Chapter 565: People With A Problem
Chapter 565: People With A Problem
Max couldn’t help but frown listening to him, “What do you mean?”
“I thought it was clear enough..” Naze smiled before further continuing, “Were you not made the commander for the operation, the one to destroy the Dark Society?”
Max couldn’t help but give him a surprised look. This guy was becoming even more mysterious then before for some reason. Wasn’t he on the side of the Demons? How the hell was he siding with the Ancient Families now? What in hell was going on here?
“What? You don’t believe me?” Naze asked with a smile when he saw Max looking at him suspicion.
“Who are you?” Max couldn’t help but ask him.
“I am just your everyday guy.” Naze replied with a smile.
“How do I believe if you are telling me the truth or not?” Max said with a serious face.
“I don’t know. I actually don’t need you to believe me. I was just asked to follow your orders. So, I will be around just call me if you need me,” Naze said with a smile before passing his contact to Max and then got up to leave.
This really made Max speechless.
Max took his contact detail and flung into his spirit world as he looked at the guy, “Let’s just assume you are saying the truth. Mind explaining the situation to me? “
“Sure,” Naze replied as he once again sat back and sipped his drink before calmly speaking, “You see, some people are actually not happy with your involvement in this event. The fact that you are one of the wielders is also hidden from most of the people. So, they don’t think much of you actually.”
Max’s face twitched when he heard that, this guy really knew much more than he thought. He knew about the wielders and even the fact that Max was one of them. This was really getting confusing now. Just who the hell was this guy and on whose side was he?
“You mean you are one of the people who was supposed to be under me in this operation?” Max asked as he looked at him.
“Indeed, I have been sent from the Von family. Go and check with them if you doubt me,” Naze said with a smile and his confidence made Max even more confused. He couldn’t deduce anything about the situation for the first time.
There was no way that the Vons were going to have any dealings with the Demon side specially after August’s brother went missing since the attack and now the two sides were at war.
“Fine, I will believe you for now. Tell me who are the people leading the crusade against me.” Max asked as he looked at him.
If someone dared to go against him even after the Progenitors gave the order, then it had to be someone young. After all, the seniors wouldn’t dare for sure and if they did, Max was sure that someone would put them in their place. But if these people were young, Max was sure that they would just let it happen and try to see how he would handle the situation.
“Well, the main culprit is from the Storm Family. Her name is Synthia Storm, the girl is the granddaughter of the Storm Lord and cousin of Bayu Tempest.”
Max couldn’t help but give a complicated smile on hearing that, he had expected it from the the day he had witnessed Bayu with the spirit shell and today he finally confirmed his suspicions. The Tempest were indeed related to the Storm.
“Even though Bayu was the one to have gained slight approval of the Artifact, he wasn’t the strongest. It was always Synthia and for some reason, she doesn’t seem to be too fond of you.” Naze said with a shrug not knowing what was wrong with her.
“Anyway, she is the main culprit here. She had pulled Rihanna Leviathan, the current number one in the Leviathan’s younger generation on her side as well. The two are besties after all. As for the rest, they haven’t shown any interest in this situation but are just waiting to watch what you will do.” Naze further spoke and explained it to Max.
‘Well, it never ends,’ Max shook his head and sighed. It seemed that he would need exercise his palm a bit. He was already pissed at a lot of things and these people had to come in the perfect time to present themselves.
“You want me to lead you to the Headquarter provided for the operation here. The first meeting should be taking place soon and apparently the person who was suppose to contact you was stopped by them and hence I came to show my loyalty towards our supreme commander here.” Naze spoke with an honest look on his face but there was no way that Max was gonna believe this guy. He was even doubtful if everything he had said until now as really truthful or not.
“Well, let’s go then. I really want need to teach my subordinates to behave well,” Max said as he got up. There was no harm in looking at it once. He was not afraid of this guy to begin with and with the competitions taking place, the security through out the city was really tight so there was very less chance of anything happening.
…
Max and Naze moved swiftly towards their destination and Max tried to pry him for some information about himself but the guy was really smart and didn’t give a single thing away. Truly worthy of Axel’s brother.
“Why aren’t you informing Axel about yourself?” Max suddenly asked. He really wanted to tell that guy about Naze but wasn’t sure how to put it when they had no idea whether this guy was a friend or a foe.
“Go ahead and tell him. I am sure he will leave everything and come searching for me and die in the process. I don’t care honestly, you are free to tell him.”
Max couldn’t tell if this guy really meant what he spoke of. If he was an enemy, was it really safe to let Axel near him? This was indeed troublesome and Max had to find the answer to this question soon.
“It seems we have some guests, I am sure I haven’t offended anyone as of lately who are still alive,” Naze said with a smile as he looked at Max.
“I have offended too many to remember,” Max shook his head. He had sensed these people too. He had been doubtful earlier but now he was sure that they were indeed following him around.
“Well, they just seem like normal low level goons. Most probably to keep an eye on you.” Naze said warning Max.
Max was aware of it but he was more surprised at Naze, this guy was not bad at all when it came to awareness of his surroundings. Most people probably wouldn’t have noticed it.
….
Max and Naze soon reached the place. It was huge official building for some random company. It was apparently owned by one of the Ancient Families.
When Max entered its grounds, all his suspicions disappeared as he sensed a few terrifying presence there. It was obvious that such people wouldn’t go unnoticed by the authorities around. If they allowed the people in here, it must mean that they were someone they could trust enough.
So, the probability of Naze lying immediately diminished.
“Welcome sir,” The person at the reception seemed to have recognized Naze and his gaze lasted on Max for a few seconds more before he seem to have recognized him as well.
The two took the elevator before arriving at the the place where the meeting was suppose to take place. The stage was where all the commanding personnel who were given the responsibility to lead were supposed to be stationed. The grand seat in the middle most probably belonged to Max.
Aside from that the people below the stage were supposed to be the one’s who were going to take part in the mission and it included those from older generations as well. And during the meeting, if a question was asked by these people, the one in command would have to answer and justify it.
“Wanna go above and take your throne?” Naze asked as he looked at Max.
Max shook his head, “Nah, let’s just watch and see what these people have got.”
If they wanted to play with him, he really wouldn’t mind accompanying them back honestly
The two sat in one of the corner seats and waited for the show to begin.
Soon the place began to be filled with people. Max was bit surprised but it was still within his expectation. Not a single person around was lower than a Master Tier Mage. They were probably all team leader who would be leading a unit. Max felt a few sharp gaze running across the place from the rooms on the above floor near the balcony.
They were most probably Grandmaster Tier Mages….
In that case, were there no Supreme Tier Mages among the group?
Max didn’t know.
“They are here,” Naze said with a smile pointing towards the entrance.
