Chapter 645: Lear's Unknown Condition
Chapter 645: Lear’s Unknown Condition
“It’s time to end this..”
Roman looked at the two down on the ground, and slowly pulled his hands to the front once again. There was an evil smile on his face as he raised both his hands and engulfed them in lightning.
“Crackle!”
A bolt of lightning came crashing down as Roman brought his hands down.
“Boom!”
A thunderous impact shook the ground, and a deep trench was dug right at the place where the lavish Villa stood a while ago. As for the two people below, there was no sign of them. But, they hadn’t escaped for sure.
“You really are evil…” Max looked at Roman. This guy really had given those b*stards a false hope.
“Everything is fair when dealing with people like this.” Roman smiled, not even batting an eye at it.
“Besides, even if I am stronger than those two together. There is still a chance of them escaping if they run off in two opposite directions.” Roman further explained. People at such a high level had all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. If any of them had a way to get away, it surely would be difficult for Roman to catch them up.
“That’s the reason, I lured them into thinking that they had a better chance to injure me. And, I waited until they let their guard down regarding my promise to not use my hands.”
The rest was all in front of Max’s eyes. This man had broken his promise and killed them with ease.
It sure was a nice way to deal with people like them.
“Let’s go, it’s time to return..” Roman turned around with their job done. And, the two soon vanished into thin air.
….
Mark stood outside of I.C.U. with a dark expression on his face.
Wilson sat on his wheelchair in silence. But, his fingers were tightly clenching onto the armrest of the chair.
Melinda had arrived as well, and stood nearby with a heavy frown on her face. Caira on the other hand, quietly sat near her.
They couldn’t just believe this was happening.
At this moment, the Doctor came out with a heavy face.
Melinda immediately stepped forward and the rest paid attention as well.
“How is his condition, Doctor?”
“He has serious internal injuries.” The Doctor had a serious look on his face.
“He will recover, won’t he?” Melinda asked with a concerned face.
“…”
The Doctor’s silence made people’s expressions turn even darker. The silence was really killing them.
“I will refrain from giving any false hope to you people.”
“I can’t say whether his condition will improve or degrade in the next 24 hours.”
His words were like thunderclap in people’s ears and their eyes immediately widened.
“What do you mean by that?” Melinda frowned.
The information that she got from the rest of the kids here was, that Lear was on his feet when he arrived here. How could such a person suddenly be in such a state? If he really had such severe injuries, then it wouldn’t make sense for him to have stayed conscious for so long.
“Normally, he should have shown signs of recovery. Mages have a strong vitality after all. But, for some reason, we aren’t getting any kind of response from his body. And, his mana is in utter chaos for some reason..” The Doctor had a grim look on his face.
“What’s the cause of it?” Melinda asked him.
“We can’t determine it yet.” The Doctor shook his head. They had tried all kinds of tests, but couldn’t see the problem at all. It was as if Lear’s condition was invisible to them.
Melinda talked a bit more to the Doctor to know more about Lear’s condition before he finally took his leave.
“…”
There was silence in the hallway.
No one could have seen this coming…especially when everyone seemed to have made it out of the troublesome night with their eyes open.
Melinda sat on one of the chairs in the hallway. She really was about to erupt in anger at Roman. If he hadn’t held her back, they might have avoided this situation.
Mark looked at Lear through the glass pane, and he still couldn’t come to terms with the situation in front of him.
[[Where are you?]]
He proceeded to message Max, and explained to him what was happening around here.
A few minutes later….
Max arrived at the hospital with Roman, and didn’t waste any time. He rushed towards the Lear room as fast as possible.
“How is he doing?” Max asked Mark with a frown.
Mark on the other hand just pointed towards the glass pane, and told him what the Doctor had told them.
“How is this possible?” Max frowned as he walked up to the glass pane.
He knew that Lear shouldn’t be in such a condition.
There were injuries on his body. But, Max knew that Lear had seen worse. There shouldn’t be a problem in his recovery at all. So, what was this all about?
“I need to see him.” Max walked towards the door, but was stopped by the nurse. It was a bit unlike him, but he sure was losing his calm after a long time seeing Lear like that.
In the end, he controlled himself and backed off. It wouldn’t do him any good in arguing here. He would have to sneak in when nobody was around.
‘How in hell did this happen?’ Max couldn’t help but slowly clench his fist as he tried to figure about what could have possibly caused this.
But, it wasn’t possible to get to any conclusions without examining Lear.
In the end, Max sighed and sat down as well.
Worrying would do them no good. They had to believe in Lear for now.
“Are you fine? Shouldn’t you be resting?” Max asked Wilson by his side.
“I am fine, this much injury is no big deal..” WIlson calmly shook his head, he then proceeded to ask Max about what had happened at the factory.
“What happened there?”
Everyone turned their head towards Max. They were most probably trying to figure something about Lear’s situation from it.
Max looked at everyone and began to narrate what had happened from beginning to end.
