.

“Ah? You didn’t terminate the contract?” The man asked in surprise.

“No! Of course not!”

“Wait a second, let me contact my boss.” The man took his phone out and began talking to his boss as he moved aside while Max waited.

“How have you been kiddo?”

Max turned his head to look at the man who had put the phone on speaker. The voice that was coming from the other end belonged to the bald old man who was the owner of the house.

“Why don’t you come here in person old man?” Max said.

“Uhm…I am busy. Anyway…you can leave the house. Your things have already been taken so there is nothing more to talk to.”

“Wait a second, explain to me what’s going on?”

“Huh? Is that the tone when requesting? What will you do if I don’t?” The old man seemed to have gained much confidence from the fact that he was sage behind the phone.

“Then you better pray that I never find you…’

“Geez! Kids this day. I will tell you. Not because I am scared but because I planned too…”

….

After Max was done listening to him, he sighed repeatedly before leaving. His personal home was gone.

The Lorenz House with Association’s permission had cancelled the contract due to Max’a punishment. Since it would be a waste of money for Max.

“They were being considerate. But at least ask me first goddamnit!” Max cursed.

He only heard of being a servant. When did it turn into a live-in servant?

Well Max didn’t know that Lord Lorenz had helped him to save money after finding out that he was a scholarship student. If he really came to know that he was being cursed for his good gesture, he would surely cough out blood.

….

Max didn’t go back to Lorenz mansion. He wouldn’t be at ease with that demon in there.

Max headed for the Academy. He wanted to meet the headmaster and talk to his Master as well. Something about the All Academy Competition was bugging him. He had to sort it out with them and report about the situation in the Lorenz house too.

….

“Welcome Mr. I love trouble….what is it now?”

As soon as Max entered the headmaster’s cabin, a sarcastic voice entered his ear.

Max gave him an apologetic smile. It wasn’t like he had an option there.

“How was it Headmaster? Your trip…” Max asked. He knew it was related to Derek’s Master, Leo Von.

“We canceled it this time because of the chaos a few days ago….it was a surprise for everyone and everybody had to return back to their families.”

“Oh!” Max said as he took a seat.

“Who told you to sit down? Get up!!”

Max looked at him and stood up as if saying ‘you really need to do this? Aren’t we way past this point?’

“You are still a student..” The headmaster replied as if understanding his thoughts.

“So, what is it? I can’t imagine you coming here to ask about my well-being.”

“That’s not tru-” Max could only halt his sentence mid-way. He called his master for stuff like that but he never came here to randomly chat with the headmaster.

Now that he thought about it, most of the time he came here was because of some kind of trouble.

“Just spit it out already….do you think I care whether you ask about my well being or not..” The headmaster said as he browsed through his file. His work seemed to have increased.

“For starters, I think I came across a very strong demon….he can definitely kill you at least….”

The headmaster close his file and raised his head to look at Max.
