Chapter 660: Clash of Grandmasters(2)
Chapter 660: Clash of Grandmasters(2)
“You sure aren’t bad for an old geezer who has one leg in the coffin..” The Bald man snorted looking at the old geezer.
“You sure speak a lot, but I have yet to see your skill kid. Act more and talk less.” The Old man calmly raised his staff and pointed it at him.
Max was really curious as to what that staff was made of. It could go head to head against a hammer. A hammer which was being used by a Grandmaster Mage. He surely had not heard of any such wood material used in smithing.
It certainly piqued his curiosity.
“What are you doing, kill them?!!”
Max suddenly heard a shout, and saw that there were people here wearing the uniforms of the union and there were even a few belonging to his own squad.
It seemed that they were here lurking around, and waiting for reinforcement. But, now that an opportunity was provided, they surely had come out fast.
Max sure was impressed.
“Don’t kill these people..” Max said to Naze.
“You are asking too much..” Naze looked at him with a frown. There were quite a few stronger people in this group. If he held back, it might be disastrous for him. He surely didn’t want to get his head chopped for trying to prevent himself from doing the same to his enemy.
“Just try your best, I am sure our people will recognize you as long as you show them our badge. So, it shouldn’t be a problem with them..” Max looked at him with a calm face, and the guy just nodded.
The two of them then dove into the battle. They obviously took to the corners to avoid the Master Tier Mages, and allowed them to fight amongst each other while the battle in the sky continued.
“Clang!”
“Clang!”
..
The two Grandmasters clashed several times in mid air, and the Bald man surely was coming out with the short end of the stick. It seemed he was weaker than the old man for sure.
“It seems you are not as strong as I thought you to be…” The old man smiled at him.
“Don’t celebrate your victory too early..” The Bald man muttered with a grim look on his face, and the next instant, mana began to fluctuate around him.
The people below immediately felt mana depleting in their surroundings. It was to the point that only the Master Tier Mages could barely fire low level spells.
It was one thing which happened when you were caught between Grandmaster Tier Mages. These people had the ability to suck mana like a black hole. It was so intense that the other people wouldn’t have anything left for them.
And, it sure wasn’t easy for low level mages to fight with a Grandmaster Tier mage for their share of mana.
The terrifying fluctuation above is definitely above the scene below. A furious gale was kicked in, and not only the area but the whole district was engulfed in a storm.
The structures around the district were immediately uprooted and flung around like toys. Even the people who hadn’t timely found a holding were pulled away into the air and sent flying around.
Max, on the other hand, was quick to judge the situation. He immediately used the earth element and his feet combined with ground preventing himself from being pulled away. On the other side, Naze had several tiny little black threads extending out of his body. Those things had latched onto everything nearby and held him to the ground.
…
“Why don’t you say anything now, old geezer?” The Bald man snorted and pulled his hammer swinging it towards him. And it immediately sent a strong draft of air blasting towards the old man.
Max could hear a sonic boom, it was very obvious how fast that attack was. And, that would definitely hurt if it struck.
“Boom!”
The attack mercilessly struck the old man and before he knew, he was sent flying through the air.
The Bald man didn’t give him an opportunity to relax. His figure immediately disappeared and appeared right above the old man. He then let out a devious smile on his face before swinging his hammer down.
“Bang!”
Another thunderous noise rang out as the old man plummeted down to the ground.
“Boom!”
The impact at which he crashed immediately made the ground crack, and part of it rose in the air while another part began to sink.
‘Sh*t!’ Max immediately felt the effect, and let go of the dirt around his feet to escape from being swallowed into it.
He could definitely feel the terrifying fluctuations. He couldn’t believe that the Old guy from Storm House had actually asked him to face a person like him.
If he really had dared to fight him, the battle would have been over before the start. That was the amount of difference he could see between himself and the bald man.
In one word, he would be dead.
There was no other ending here.
‘Don’t tell me that the old man is dead..’ Max frowned. He had done a lot to get this guy here. If he was defeated so easily, his plans were surely going to flop.
The Bald man slowly descended onto the ground, and looked towards the crater on the ground.
“Is this all you had?” He shook his head, “I was expecting too much from you..”
As he was about to turn around, the ground suddenly began to tremble.
“Boom!”
The next instant, a pillar of light broke through the ground and Max’s eyes widened as did Naze’s on the other end.
“A Supreme…”
Well, that certainly wasn’t part of the plan.
Max immediately felt sweat dripping down on his face. It was the first time that he was honestly worrying about his enemy.
“He wouldn’t kill him on the blow, right?” Max was unsure about it. He was already asking for death by daring to snatch a kill from a Grandmaster, but now it turned out to be a Supreme.
He sure was screwed.
