Chapter 57 - So What If I Am Vicious?

Chapter 57 – So What If I Am Vicious?

Xiaofei tilted her head slightly as she put her chin on top of the back of her hand and with a smile, she said, "Well, it doesn't hurt to take a look at what you people brought to my Lin residence."

The servant beside Lin Xiaomeng immediately left his side after having the list handed to his hand by Lin Xiaomeng and walked towards Lin Xiaofei. He presented the list to her which she took with her hand and looked down.

Her long and thick eyelashed created a shadow on her cheeks as she looked at the names written on it.

After only taking a glimpse of the first name on the list, Lin Xiaofei unexpectedly tore the paper in her hand.

'Riiip..'

Collective gasps could be heard as she continued to tear the paper apart and into tiny pieces.

"Fourth young miss!" Madam Song scolded, "General Lin, look at your granddaughter! Tearing the list that we painstakingly gathered to offer our help for you to solve your problems!"

She couldn't believe that the young lady who had her reputation ruined was this brazen and arrogant even in front of her elders.

Lin Xiaomeng was also startled at her actions and when reminded by Madam Song, he wanted to say a word to Lin Xiaofei.

"Fei'er, what are you doing?" Lin Xiaomeng first asked even though he had a stern look on his face as if he was scolding her, his words were meant to ask her what exactly was she planning to do.

Dusting her hands and rubbing it as if she had just touch something filthy, Lin Xiaofei sighed, "I don't like the paper they used to write the list of names. It irritates my hand." She gathered the small pieces on top of her table inside her hand and turned to the servant who was standing beside her.

"Give this back to the Song family so they can replace it." She said it so simply and gracefully like she was bestowing them a few chests of treasures instead of trash.

The Song family's faces flashed white and red as they couldn't wait to get their hands on Lin Xiaofei and beat her up. What was wrong with the paper they used to write the list of names of her marriage partners? The paper they used was one of the highest quality.

It can't be that she wanted them to put the names on a gold tablet or the paper that only the Royal family could afford to use?

How presumptuous of her!

No matter how arrogant and high noble she was, Lin Xiaofei shouldn't be acting like this to anyone especially to the family that was connected to the lin family by marriage.

It was extremely unacceptable on the Song family's part to be humiliated like this while they were just showing their goodwill to others.

However, were they really showing their goodwill to them?

When the Song family heard of the engagement between the young master from the Chu family and Lin Xiaofei fell through from the servant who accompanied Song Yan Yi, the Song family found an opportunity to swallow the Lin family.

They rushed to search their family branches for an eligible young man who had an outstanding background and future so they could set them up as a potential husband to the fourth young miss of the Lin family.

After all, if one of these men catches the attention of the foolish fourth young miss, who knew if they could finally ride on top of the white tiger and experience a more luxurious life that as envied by many.

Unfortunately, this outcome was beyond their comprehension. Knowing the rumors about Lin Xiaofei was not far from the truth, they took advantage of it and wanted to appear helpful and kind to the eyes of Lin Xiaomeng and to the foolish Lin Xiaofei.

But who knew that Lin Xiaofei was not the same as before who could be swayed whichever way they want after being provoked or after others showing her goodwill and affection.

And even if they wanted to hit her head and beat her up with their family's rod, the Song family knew they cannot take any actions since they also have to show respect and accordance in front of Lin Xiaomeng, the great general that even the royal family would show a bit of respect.

However, there was one person who couldn't swallow Lin Xiaofei's arrogance and rude manners.

This person was the young lady who first verbally attacked Lin Xiaofei, Song Lin.

"Arrogant wench!" She screamed while others belatedly stopped her mouth from running her mouth, "If you don't like us then tell us so! You don't have to humiliate us and if you don't like the paper then don't take it. Let's see who will desire to marry a vicious lady like you."

"Lin'er!" Master Song reprimanded, looking stern and all but inside, he was clapping his hands at how brave his daughter was and wanted her to say more to teach the young lady who tore the paper in front of them a lesson.

He secretly glanced at the beautiful young lady seated across his daughter and expected to see her facade breaking, but he didn't know why but the cold smile on that peerless face was bone-chilling and filled with venom.

Even Lin Shen Yu who was silently enjoying the show that was already inside the palm of his cousin blanked out and felt a fit of overwhelming anger and hatred towards this Song Lin.

Meanwhile, Song Yan Yi, who was kept in the dark from the plans of the Song family was startled at the turn of events. She looked at Lin Xiaofei and also saw the cold smile that was playing on her lips and remembered the scene where Ke Song's body was hanged upside down.

She gripped the edge of the table and she's been trying to send some signals to her maiden family for them to stop with their plans but they were too blinded with their arrogance and messed badly.

"Oh did i hear some dog bark?" Lin Xiaofei raised her eyebrow, "I didn't know that a market person came inside my Lin residence and uttered some filthy words."

Leaning forward, she continued, "And so what if I am vicious? What are you gonna do about it?"
